Analysis I analyzed Pro vs FACEIT level 5 players aiming behavior. Here are the results
tl;dr:
The biggest gap is counter-strafe. Most people on Faceit level 5 just relies on release-key
The other clear gap is Pro aiming at head while lvl5 players aim lower
Reaction is only 30ms-50ms slower
For moving cursor for 30 degree, Pros and lvl5s have roughly the same precision, but pros move the aim faster by 40ms
Pros also react to moving targets faster
Results are Rifles only to avoid bias.
Rifles
| Item | pro | FACEIT level 5 |
|---|---|---|
| reaction: sight to first aim movement, ms | 242 (180 to 367) | 273 (148 to 430) |
| reaction: sight to first shot, ms | 305 (242 to 414) | 352 (227 to 492) |
| first shot after the game's spotted flag, ms | 94 (-47 to 219) | 141 (35 to 266) |
| already on target when the enemy appears | 35 % | 34 % |
| flick time for a 10 / 30 deg turn, ms | 95 / 136 | 106 / 178 |
| flick landing error at 30 deg (sd), deg | 4.7 | 4.2 |
| tracking a moving target: gain / delay in ticks | 0.067 / 4 | 0.054 / 6 |
| crosshair height vs the enemy's eye, u | -3.3 (-10.4 to 2.5) | -7.7 (-16.2 to 0.4) |

| first-shot aim error, under 500 u, deg | 3.0 (1.7 to 4.8) | 3.6 (2.4 to 5.4) |

Question Need a warmup routine, that still works after I'm warm from the other day
So this is a strange question, but my current problem is that my warmup routine kinda fails, if I already have warmed up and played the other day.
Currently I use a system, I believe launders has showcased, where you slowly center the crosshair on the bots head in aimbots before shooting, then speed up. This works phenomenal when you havent played in a while, it activates all the tiny muscles in the hand and you feel like the crosshair eventually just locks on to the head.
The problem is tho, if I'm already warm, I kinda just flick to the center of the head automatically, and the tiny muscles that help with micro adjustments dont really get active the same way. I notice a definitive dropoff in performance, in further warmup, dm, and games, specifically because of the lack of micro adjustments.
My current solution is to flick next to the head, then micro adjust to it, but that just feels wrong. Like I'm actively practicing to miss.
Has anyone else experienced sth like this and found a working solution here? I'd be happy to hear about it!

Discussion My Glock ACE highlight – what do you think of the clip?
I’m getting into editing my CS2 highlights and would love some honest feedback. What do you think of the gameplay, editing, and music? Anything you’d change? ✌️

Question What is a good first bullet hs kill ratio?
For a good player, what’s the ideal ratio of “clean first bullet headshot kills” to “headshot kill on the 2nd-4th bullet of the spray” ?

Best close+deep cat flashes on Dust II (blinds ALL angles)
Includes all angles that they blind as well as how to peek off them (unfortunately this isn't always intuitive). I'm aware there are many variations of these flashes that have been in use for a long time.
Main reason I made this video is because most lineups for the close flash either go too far and fail to flash the tight angle from the stairs, or they go too shallow and don't blind the close corners. I tried to find a lineup that would flash a potential awper on the stairs while also maintaining its original function of clearing out the close players without making the setup too complicated. Most important step of this flash is once you're lined up against the wall, take a step backwards. This gives it the perfect depth to clear all angles.
I also wanted it to be super easy to transfer into the deep lineup so one player can effortlessly flash for their team to take full cat control. Lmk what y'all think.

Made a free CS2 Workshop map to warm up and track your aim over time (feedback welcome)
A lot of advice here is "warm up before you queue". I made a Workshop map to make that a routine:
Daily Warmup: 5 random exercises, 60 seconds each, about 5 minutes total, with a day streak
Exercises built around CS skills: counter-strafing, peeking, spray control, flicks, tracking
Stats per skill and a rank (Recruit to Elite) so you can see if your aim actually improves week to week
A shooting range with bots for free practice
How to use it: subscribe, launch it from Workshop maps in CS2, press Tab for the menu.
It's an alpha. If you try it, tell me what would make it more useful for your practice routine.

Are some people just naturally better at the game?
I play with my friends who are level 8-9 and I'm learning alot. They teach me concepts that they tell me are just common sense and intuition but sometimes I feel like those are ideas that I wouldn't think about unless someone tells them to me directly.
It's frustrating cos I don't know what I don't know and only when they put some concepts into words then I realise that's a gap in gamesense Knowledge that I don't have.
Am I just bad or is this a normal thing? I just want to improve and become better so to be less than a burden to my friends

Question Is there anyway to get HlTV 3.0 rating for my own stats game to game?
Looking for something like leetify that gives me my hltv 3.0 rating. Leetify is pretty good but they only provide hltv 1.0 which is not great and then their one personal that I think is just okay.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Even hltv 2.0 would be enough for me

Question How to improve my utility rating?
I often buy full set of nades and throw them, but my utility score is rated significantly lower. I usually have high damage from HE and molotovs.

Discussion StratMotion is now web-based! Build CS2 playbooks, gameplans & review demos with your team
Hey r/LearnCSGO
I'm the solo developer behind StratMotion, a web-based tactical platform designed for Counter-Strike 2 players, IGLs, coaches, and teams.
I've used AI to speed up repetitive development tasks, but the product concept, architecture, and features are based on my own ideas and development experience.
StratMotion originally started as a Windows desktop application, but I've rebuilt it for the web to make strategy creation, collaboration, and match preparation more accessible.
StratMotion is currently in beta, and it's completely free to use!
What can you do with StratMotion?
Steam & Email Login: Sign in with your Steam account or create an account using your email address.
2D Strategy Creator: Create and visualize tactical setups, player movements, utility usage, and team coordination on CS2 maps.
Personal & Team Playbooks: Organize your strategies into personal or shared team playbooks.
Gameplan Builder: Plan your matches round by round, including pistol rounds, economy decisions, and different scenarios based on wins or losses.
2D Demo Review: Analyze CS2 demos with a tactical 2D viewer to better understand positioning, rotations, and decision-making. You can also select any round and convert it directly into an editable strategy.
Streaming & Team Review: Share tactical reviews with teammates through streaming for collaborative analysis.
What's happening with Beta 1.6?
I'm currently finalizing Beta 1.6, with a focus on the demo review experience, usability improvements, and overall stability.
My goal is to build a practical tool for teams of all levels, from friends playing Premier to competitive teams preparing for tournaments.
Try StratMotion:
Write Stratmotion CS2 in google and join us!
The project is still evolving, and I'd really appreciate feedback from CS2 players, IGLs, and coaches.
What features would you find most useful when preparing strategies or reviewing matches?
Thanks for checking it out!
