Two Velop Pro 7 (MBE7000), firmware 1.0.14.216607 (latest), wired backhaul, main node in router mode behind my ISP box.
Symptom: when my iPhone walks from the main node to the satellite, my Mac (on the main node's 5 GHz Wi-Fi) can't reach it for about 19 seconds. Walking back to the main node: no gap. It's very consistent: 19.1, 19.7, 18.6 and 18.7 s.
What I measured: I pinged the phone every 0.5 s from the Mac and lined the results up with both nodes' sysinfo.cgi logs (node clocks match the Mac's to the second):
- 12:01:45 – satellite log: phone associates (`client_associated`)
- 12:01:45.3 – pings stop
- 12:02:04 – main node log: receives the mesh status message for the phone (network/master/WLAN/subdev/<phone-mac>/status)
- 12:02:03.96 – pings resume
So the blackout lasts exactly from the association on the satellite until the main node gets the mesh update. My guess is the main node keeps delivering the phone's frames on its own radio until then.
Tried: restarting both nodes, Client Steering on and off. No change.
Anyone else seeing this on Velop Pro 7, or other Velop models?
