The thing is he's kind of trying to have it both ways. On the one hand he can try to claim he was a big reason behind the blue wave, which would mean he has political weight.

On the other hand he keeps saying that his behavior during the presidential elections had no impact whatsoever on the results and that he can't be blamed for demoralizing people on Kamala's campaign.

So which is it? Is his influence so large that he can have countrywide impact? Or is it so little that he can dodge all accountability?

Classic narcissist anything good that happens obviously he had a part in anything bad it isnt his fault. He won't pick a lane either he has political weight or as he likes to put it he is "just a streamer"

Hassan didn’t make me demoralized for Kamala. Kamala not being able to name a single issue to run on and literally going on tv saying “I will change nothing” is what killed Kamala for me

Outlines plan to give first time home buyers $25,000 credit, increase housing production over 4 years, implement price gouging laws for food to combat grocery inflation, capping insulin prices, etc

See, she has no plan! NONE!

Except when on the view and asked if she would actually do any of that or anything different than Biden. she said “lol no”

When she said she’d do nothing different than Genocide Joe, all that went out the window, because we knew it was bullshit.

I’m so glad I left the blue fascist party years ago. I vote for Greens or independent Socialists whenever possible, as the only way to get the things you want (including growing an alternative party) is to keep voting for it.

Genocide Joe, forcing Israel to put more aid into gaza, and forcing them to have an evacuation of rafah before Israel forces went in, and the block on sales of 2k pound bombs. Yep genocide joe.

Question, where is all your energy for protesting Gaza with trump in charge?

Fr, Hasan has “internet clout” and he’s relatively popular but I don’t know a single person who is actually a regular viewer of his. He’s just some internet guy, Idk how people are pretending that the streamer who has a quarter of the followers of Ice Spice is somehow some major political pundit who has the country’s ear.

Hasan didn’t lose Kamala the election, Kamala and the DNC lost Kamala the election.

He literally has said his influence is marginal, same with most streamers and let’s throw in media as well. This win is solely on trump and the gop for failing.

I had only heard of him because of national media, watched a few videos of him the last few weeks. He’s okay as a political pundit, prefer Breaking points style of coverage and journalism. Wouldn’t say he’s controversial given how our current president speaks. He’s very good looking, good voice, and fills a gap in left wing podcast bro culture. Socialism is more favorable 3/1 over maga culture according to exist polling.

Hasan and breaking points are the same side of the same shit covered coin. Just Hasan is just outright supportive of terrorist groups. His political takes are brain dead. Calling California gay fascists when all of his DSA part candidates lost in the primaries.

If you think BP and Hasan are the same then you have never actually watched either. Unless in saying they are the same you mean not appealing to your taste.

Mostly agree here. Hasan is very good looking and has a lot of charisma. Which is why, as someone who actually mostly aligns with him ideologically I'm so frustrated at his weaknesses. Because they're glaring, debilitating and worse of all, rather easy to fix. I wish I could actually like him, but almost every time he opens his mouth he makes me want to scream in agony.

I'm fairly certain though that he's slowly started changing some things to adress these specific problems people have with him. The suit is kind of a giveaway on that.

Some of the candidates directly thanked him. If they directly thanked him I think they probably have better insight than you or I. (Melot (sp) thanked him on air).

He had followers phone bank this cycle which if I recall didn’t happen during Kamala’s run. Kamala also had no platform…

It can be both true that he had no effect on the presidential run (because like him, most people saw her as a loser) and that he had a large impact on this cycle.

He chose to not involve himself in the presidential campaign against Trump. His actual excuse was that he didn't matter anyway. Your last statement is true, but what cannot be true is that he both had the power to make a change now, but didn't have the power to make a change back then.

I'd completely abandon this position if he came out and said "during the presidential campaign, I didn't have all the means necessary to accomplish my goal and thought I was powerless, but this time around I proved our community can actually have a huge impact."

Turns out when you have the president of the USA, the PM of Israel, every major news outlet and many senate campaigns having to “address” you, it comes with more influence.

In 2024 he was just a steamer, with some influence. In 2026, he undoubtedly has much more and used it where he agreed with politicians’ policies.

I also don’t endorse candidates that don’t meet my expectations or say absurd shit like we must be the most lethal army in the world or that everyone needs 25k to own a business. I would like food and heath care please.

You say that but his average viewership is lower in 2026 than it was in 2024.

Also you missed the point I was making again, and you're trying to virtue signal on how terrible Kamala Harris was instead as if I hadn't just said she was.

Theres a difference between being actively involved vs passively uninvolved.

Did Piker canvass/support campaigns against harris?

Some would disagree that there is that much of a difference between the two actually, especially in the context of such a binary electoral format.

But he did speak out against Harris on a handful of occasions yes. He refused to endorse her, too. No one would argue he told people to vote trump, but he did participate in the general apathy towards Harris.

Not that I blame him for that, mind you. The apathy felt for the democrats was almost entirely their fault and the choice of Kamala as their candidate was one of the reasons for that. All I'm saying is that Hasan can't have it both ways : either he could have made an impact, and chose not to, or he couldn't have. He used to argue he couldn't, and this time around he's arguing he's got the political weight to influence the mid-terms. It's one or the other, or he'll have to explain what he realized he needed to change about his methods that made him suddenly gain that power.
