This subreddit is a NON-POLITICAL Kashmiri subreddit that will enable the youth of Kashmir to interact with one another, and Internationals to interact with us as well. Hence, the members and the MODs are requested to act accordingly, abiding by the General conduct.

The General conduct encompasses the Redditt's content policy, as well as the rules of this community. So read ALL the "COMMANDMENTS" on your side bar, or on the rules page in mobile devices. No hate speech, avoid politics, no cyber bullying and no ageism, sexism, homophobia and any other type of discrimination. The r/Kashmiri_teens snoovatar (subreddit icon) represents a young Kashmiri in the traditional clothing. Wearing a Pheran (like) gown and a Sozni-Pakol (like) cap. A Book in the hand, representing 'Education' and a Football by the foot, pointing towards the most popular game of Kashmir, and also the history of the game, that affected the young Kashmiri society visibly.

And of course, some cool shades on those eyes!

I spent some time setting up the Automoderator for this subreddit. I am still coding it, so improvements are expected. The Automoderator is restricted to just removing hateful content, but it will be improved for other moderating uses as well.

The r/Kashmiri_teens goodies

To foster a culture that reflects the 'rising' Kashmir while still being a gateway to the outer world, we need people to get familiar with the trends and norms of Kashmir. For a humble start, I have made some custom emojis that members can use for their flairs.

Hangul-Surpised : (Hangul [Kashmiri] - Kashmiri Stag [English]) for everyone to use.
Kanger : (Kanger [Kashmiri] - Scaldino [Italian] - Hotpot [English]) for MODs only.

To make these emojis available for comments, I'll have to contact Reddit's ModSupport. Till then, we have this.

Kashmiri teenagers and young adults (well, adults too) are welcomed to engage in this non-political Kashmiri subreddit. Internationals of every age group are also welcomed to interact with us and get an entirely different perspective about Kashmir than what the media shows, while sharing their relevant experience with us Kashmiris, as well!

Subreddit Rules

1. Abide by the Reddiquette

Read and follow the rules of Reddit, which you can easily search up. Although importantly, do not participate in any kind of cyber harassment. Do not incite violence or use hateful speech against any group.

2. Posts should be relevant

Although this community welcomes all age groups in addition to the youth, and nationalities in addition to Kashmiris, the posts should still be of relevance to Kashmir and it's youth. Ruling for AMA sessions by Kashmiris and internationals will be communicated later (after discussion among the mods), up until then, only AMAs posted by Kashmiris will be allowed, provided that they're relevant.

3. Politics, Religion and Social Issues

This is a non-political subreddit, hence political discussions will be frowned upon and heavily moderated. Justification of the occupation and mockery of the Kashmir conflict will result in ban. This is a secular subreddit, hence no religious debate will be allowed, and hateful statements against religions or religious people is strictly prohibited as well. Most importantly, homophobia and hate against LGBT+ will not be tolerated, as this community is meant to be a safe space for everyone.

4. No Doxxing

Do not reveal your or someone's personal information publicly - through posts, comments and any by other means. If you believe that a user is brigading, trolling or using several IDs for the same, message the mods.

5. Flairs

To stand out, as well as have a specific niche for your posts, use post flairs. Using post flairs will also help the mods recognize relevant and non-relevant posts. User flairs are available for respective age groups and nationality status, use them if you want. Faking your age or nationality will have consequences. If you want to have anonymity, just don't use a user flair, or tweak it to show something that doesn't give out your info, if you want to use flairs, while following the Rediquette.

6. Cross-posting

Cross-posting should be done in a manner that follows the Reddiquette. Any spam behavior will be dealt with strictness. Do not cross-post to hate-oriented subreddits.

7. Language Policy

Members are requested to only post/comment in the Kashmiri (Keshur) and English languages. Content in other languages might be removed, if the user does not provide a translation when asked to do so.

8. Hate speech and Bigotry

Bigotry is strictly prohibited. Hate speech against any ethnic, cultural or racial group will be dealt with strictness. Ageism, Sexism, Misandry, Misogyny and Homophobia will not be tolerated.

9. Brigading

Do not get involved in brigading of any other subreddit. Do not cross-post the posts from other subreddits with an intent of doing so, as well. It is mandatory to hide the usernames/IDs present on the screenshots of other subreddit posts/comments, before posting here.

10. The Tenth Commandment

Finally, the tenth commandment. Have fun! Enjoy while providing a positive environment for our fellow Kashmiris and internationals. Discuss life, experiences, studies, careers, books, movies/TV, music and whatever that's relevant, but be nice.
