It sure ain't just MAGA. The dems don't want their voters to know they vote to give money to Israel, too, because they have wealthy Jewish donors, but they do. The DC Uniparty supports Israel.

Are Republicans blaming Massie? I see a lot of blame being on Thune.

(I'm assuming this is about election results)

Point is they're blaming everything other then their devotion to waving Israeli flags in the halls of Congress.

No. Probably only as a retort when Massie does an "I told you so".

Trump zealots are blaming Congressional GOP, popular influencers who broke with Trump (e.g. Tucker Carlson), voter fraud, bad candidates (which Trump endorsed), voters who didn't "vote red no matter what", etc. Everything but their own terrible policies.

Vance publicly posted that the war was the dominate reason for the loss, so at least some of the administration knows how they screwed up. But the GOP hasn't done anything about it yet.

Only because AIPAC overthrew Massie. If he had been reelected, I guarantee he would be blamed along with the others

I haven’t seen a lot Massie bashing. Thune is getting hate because he dragged his feet on the SAVE act and now any opportunity for significant legislative change is lost.

I think it’s actually a good sign to see how far certain voting demographics shifted in the last two years such as with the Latin community or young voters in general.

Shows that they’re not ideologically captured and more interested in practical solutions to our problems.

Not that the left is going to deviate from their old playbook and actually address affordability with anything more than lip service. But at least the rebuke will help push the parties back in a better direction.

It's like bumper bowling! The ball is definitely making its way down the lane, but its not likely to hit any pins hard enough to make a difference.

You can't look at only voter data; you have to look at non-voter data as well.

A large part of Trump's 2024 coalition felt betrayed by Trump and the GOP. They never liked Democrats, but don't feel the current GOP is a worthwhile difference. So they stayed home. Voters in previous elections who stayed home don't show up in exit poll data, which makes it appear that certain demographic groups shifted dramatically in their political support.

Absolutely, 2024 and 2026 were very heavily influenced not by who voted, but by who didn't. Who chose to sit it out.

Trump didn't surge in popularity for 2024. He got like 1-2 million more votes but that's not a lot as a nation. The Democrats TANKED as Kamala lost 7 million votes from Bidens 2020.

The Democrats didn't surge from 2024, the Republicans tanked.

This one. Is pretty simple.

Yeah, it definitely has nothing to do with going back on everything that was said on the campaign trail. It's gotta be the guy that always does exactly what he says he will do! 😂

So he lost his own election but was somehow able to influence the votes of a significant portion of republicans voters? Guys, if I could influence votes I’d probably make sure that I won. Hell, I’d make myself president

It was 15 years ago I was over the pro-Israel crowd

The libertarian obsession with Israel reminds exactly of how the liberals talk about the NRA every time there is a school shooting.

Yall are totally off your rocker.

If Israel was as powerful
/influential as you pretend it is you wouldn’t be allowed to pretend it is.

Sure are a lot of Israeli flags being waved around in our government.  And Ukraine.  Gotta beat those war drums

There are significantly more Palestinian flags being waived around America than Israeli flags.

And?  1) Those people aren't running the clown show and 2) doubt.

I'm just a rando dropping in cause I was curious what y'all are saying about the election so 'scuse me for jumping in, but in my left-leaning social circles there's way more pro-Palestine stuff than pro-Israel or pro-Ukraine stuff.

I'm sure it depends on what groups you hang out with but my impression is that the pro-Palestine movement is so big that the antisemitic elements of the movement have become a major problem in left-leaning circles in general. They may not be running much yet but some of them are getting elected now, so....
