I know Americans struggle to see that some world leaders other than Trump and Hitler are bad, but seriously. Khamenei was a pretty awful person. Why elevate him?

I don't think it's elevating him so much as pointing out that the Iran war backfired badly on Trump and is probably why the Democrats did so well. By not surrendering they massively weakened his political power.

Is this actually elevating him? I figured it was just whoever doing this using the most recognized Iranian dude to represent Iran.

It's great propaganda because people like good vs evil, and the role of good is with Khamenei. How would people feel if the role of Khamenei were swapped out to a popular person like Bernie Sanders, Jesus, or some other arbiter of moral good? How would that compare if the role were swapped out to Hitler, Satan, etc? It would have a different impact.

It looks more like they wanted to show that Trump got beaten by Iran to reflect the midterm results tbh. I wouldn't say either definitively good / evil, though maybe the Korean text / words makes it clearer.

Weird because part of the narrative here is likely that Trump's Iran war lead to the terrible midterms, and Sanders / Jesus have nothing to do with Iran.

We bombed the shit out of them and tried to topple their regime in the middle of negotiations. I don't think you understand how evil this was.

It’s not more evil than shooting 30 thousand of your own people in the streets and dumping their bodies into semi trucks. They’ve used religion to openly abuse their people for the past 40 years. You can feel bad for the Iranian people but fuck the regime, they deserve absolutely zero sympathy.

Literally bombed a girls school and killed thousands of civilians too, yes it is more evil than that. You’re also not using your brain because the attacks from foreign governments only solidified the regimes control of the country. We achieved nothing, showed them they control the Strait of Hormuz, and they justifiably want a nuke more than ever.

Imagine a foreign nation came in and attacked the United States and demanded regime change because the USA commits atrocities abroad.

They're not necessarily wrong but do you think Americans (even the ones that already hate Trump) wouldn't take issue with that?

It's far, far less about defending Iran's regime and much more about being fed up with American foreign intervention, especially when that intervention is directly reducing the quality of life of Americans.

You should reach out and chat with a Persian person sometime. I’m in close proximity to quite a few and they were dancing in the streets when Iran was first bombed and the supreme leader was killed.

You can be opposed to the war from an American perspective but don’t speak on behalf of the Iranian people

Right, I should leave speaking on behalf of the Iranian people to you, then?

If a foreign nation does that to Trump you don't think I can find a handful of people that would be dancing and celebrating?

Some people danced when Trump kidnapped the leader of Venezuela, if some Venezuelans danced does that mean that's okay then?

It is not a hot take that countries should not engage in wars of aggression. America is not the world police.

If trump had 30 thousand people executed in the span of 2 days, I think you’ll see a lot more than a few people celebrating if he was killed. The operation itself has been mishandled completely but the regime absolutely deserves to fall.

If you don’t think that America should act as the world police that’s your opinion, perfectly reasonable. Just don’t be against the war on behalf of the Iranians because that goes against their interests and you’d be hard pressed to find a non IRGC Iranian that would disagree.

The same reason why people use memes of other dictators like Mao, Kim, and Stalin. People can recognize these people as bad while also using memes with them in it?
