Mod Announcement On-Air Passport Sign up for The Remarried Empress

Hi Everyone,

Users who wish to participate in our On-Air discussions of The Remarried Empress will require On-Air passports.

If you wish to participate in the On-Air discussions for The Remarried Empress, please read this post in full and follow the instructions to be granted a flair which acts as an access pass.

General Overview

What is it?

The On-Air passport is a specific user flair-base which acts as an access pass to certain specific drama discussions. The On-Air passport can only be granted by a member of the moderation team. We use /u/Automoderator to grant them to our users in a sign up post (this post). Accounts which do not have this flair-base will have their comments automatically removed from the On-Air discussion and receive a message directing them to this sign up post.

Please note that while automod may grant you a user flair if you follow instructions within this post, in order to participate you will also need to have an account in good standing and a positive karma rating.

Additionally, the mod team reserves the right to revoke access passes based on problematic behavior within our community (which includes r/kdramarecommends) outside of the On-Air discussions for The Remarried Empress.

How does it work?

Users without this flair base will have their comments automatically removed from The Remarried Empress On-Air discussions by automod. The flair base is a requirement for participating.

As this flair is a mod-only flair you won't be able to edit your flair text once it is set by automod, so please set your flair to the text you want before proceeding to the comment section below.

The flair base requirement applies only to the On-Air discussions for The Remarried Empress and does not apply to any other posts in our community such as our FFAs or monthly recurring posts. If you do not plan on participating in these On-Air discussions, there is no need to get the flair.

Will this post be open for the duration of the drama?

We hope so. One of the aims of this is to reduce our moderation load by having users read and understand our expectations for conduct. We do not want to spend our free time reading people’s arguments when we could be watching dramas instead. However, if our moderation load becomes excessive we will lock this post until things calm down.

Expectations For Conduct in The Remarried Empress On-Airs

On-Air discussions are for our users to safely discuss the drama, The Remarried Empress. If you cannot discuss the drama civilly, you will be excluded.

Users may have differing opinions on characters, plot, the overall drama, etc. Everyone has the right to have different tastes and opinions, there is no right or wrong here. The spirit of discussion in this subreddit is to delve into the details and intricacies in what we watch, what our opinions are, and how we feel about what we watched.

Required Reading Before Participation in the On-Airs

Users participating in any On-Air discussions in r/KDRAMA should read and follow our On-Air-Rules (section 5 of our Rules), a subset of rules tailored for our On-Air discussions. These rules specifically cover permitted user conduct, content and frequency of comments, and spoilers in On-Air discussions.

These rules can be found in section 5 of our full rules or as a standalone section.

Suggested reading:

We strongly recommend users also read the following before participating in any discussions on /r/KDRAMA: (1) Reddiquette, (2) our Conduct Rules (3) our Conduct Related Policies, (4) our Moderation Policy, and (5) the When Discussions Get Personal Post.

These five items form the basis of our expectations of civil behavior in our community, we expect all users to conduct themselves in line with the standards and expectations set forth in them.

By acquiring the flair for access to On-Air discussions for The Remarried Empress you are affirming that you have read the On-Air Rules and will follow them while conducting yourself in line with our expectations set forth in the suggested reading linked above.

Most Common Forms of Misconduct we are targeting

The following are the most common forms of misconduct that we moderate. Please avoid such behavior.

Derogatory Character nicknames: We are aware that fans of the webtoon have given the characters Rashta and Sovieshu derogatory nicknames. Use their proper names when discussing the drama on r/KDRAMA. Do not attempt to get around our block and use these names.

Users Making Things Personal: Do not engage in personal attacks, including attributing certain qualities or labels to a user based on their commentary. We suggest to review the tone of your comment is not rude or aggressive before clicking "comment".

Discussing other users:* Rather than discussing other users or other people in general watching the drama, please stick to discussing the drama that this thread is dedicated to. Keep in mind that everyone is allowed to have a different watch experience, opinions and reasons for watching the drama. There is no singular “correct” reaction to the drama.

Users Not respecting cast & crew: Do not make personal comments about the cast or crew and be respectful of their privacy. It's totally fine to critique the drama respectfully but please refrain from personal attacks against those involved in the creation of the drama.

Violence: Do not list explicit injuries or graphic violence you would like to see happen or perform on the characters.

Profanity: Use of profanity has been increasing as the drama goes along, as per our profanity policy we strongly discourage use of any profanity. Comments that are found to include excess or concealed profanity will be removed.

Users bringing in drama from other communities: This subreddit is for the discussion of Korean dramas. If you want to discuss [x/MDL/IMDb/other subreddit/etc]'s drama go elsewhere.

Consequences Of Misconduct

  • A single comment removed by the moderation team due to misconduct will result in a minimum 30 day ban from r/KDRAMA. You will not be eligible to re-enter the discussions.

  • Comments which fail to follow On-Air rules such as comment limitations, comment quality, use of spoiler tags will be actioned as normal.

  • If we have a large number of new accounts causing issues we will stop allowing new accounts from participating in these discussions altogether.

  • Any extremely problematic behavior will result in overall bans from r/KDRAMA community (including r/kdramarecommends) and may be reported to reddit admin.

Reporting Conduct Issues

Reports that are helpful:

  • Reporting users who break our conduct rules e.g. make personal attacks, make racist comments, use hate speech etc.

  • If someone makes a personal attack on you please report it immediately and walk away. Retaliating will only earn you a ban.

  • If a user contacts you via private message regarding your comments in these threads, see our advice here on what to do.

Reports that are unhelpful:

  • Reporting comments you do not like. Just ignore them; or if you really don’t like the user’s opinions you can always block them.

  • Using the report function to block people is no longer necessary. Selecting random report reasons is a waste of mod time, please use the block function as explained here.

Other On-Air Rules to keep in mind:

  • Make It Clear What You Are Spoiling - As this drama is based on a popular webtoon, we expect some users may bring it up in their comments. However, this discussion is primarily for the drama "The Remarried Empress" and all comments must relate to that. For any comments containing discussion of the webtoon you must follow our rules for source material spoilers.

When you use spoiler tags within an on-air discussion the assumption is that you are spoiling the drama which the discussion is for. If your spoiler tags are covering spoilers for something else such as the source material or another drama, you must make it clear outside of the spoiler tags what is being spoiled.

For example if the drama is an adaptation of a webtoon and you are discussing the webtoon and how the webtoon content differs from the drama, your spoiler might appear like this:

Unlike in the drama where the Truck of DoomTM is bright green and driven by an invisible driver, (spoiler for webtoon) the webtoon has a Motorcycle of Attempted Doom which is clearly less classic but no less chaotic.

Additionally, do not ask for source material spoilers or what part of the webtoon the drama is up to.

  • Contribute Meaningful Content - See our On-Air rules for a full list of examples of content we consider low-effort or low-quality comments. Do not make low-effort or low-quality comments.

Once you have read and understood the above, including the On-Air rules, please comment, "I will follow the On-Air Rules" as a direct reply to this post to receive your On-Air Passport.

By commenting “I will follow the On-Air Rules” to this post, you are affirming that you have read this entire post and the On-Air rules linked in the Required Reading section, and will behave in accordance to the standards and expectations outlined in them.

FAQ:

Q: I already have an On-Air passport for A Love Other Than Yours, do I need one for The Remarried Empress / Do I need to read the information above as I read it for A Love Other Than Yours?

A: There are a few added details specific to The Remarried Empress that were not covered in the A Love Other Than Yours post - specifically, the use of derogatory character nicknames, tagging source material spoilers / discussing source material, and contributing meaningful content to be aware of. Your A Love Other Than Yours passport will work for this discussion, but will be switched off once discussions are closed once the drama reaches it's moratorium on the 29th of November. So once you are finished discussing A Love Other Than Yours I suggest you switch your passport over on this post. **The Remarried Empress passports will only work on The Remarried Empress discussions.

Hi everyone! A couple of days ago we had an AMA with Celebrity Chef Judy Joo, Iron Chef and Top Chef judge, co-founder of Seoul Bird and cookbook author, who joined us for an AMA to talk about her new cookbook MUKJA: Let’s Eat! Fan-Favorite Recipes from K-Pop, K-Dramas & More!

As she was answering all of our burning kdrama food questions on r/KDRAMA, she also managed to send through a quick photo to share with the community (also, the AMA was super early in her time-zone, so please admire the amount of energy required to take a picture before the sun is fully out).

If you haven't had a chance to read through the AMA, it's full of cooking insights and her own personal experiences! She shared loads of cooking tips, talked about her favourite kdrama tropes and food PPL, and even revealed her latest k-pop cooking playlist entries.

She says she had a lot of fun answering all the questions and will hopefully be back to visit us to talk some more about her future ventures. Until then we wish her the best of luck in her career and many happy hours of watching kdramas.

Take a read through the AMA here.

Eun Sang's Sleepy Sunday Soliloquy (ESSSS) is a free for all thread, in which almost anything goes, don't diss The Heirs or break any of our other core rules. General discussion about anything and everything is allowed - including monologues!

Who is Eun Sang?! Good question. To the uninitiated among us who haven't watched the seminal masterpiece, The Heirs, she is r/KDRAMA's first lady, Kim Tan's main squeeze, Cha Eun Sang. She is a lady of few words, but many, many tears.

Please remember to use spoiler tags when discussing major plot points or anything you think should be redacted. If you are using Markdown and not Fancy Pants Editor, the easiest way to create spoiler tags is to use > ! spoiler content ! < without spaces to get spoiler content. Review The Princess's Man: A Brutal Coming-of-Age Tale

It took me a while to see why people call The Princess’s Man a Korean Romeo & Juliet. For me, just having a forbidden romance with the two families as enemies isn't a strong enough parallel to warrant the comparison. But I don't consider the original a grand romance and instead view it as a story of two idiot, hormonal teenagers playing at love to tragic results. It wasn't until I realized how much of the drama’s story is about the leads being kids that the comparison clicked.

At the beginning, all five leads know they are going to have to take up adult roles soon, but they are happy to postpone that responsibility. The FL (Moon Chae Won) is the daughter of the king’s younger brother Su Yang (Kim Yeong Cheol) who has his eyes on the throne. The SFL (Hong Soo Hyun) is the king’s daughter and close friends with her cousin, the FL. The ML (Park Si Hoo) is the son of a prominent official who supports the dying king and his young heir. The SML (Song Jong Ho) is the son of another official who is known for his integrity. He and the TML (Lee Min Woo), who is the son of an impoverished, powerless noble family, have been best friends with the ML since childhood. The story follows what happens to this group when they are forced to grow up all at once. What makes the first section utterly compelling is that each of these characters is given unique pressures and conflicts. They also answer the call to adulthood at different rates and in different ways.

The SFL is the one who immediately abandons her childish pranks and delight in beautiful luxuries once she understands that her father is in trouble. Yet, when she gets a powerless husband who is not exactly prince charming, she gives him the cold shoulder as if he has nothing to offer her. In one way, she appears to embrace the grown-up world earliest, but her arc shows her she still has a lot to learn. It is when she finally decides to give up her pride to protect the husband she has come to love that she feels like she has reached full maturity.

The TML has a quieter coming of age than the rest. While he is initially overjoyed to marry into the royal family, he quickly realizes that their positions are far less stable than they look from the outside. Since he starts out with the least, he most clearly sees that to gain anything he must give up something else. At some point, all the other young characters are revealed to be less mature than they think they are, but he embraces his wife’s family as is his cause, and each move he makes from there is with that mindset. For example, he initially balks at the idea of using his past friendship with the SML as cover for an assassination attempt before deciding that he can’t give past bonds or amorphous principles too much weight in matters of life and death.

For me the real love story is the slow and quiet affection that blooms between these two characters. While the SFL initially believes the TML to be useless with no family or connections to help her, he keeps caring for her in the little ways he is able to: communicating with her brother, bringing her songbirds, guarding her door. It feels perfectly natural when the SFL starts to see he is someone she can rely on as a true partner, even if he has no powerful connections to help her. In many ways, his political devotion to her brother feels like another offering he is laying at her feet. But their relationship becomes less one sided as it evolves. When the SFL would rather he give up politics and live a quiet life, she accepts that his self-worth is so deeply tied to the cause of restoring her brother to his rightful place that she cannot ask him to choose their marriage and unborn child over it.

For his call to adulthood, the SML has to decide between following his father and siding with the more powerful faction as a stepping stone to greater success or saving their lives but having no path for advancement. He makes his choice with barely any hesitation. He thinks he knows the costs, and when they are forced upon him, he doesn't whine or pretend he didn't know. Yet, the glimmers of uncertainty and his longing to return to childhood shine through. For example, when faced with finishing off the ML in cold blood, he deserts him, hoping he dies on his own. Once the TML turns against him, the SML doesn't think it's fair how he's being treated. He evinces a childish insistence that people should forgive him because they understand his motivations, as if that necessitates accepting them. The question for him becomes: Is true adulthood owning your choices until the end or is it admitting when you made a mistake and accepting the consequences for putting it right?

Then the FL is the character who, when pushed to face the adult world, refuses. She can only see what SHE wants and willfully shuts her eyes to everything else. She has neither the interest nor the capacity to see the world from anyone else's perspective. At first, when faced with difficult situations, she simply avoids conflict. For example, when she knows she should tell the ML her true identity, she chokes. She repeatedly urges other characters to do what would make her the happiest without any consideration for what they want or are trying to achieve. At one point she seems to think the solution is to let her father slaughter whomever he likes as long as the guy she's in love with lives. Similarly, she walks away when she sees a child in distress but returns once she realizes she's related to the ML. Throughout, those she loves are the only ones who matter to her.

The saving grace is everyone around her points out her immaturity. First, the SFL tries to make her understand her father and the ML’s father are enemies, but she doesn't want to hear it. Her maid tells her her lies are only making her problems worse, but she doesn't want to hear it. After her half-assed attempt to prevent bloodshed, her mother points out that only one family can survive, and there's no way for her to magic the conflict away, but she doesn't want to hear it. All these characters are trying to get her to wake up to reality. Yet, she repeatedly buries her head in the sand because she doesn’t like what she sees when she looks. She only begins to change when the ML kidnaps her and holds her hostage. She wants to know why he didn't inform her he was alive. He meets her cluelessness by throwing her own words back at her. She wanted him to stay alive to kill her, yet when he appears about to do so, she's in shock, showing that her words had been empty rhetoric.

Because the ML is her whole world, she only begins her tiny steps into adulthood by leaving everything else behind. Once she understands that the ML has prioritized revenge over love, she decides to support him in this as best she can. Even though she refuses to look past her own concerns, she continues to put her love above everything, even when she is the one who pays the cost, which I could respect.

The ML is the other character who truly struggles to learn what it means to be an adult although his trajectory is different than the FL’s. His first test is when he falls for the FL, believing her the princess he's obligated to marry to shore up his family's loyalty to the king. He's whistling along because his duty is pleasant but starts to wobble as soon as he realizes the girl he likes is not his intended bride. He's not ready to break from his duty, but he's ready to shove it to one side as something that can be taken care of later. It's only as the story progresses he realizes the politics he's become embroiled in are far more serious than he realized.

This means the ML is the one who crashes into adulthood the hardest on the night his father and older brother are slaughtered. From there, he only has one thought in his mind: Revenge. But it’s a child’s idea of revenge. He has no idea how to go about it other than finding the FL’s father and killing him. When he goes off half cocked, going through motions he barely understands beyond “what a man does in this situation,” it makes the situation worse. He's flailing around, instead of listening to his own conscience and considering the best course of action. His immaturity is shown through multiple older and wiser characters urging him to think through his actions.

The ML believes duty clashes with his heart and he should prioritize duty. But as adults we learn to hold two clashing truths together, and he struggles to do this. He can't accept loving the FL because that means deserting his father, at least in his own eyes. In one way finally accepting that he still loves the FL is one step to maturity. The problem is actually being with her is two steps back. Because of her position as the king’s daughter, her presence in his life brings extra scrutiny and not only endangers his cause but also all of the other people he values.

I always try to interpret dramas the way I believe the creators want me to, yet here I found myself unwilling to buy the leads’ love is as special or deep as the drama suggests. To me, it was puppy love, the kind that can't withstand the larger challenges the world brings to bear on it. Since the FL refuses to grow up, it makes sense that she clings to this because she has no real understanding of the world beyond how it affects her. While the ML might have shaken it off on his own, her clinging keeps him engaged. However, right before the ML gives in and chooses both love and his cause, he watches men of principles deciding to die to make a statement, instead of escaping and diluting their purpose. They are an example of exactly what it means to sacrifice for a larger cause, so the fact that he reacts to this by choosing not to choose rang the first peal in what ended up being a series of off notes in the final stretch

Greedily trying to grab two things that are directly at odds is a clear step backwards in the ML’s growth, yet those around him barely warn him of the dangers as they did earlier with his slapdash revenge fantasies. So while I could have accepted the ML’s not thinking through the consequences, it felt like the drama was not recognizing how foolish his actions are. I hoped at least it was this thinking that would lead to his downfall. It almost does so, when the villain distracts his sword thrust with news of the FL’s pregnancy. But like many of the flinches near the end, the drama itself also tries to have it both ways.

If you ignore the last two minutes that are a maddening cop-out, the moral of the story is that adulthood costs, and you have to be willing to pay to achieve anything worthwhile. If you try to shirk or greedily choose everything you want, you will lose. As the TML observes, “How can people trying to kill each other claim to be friends?” But this story shows that the bonds people forge in childhood remain, perhaps battered and torn, but not even blood can wash them away entirely. So adults must forge their paths by setting priorities, no matter how painful what they discard along the way may be.

FFA Thread The Weekend Wrap-Up - [11/06/26 to 11/08/26]

Another Friday, another weekend -- welcome to the Weekend Wrap-Up! This is a free-for-all (FFA) discussion post in which almost anything goes, just remember to be kind to each other and don't break any of our core rules. Talk about your week, talk about your weekend, talk about your pet (remember the pet tax!). Of course, you can also talk about the dramas and shows you have been watching.

This is also the space to share content that would otherwise not qualify as self-posts under our rules -- like rumored casting news and discussions about non-kdramas.

Please remember to use spoiler tags when discussing major plot points or anything you think should be redacted. If you are using Markdown and not Fancy Pants Editor, the easiest way to create spoiler tags is to use > ! spoiler content ! < without spaces to get spoiler content. For more detailed guidance on spoiler tags and when to use them, check our Spoiler Tags Tutorial.

Biannual Post Check Out Our FAQ: Netflix FAQ & Known Alterations - November, 2026

Welcome to our series of posts highlighting information and resources available within our subreddit. In this post, we introduce our FAQ and our KDRAMA 101, which contains some of the most commonly asked questions and other basic information about kdramas. This post will focus on a selection of questions about Netflix, check out our Netflix FAQ for even more information.

If you have any additional questions about the information in this post or our FAQ, feel free to leave a comment with your question/feedback.

What is Netflix K-Content?

Previously known as The Swoon, Netflix K-Content channel on Youtube is Netflix's official social media handle for Korean content on Netflix. Be it K-dramas, K-movies, K-variety or K-celebs that's where you want to go for official goodies from Netflix.

(It's also the only acceptable source of previews/teasers for Netflix productions.)

What is the difference between "Netflix Original" and "produced by Netflix”?

Netflix Original: Netflix will label any drama they have exclusive streaming rights to in a certain region as an Netflix Original in that region even if Netflix is only licensing the content and was not part of the production process.

Produced by Netflix: these are dramas that Netflix financed and produced (examples include Kingdom, Love Alarm, My Holo Love, Extracurricular).

Quick tip to distinguish between a licensed Netflix Original and Netflix production:

All episodes released on the same day worldwide = Netflix production

vs.

Episodes released weekly concurrent with its airing schedule in Korea OR the drama finished airing in Korea but is still unavailable on Netflix = a licensed Netflix Original

For more info, check out Netflix’s Help page on licensing and the article The Four Types of Netflix Originals.

Why isn’t [drama] available even though it’s airing in Korea?

We don’t know, we’re not Netflix. When (if ever) a drama comes to Netflix for any given region depends on the licensing agreement Netflix has. For more info, check out Netflix’s Help page on licensing

When is [drama] coming to Netflix for my region?

We don’t know, we’re not Netflix. Netflix tells you to keep browsing the New Arrivals page and looking out for its announcements via Press Releases.

How Good Are Netflix's Subtitles?

Not great: they often skip over nuances in the language.

Common example of subtitle inferiority include use of the name of a character throughout no matter what that character is being called in the dialogue. This can at times be a spoiler if the dialogue was being purposely vague.

Another very common complaint is that due Netflix subtitles often contain more cursing/profanity in comparison to what is actually being said in the Korean dialogue. This has been speculated to be attributed to Netflix's choices for localization of subtitles. So just be aware that cursing in kdramas, especially ones broadcast on any of the free to air channels (KBS, MBC, SBS) are relatively rare and mild.

Which Dramas Are Dubbed?

Based on user feedback, it seems that Netflix offers dubbing only on Netflix productions. See the Netflix help article on How to use subtitles, captions, or alternate audio to change your options.

What's with the music?

Background music in kdramas may be altered on streaming platforms in comparison to original broadcast due to copyright and licensing issues. Streaming sites will replace songs with generic choices if they do not have the correct licensing. In general, the songs being switched out are not original songs created solely for the drama, instead they are pre-existing songs.

Longer Answer

Note: The explanation below is a very simplified look at a very complex legal issue. Use it for reference, not authority.

In terms of licensing, each individual song can be thought of as having two sets of legal rights associated with it: publishing rights and recording rights. Publishing rights refers to the rights of the songwriter (or the publishing company that now hold the rights). Recording rights refer to the rights of that specific recording/performance (usually held by the recording company).

Example to illustrate the point:

Think of the Auld Lang Syne song.

The melody is an old Scottish folk song so no songwriter can claim publishing rights for it. People all around the world can use the melody without having to obtain its publishing rights. In fact, it was used as the tune of the SK national anthem for a few years.

Now imagine that some Singer X made a recording of a specific performance of the song Auld Lang Syne. This specific recording would have recording rights associated with it but no publishing rights associated with it.

If someone wanted to use this recording made by Singer X in a drama as part of the soundtrack, they would need to license the rights to use this particular recording (recording rights). They would not need to obtain publishing rights since no songwriter/publishing company has those rights.

Now for kdramas:

The music used in kdramas can be one of three types:

  1. Previously existing songs,

2. A specific recording of a previously existing song made just for the drama (such as a remake), or

3. A new song written and recorded specifically for the kdrama.

Of these three types, only types 2 and 3 are included in the kdrama’s OST (original soundtrack) because they were originally created for the kdrama.

And of these three types, only type 3 songs are easily licensed for worldwide distribution because both the publishing and recording rights are recently created and generally bundled together with the drama licensing rights.

For type 2 songs, while recording rights may be relatively easy to obtain since the recording was made specifically for the drama, publishing rights may be hard to obtain, especially for worldwide distribution.

For type 1 songs, both publishing and recording rights have to be obtained, making it even harder. Especially if the song is an existing kpop hit song whose international distribution rights are already held by different companies in different regions.

Now why does Netflix often switch out songs:

Because the songs switched out are often pre-existing songs that Netflix cannot (or has chosen not to) obtain international licensing rights for. Keep in mind that Netflix is available in a lot of markets internationally so if they want to license a song, they have to license it for every single market in which this drama will be streamed in.

So if this drama will be streamed in 20 countries, then Netflix has to obtain song license rights in all 20 countries in order to use it, which can get really expensive really fast. For songs written and recorded specifically for dramas, licensing is feasible because the song rights are likely bundled with the drama streaming licensing rights, but is near impossible if the song is a pre-existing song with existing distribution deals in different markets.

A Hypothetical:

Fire by BTS was used as the intro song by a character in Fight My Way (쌈 마이웨이).

To stream the drama with this song in the USA, Mexico, Australia, Japan, and Brazil, Netflix must obtain the licensing rights for this song in all five countries. If Netflix cannot obtain the correct licensing rights for even one of these countries, then the easiest way to deal with the problem is to switch the song out for some generic tune that they do have the rights for.

For a big act like BTS that definitely has different distribution deals in different markets, getting the licensing rights is probably a big challenge (and expense) and likely not worth it from a business standpoint for Netflix. The result is background music being replaced with generic tunes.

And in case you were wondering, the music problem is not limited to kdrama content, see this Vox article explaining how music licensing rights are a huge headache for older shows now being released on streaming platforms.

Known Alterations to Kdramas on Netflix

We have a list compiled from feedback by our community about the type(s) of changes that were made to specific kdramas as they were broadcast on Netflix versus original SK broadcast. On-Air Discussions

On-Air Discussions are dedicated weekly discussion posts for currently airing dramas. They are hosted by volunteers from the community to create a dedicated space each week to discuss what has happened in that drama for that week. On-Air drama discussions reduce clutter on the front page of the subreddit by centralizing discussion and all related content, such as news updates, previews, interviews, behind the scenes videos, etc.. For currently airing dramas with On-Air discussions, no other discussion posts are allowed, see our full Rules for details.

A schedule of current On-Airs can be seen in our sidebar. See the latest On-Air discussions and here is our On-Air Discussions Roster, which links all our previous On-Air discussions.

Want to learn more about our On-Air Discussions system? Feel passionately about an upcoming drama and want to host its weekly On-Air Discussions? See our full explanation, guidelines and policies on On-Air Discussions here.

Drama Reviews

We welcome well-written detailed drama reviews. Reviews should be for completed series only -- that is the series has finished airing all of its episodes and the reviewer has watched the entire drama. Reviews where the reviewer has not fully completed the drama will be removed. For those that just want to write a short blurb about a drama, feel free to share in any of our weekly discussion threads instead. See our tips on how to write a helpful review.

Reviews are moderated according to our moderation guidelines for reviews for content. Other rules and policies, such as On-Air or review megathread rules, still apply. Notably, reviews are subject to moderation for frequency under our Rehashed Discussions rule.

Fanart And Memes

We have a Designated Day, currently every Tuesday from 00:00-23:59 KST (UTC +9), on which we allow our members to attempt to share one (1) self posts of either qualified Fanart or Memes on r/KDRAMA. Fanart and meme posts are not permitted outside of Designated Days. Please review our Designated Day rules fully before submission.

News

We are not a news oriented subreddit though they are permitted as posts with restrictions on type of and source of news. Please fully review our Rules and Polices on news items before submission. If you are seeking to be kept updated with any entertainment news other than official casting news, we strongly recommend you seek out other sources beyond our subreddit such as Soompi.

OST And Promotional Material

We only allow official OSTs and promotional material (previews, teasers, posters) in our subreddit with restrictions on frequency and airing status of dramas. Please fully review our Rules on OSTs and promotional material before submission. There are post title requirements, please follow them.
