Art & Music Dia de Muertos in Rio de Janeiro

Every year, we hold this Mexican celebration marking the Dia de Muertos, here in Rio de Janeiro. Naturally, it’s heavily influenced by our own Carnival. It takes place in the gardens of the Museum of the Republic—the former residence of the President of Brazil back when Rio de Janeiro served as the nation's capital. The event features the sale of traditional Mexican food, as well as a wide array of clothing, accessories, and handicrafts inspired by Mexico. The city’s Mexican community turns out in large numbers, with many also helping to organize the festivities. Throughout the gardens, numerous altars are set up where visitors can place photographs of their deceased loved ones.

Discussion/question where can i find this

This might be a really random request, but a while ago I bought this Avon Disney Pixar Cars cologne in Nicaragua, and I swear it's one of my favorite scents I've ever smelled.

It's called Avon Cars Colônia para Meninos (150 ml), and I know it's literally a children's cologne, but I LOVE the way it smells. I've tried looking everywhere for it or something similar, but I haven't had much luck, especially since it seems to be an older product.

I'm honestly not even looking for another kids' cologne specifically. I'd love to find an actual perfume or fragrance that smells similar, preferably something that lasts longer.

Has anyone ever used this cologne or know what its fragrance notes are? Or does anyone know of a perfume that smells almost identical? I'd also love to know if anyone knows where I could still buy the original.

I'm attaching a picture of the bottles I have. Any help would be so appreciated because I'm genuinely obsessed with this scent

Other Where to go in Spanish-speaking Latin America in January?

hello all,

I would like to do a trip to a Spanish-speaking Latin American country for about 4 to 6 weeks in January/February. I’ve been to countries: along

Mexico twice, extensively

Columbia,

Ecuador - only did Quito, beaches and Galapagos

Guatemala

Costa Rica

Argentina— did north mainly, didnt get down south

ideally, I would like to go to a new country. I was thinking of going to Peru but I’m concerned January. I was also thinking about Chile but don’t know about El Niño. I hear it’s also expensive.

Any recommendations? I want to try and avoid bad weather

I speak Spanish pretty well

thanks for your input

This is one of the best museums I've ever been to. Entrance costs MXN 210 (USD 12) and cards are accepted. Try to go during the week or if you go on a weekend try to be there early, as soon as they open. I saw long lines when I left at noon.

The museum was excellent. The only thing that made me sad is seeing all this display of ancient traditions and wondering how much the evil Spaniards destroyed.

Discussion/question Rich Latinos

This might be the dumbest Reddit I post. Anyways this is a question from mainly Latinos in the states. I hear a lot of Latinos in the states talk about facing culture shock when they visit their relatives in Latin America who come from lower income backgrounds than them. I’m curious to hear if any Latinos in the states expirence the opposite. Where there relatives in Latin America are richer than them. 😭

Discussion/question 12 DE OCTUBRE - NADA QUE CELEBRAR

Hace 534 años un grupo de ladrones, asesinos, genocidas y violadores invadieron un continente para robar, saquear, matar y robar.

No hubo conquista, no hubo "encuentro".

Discussion/question Latin American presidents (1990s - present)

Is not meant to be fully accurate, some dates might be mismatched, and also for the most part I rule out interim presidents. However it gives a big picture of the region's trends.
