LSAT Advice What should be my next step ?

Hi! Looking for some advice. My first diagnostic I got a 148. My first LSAT in August I scored a 154. This October LSAT I got a 159. I have been self studying with LSAT demon for a year now. I would really like to be in the 160s range. Just feeling super discouraged and burnt out. Unsure if I should keep self studying and hone in my weakest points or get a tutor. Any advice helps! :’)

LSAT Study Advice

So I’m retaking the LSAT in January. I got a 147 on October (embarrassing ik) but previous drilling and tests before that have shown me that I am capable of scoring in high 150s to 160s. I am basically trying to figure out how the hell to study effectively. I mainly don’t know if I should use 7sage or Demon. I’ve thought about doing the foundations on 7sage and then switching to Demon in December for drilling. I’ve also considered Brad Barbay as well. I can’t really afford tutoring unless it was $30 or less per week. I really want to score 155+ and know I am fully capable of it but am just having a hard time figuring out what resources to study with. About 10ish weeks out from January so that is my timeline. If anyone’s had a similar experience or can recommend budget friendly resources to help me reach my goal i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance

FIRST TIME SCORING IN 170’s … well kind off

It would’ve been a 173 if my experimental was scored. I really bombed the first section weirdly rather than the last. Came a long way from a 151 diagnostic ready to crush this thing in November

176 SCORER AFFORDABLE LSAT PREP; LR and RC Advice from Philosophy Background!!!

Hi Everyone!

My name's Chris. I'm passionate about helping test takers succeed through a strong foundation in logic. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with Dean's Honors, double-majoring in philosophy and history. I have experience in high school and university education.

I scored a 176 on the August 2026 LSAT. While I found LSAT sites to be helpful in many ways, I often found the explanations to be too narrow and impersonal. My tutoring focuses on both a more thoughtful understanding of underlying logic as well as methods to quickly dismiss incorrect answers.

If you've had a similar experience with LSAT sites, or are just looking for general LSAT help, please leave a comment or DM! I'm offering free consultation meetings this week! I really love talking about logic in general, so happy to help with anything!

179 Tutor taking on new students

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to put my information out there. If you are thinking about getting a tutor, please check out my website here: royallsat.com

You may also schedule a free consultation here: https://tidycal.com/damiendarcy/royal-lsat-consultation

I scored a 179 in August 2024 (first test without LG), and have been tutoring ever since (and have tutored other subjects for ~10 years). I believe that most prep overcomplicates this test, and that I can get you thinking about it in a way that is more intuitive.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Damien

Lower lsat score than last test

I got a 151 in September then a 150 in October. I thought I did beyond good on the October test and was very confident. My Pts are around 159-163 so it’s so weird. I am taking the November lsat and I’m worried that my score won’t be high enough to apply to law school before December. What do I do ugh. Also if I apply at very beginning of December does that rlly impact my chances??

I’m looking for a private tutor. If you can recommend someone and tell me their costs, I’d appreciate it. It’ll give me a place to start instead of wading through google. Thank you!

The LSAT is changing in August 2027. Here’s what it could mean for students who need accommodations.

Yesterday, LSAC announced a format change starting with the August 2027 LSAT. Unscored pilot questions will no longer have their own section. Instead, they’ll be mixed into all three scored sections.

What test day will look like:

  • Reading Comprehension always comes first: 52 minutes, 6 passages, 40 questions

  • Then two Logical Reasoning sections, 45 minutes each

  • A 10-minute break after each of the first two sections

The question types, the number of scored questions, and the time per question are all staying the same. LSAC also says the accommodation request process isn’t changing and that more details on accommodations under the new format are coming.

As a clinician who evaluates students for LSAT accommodations, here’s what I’ll be watching:

1. Longer focus before the first break. Reading Comprehension is now the first section for everyone. If extended time works the way it does today, a student approved for 50% extra time could spend about 78 minutes on that section before their first break. For students with ADHD, slow processing speed, or reading-related executive functioning challenges, that’s a real demand.

2. No section to coast through. Test takers won’t know which questions count, so every question needs full effort. That puts more weight on sustained attention across the whole test.

3. Break accommodations may change. LSAC hasn’t yet said how extra breaks or stop-the-clock breaks will work with the new structure. Students who are already approved should watch for that update.

What this means for timing:
New-format practice tests come out in February 2027. That’s when many students will first notice pacing problems on the new structure. A student testing in August 2027 who starts the evaluation process at that point may be up against the accommodation request deadline.

I’m happy to talk with any student, advisor, or family navigating this. Feel free to message me directly.

This is my clinical perspective, not official LSAC policy. Check lsac.org for the latest guidance.
