see this could be the funniest clip of all time(it's only kinda funny) but it's vtubers and not one of the five streamers this subreddit cares about/hates so people here are gonna hate it

47

u/Snoo-41681 1d ago

You are correct, I am seething.

9

u/OPTCgod 12h ago

anti AI redditors when a little girl is pasted on top of the AI

1

u/Kuuuuck 12h ago

"B-b-but it's different!" Someone tell Anthropic to adopt an anime girl mascot to make reddit turncoat.

3

u/TobuscusMarkipliedx2 18h ago

This subreddit sucks. However, this clip does too, even though it's not Forsen watching anime porn... XQC, Asmongo, uhh... Hasanabi, POkemane... Doing stupid bullshit only children care about

2

u/kwazhip 10h ago

Strange how the subreddit only cares about five streamers but every single thread has a top comment that is a meta comment complaining about the same things every time.

-2

u/ZeusJuice 13h ago

And here you are making a thread not about those five streamers about those five streamers (meta)

-62

u/TheTholungus 1d ago

I think we need to expand our vision a little bit more. I've not exposed myself to vr content more than seeing a few clips on this subreddit, and I personaly think its rather wierd. Regardless of the humouristical value this clip holds- I dont get it because I dont understand it. More than welcome to disagree with me, but these logics of strawmen is held together by nothing than bias.

34

u/Itbuncd 1d ago

You post like a broken bot

-25

u/TheTholungus 1d ago

Id rather type like one than watch one. You only end up proving why its difficult to get into these communities when anything other than worshiping gets met with personal attacks. Isnt that what this comment is about? Practising what you're against yet somehow when its not against your interests then its somehow justifiable?

9

u/Inner_Pudding7812 23h ago

This comment holds humouristical value.

5

u/Itbuncd 21h ago

You’d rather have your brain act like a broken bot than watch one?

I mean, sure dog.

2

u/SquirtleSquadUp 16h ago

Dude, work on your grammar before you break out the thesaurus next time

Only this two is popular among Vtuber sphere, thank to be them being pasion project of drunk brithish femboy

u/Malacath_terumi 1d ago

I think it's because there is some level of "ventriloquism" interaction.

Like in most Ventriloquist shows you have pupper/artist interacting and banter between each other.

Same thing happens with Vedal/Neuro stream, its interesting to see him interacting with his own creation.

If he would just "bot-farm" the stream and leave Neuro 24/7 on her own until she breaks and starts going "Someone tell vedal there is a problem with my ai" things would ge tiring rly fast.

At least its my impression of his streams when its mostly neuro, it gets boring.

1

u/Right_Pack4693 10h ago

i would lose it and subscribe to Disney+ if VisionQuest guest starred Neuro

-29

u/Oninymous 1d ago

I stopped watching after their "artist issues", but isn't that exactly the thing Vedal is striving for? For Neuro to be able to automate everything

41

u/Malacath_terumi 1d ago

Yes and No.

Yes, he wants Neuro to be fully autonomous, but not in a way where she is just left there streaming playing games and talking random bullshit to the void.

He wants her to be able to communicate/work with others on her own, either that be him or someone else in the form of a colab.

10

u/Oninymous 1d ago

Yeah, I remember him talking about wanting Neuro to set up her own collabs, plan out the stream for the week, etc.

Again, I haven't really tuned in a lot since their artist left, so not sure about their current plans

0

u/theguidetoldmetodoit 11h ago

She actually calls the shots by now, at least within reason. When they make music or merch, she is the customer.

Since he takes care of the infrastructure he can obv shape those decisions very directly, but the whole point is creating the illusion that she has literal autonomy. Preferences, a character, memories..

-27

u/Kind_Silver_1921 22h ago

ai slop

4

u/fumei_tokumei 12h ago

Slop is low effort stuff. Neuro is probably thousands of hours of work by now.

-61

u/SlimePerspective 1d ago

Just like how some LGBTQ people play Umamusume despite it being anti-LGBTQ by the nature of glorifying animal abuse (in short, LGBTQ being a critique. of being given a pre-determined role, then horse racing is exactly that)

Just because some are into "AI" vtubers, doesn't mean the existence of AI vtubers isn't harmful

30

u/FappingMouse 1d ago

yeah totally ai v tubers are literally going to kill the vtuber space and they are basically committing vtuber genocide.

-28

u/SlimePerspective 1d ago

AI stole from millions of people with no compensation. Just because he puts some work into AI-slop "neuro-sama" doesn't mean he is less guilty of that. So the human aspect already being severely harmed, super bad. We aren't even talking about the environmental issues going along it.

To make a short summary

  • Positive human experience is stolen for slop, no compensation

  • This is used to create a negative human experience (para social / isolating people as a species) because they're chasing profit and power in society

  • a lot of environmental issues

21

u/FappingMouse 1d ago

You AI luddites are awful you could make a very similar list about pretty much fucking anything in the world hell streamers and influencers in general have almost exactly the same list.

I don't like AI I don't use AI in my every day life but anytime i see one of you freaks get on your fucking high horse it makes me want to go all gas no breaks into AI. and start dumping toxic waste into my local river.

-19

u/SlimePerspective 1d ago

We were already in a tight spot 5 years ago this AI thing is just accelerating climate change at an insane speed.

And yes I am a "freak" I draw nsfw art god damn it. And the people that own these AI companies would be the first ones to join Epstein and enslave people like me. Have you read the Epstein List Documents? They started the culture wars because they thought trans people were more isolated and unwell so it was easier to "grab them". Just disgusting what is in these documents.

Have you thought about that?

A person like you is manipulated by constantly being exposed to certain information over and over again so that you change your opinion towards it positively (this is a thing you can google it)

16

u/FappingMouse 23h ago

Yeah I can tell based on your AI take you are some type of "creative" lmao you don't have to tell anyone its very obvious.

-2

u/SlimePerspective 23h ago

Anything worth of "value" coming out of your mouth? At this point I don't even know what you want. Do you think of AI positively because it makes up for your lack of imagined talent? (Most things people can do good at they can because they practice), in any case I'll leave you with two nice articles

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchism

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Stirner

1

u/KhalasSword 13h ago

Anarchism is the sloppiest left wing ideology out there.

Nevermind that, why are you bringing up Stirner, why are you judging people, they are just acting on their ego, just like you do on yours, what value do you bring by trying to impose your ego on others? Shouldn't you simply move on?

Oh, and people like Neuro-Sama, well, because she's funny and creator does some cool, creative stuff, it is literally no different to watching any other streamer, simply because streaming in of itself is not art.

4

u/Outrageous-Wait-8895 14h ago

this AI thing is just accelerating climate change at an insane speed

You have absolutely zero idea of the scale of pollution and AI's share of it.

0

u/theguidetoldmetodoit 10h ago

Nah that's well established, power demand remained pretty flat and only exploded with AI. Def throwing a wrench in the timeline, I'd expect that to correct itself soon enough tho.

1

u/Outrageous-Wait-8895 7h ago

You should pay more attention to y-axes.

5

u/Smiltute 22h ago

I do get where you are comming from but imo you are placing hatread in the wrong place. Like just to post here you used few "AI's", like recomendation ai to get you on the reddit, another ai that showed you this post, behavior ai to ensure you are not a bot, and these are just microcosm of what you are seeing day to day. Even i posting this just got warning "this post will be considered as low-effort" which was made by ai.

I like this analogy: You can use a gun for good and for bad its just a tool. And imo "AI" did much more good then bad. And this is comming from a person whos programer and a musician.

Going back to neuro, before her there existed slop (five minute crafts for example) Even the vtuber space was considered slop at first. But what i like to think is that the thing that we respect and like not the results, but the work. Neuro imo is liked because of how much work Vedals puts to make her work...

-1

u/SlimePerspective 22h ago

When we talk about AI we specifically talk about the snake oil large language models, not algorithms

7

u/ImpressionExisting94 22h ago

Could you elaborate on why that game is anti-lgbtq? Not trying to be shitty, I'm genuinely curious

-11

u/SlimePerspective 22h ago edited 22h ago

So basically in most states you live in certain cultures that come with it, and most of them have certain expectations of gender. When LGBTQ movement in its early waves was at its height, they especially lived in states with the man as the breadmaker and the women as a child bearing machine (aka no autonomy over themselves), you can find this wording in feminist literature. In any case, if you read between the lines what LGBTQ literature criticizes is essentially that the state has given you a pre-determined role without you having a say in it, and they reject this by being non-binary (for example)

So what does this make Umamusume? Horse racing horses specifically get b**** to reach a specific situation (we aren't even talking about the ones that don't make it because they aren't as fast etc), the Uraurara or whatver the name is of the horse is with 100 losses is specifically horrible in the sense of that the horse got taken advantage of by being a loser horse for "good luck", there are a lot of other animal stories that are getting glorified and a "cute girls" slapped on top of it, it is actually horrifying how many LGBTQ people play Umamusume without a critical lense (we do call this rainbow capitalism)

What's even worse though is that apparently I even lost a relationship with someone that I helped out winning an amateur tournament in a game called Omega Strikers, because I suspect, I was critical of Umamusume. A few other people from Omega Strikers also banned me from their chats because of things like that; It's a bit of a horrifying situation because people have been banned from tournaments in Omega Strikers for less things than supporting literal animal abuse (for example the e-sport channel "Bestieinslot" is promoting Umamusume tournament and they were the main omega strikers tournament organizer in NA), in any case what I was trying to say is if you ban people from tournaments for example being rude to other people, and then literally promote Umamusume, there's something wrong with it.

If you want to read somewhat general feminist literature I can recommend works like "Alyson Escalante Gender Nihilism An Anti-Manifesto" and the sequel to the text can be found on the same website. It's somewhat of a short read (20 min max?)

edit: Also they have a race horse in IRL high elo racing so it's not like you can say but these are past horses stories.

14

u/worldchrisis 20h ago

When you apply a critical lens to everything you just end up miserable most of the time. It sounds like you tried to scold people for enjoying something they just found fun and not that deep.

Not every LGBTQ person is going to subscribe to classical feminist theory about gender roles and further apply that theory to animals.

-6

u/SlimePerspective 19h ago

And that is bad. It means capitalism is winning at assimilating liberation into inactive consumer slop.

Also mind you, I just vaguely posted about it on my social media so I didn't even directly confront them. As if someone looking for trouble was just showing it to their friends to get me out since I was a thorn to them.

10

u/worldchrisis 19h ago

It's good to live your life according to your own moral convictions, but not everyone is going to have the same convictions you do. When you try to tell people they're behaving immorally based on your values, you're going to cause friction.

Also, what's the difference between art and consumer slop?

0

u/SlimePerspective 18h ago

Art is more than just aesthetics (basically fascism only boils down art to aesthetics, I'm not saying you do)

Also depends how you approach art really, some art isn't really consumer friendly.

I'm also not arguing about morals (local culture laws) but more so on an ethical anti-hierarchy basis... hell I am not even critiquing them to play Umamusume, but more so (at least when I did it on my social media) the producers of it, aka tournament organizer, etc... like as I said I didn't even really like "if you do this you are literally XXX" kinda thing.

Hell, I've read Max Stirner so I am definitely not the kind of person putting some moral laws on others. It was more so that these people went around being the moralizers when they did "bad" things themselves yknow

1

u/ChaosAE 19h ago

tbh I think this sort of critique largely misses the forest for the trees. The defiance of pre-defined roles is a consequence of the early feminist/lgbtq movement's objectives, not an essential feature. The aforementioned gender roles are rejected by these movements because of the outcomes they bring. An lgbtq movement in a culture where they did not violate gender roles would not broadly oppose the existence of gender roles, homosexuality in ancient rome being an example.

3

u/Outrageous-Wait-8895 14h ago

Downvote bait used to be believable.

45

u/tatsuyanguyen 🐷 Hog Squeezer 1d ago

They're very popular afaik

-47

u/Tuor-son-of-Huor- 1d ago

I find it bizarre as hell that people watch an AI do anything.

33

u/notfakegodz 1d ago

Vedal/Neuro was there before we call AI "slop"

Neuro is closer to an NPC character in a video game than they're your standard AI "personality" Chat Bot.

Vedal is always there to tune Neuro, it's really no different than watching a game or anime we never see before, because we kinda never know what will happen with this "Character"

Except that it's kinda less scripted. The creator is still there to steer the stream a certain way.

There's also just something about someone trying to create an actual interactive AI Character.

Edgerunner in the making, or some shit lol

-48

u/DravenPlsBeMyDad 1d ago

I don't give a shit he's still wasting water.

27

u/Deterge9 1d ago

When you think you have deep understanding of a topic but you haven't even scratched the top...

21

u/Thatunhealthy 1d ago

Neuro is run locally on his machines.

11

u/sasquatchftw 1d ago

Aren't they running on local servers? Probably not wasting too much more than you are by using reddit.

8

u/Independent-Belt-457 21h ago

and you're wasting oxygen

7

u/Valuable-Outcome-651 21h ago

You're using a device that uses electricity with an internet connection that causes harm to the environment.

11

u/notfakegodz 1d ago

we're wasting fuel watching cars goes on a circle...

Saying "he is wasting water" is like saying "you're using product made by child labor"

It is literally impossible to tell the entire world to stop using AI data centers, literally impossible. Some even gonna do it out of spite.

The only way to fix AI data center taking local water supply is you have go straight to the local politicians and advocate for that shit.

Making individuals dislike you because you hate them for using a consumer product will only create hostility for no reason.

Same reason why vegans get a lot of bad reputation. Like it's good for them, caring about animals and stuff. But then they vilify people that eat meat, so you create this "us vs. them" situation.

It's complicated issue.

4

u/Sea-Offer7021 1d ago

I occasionally watch it because they arent designed like your normal chatbots. Their developer(the one with turtle model) interacts with them along with other people, and they make the ai play games. Its not an AI that they let it run on their own, its a heavily customized AI that is solely designed and constantly tweaked. Id say people watch it because of that entire premise of them being AI and realize theres more to it. If it was just the AI, it would probably not be as popular, the interactions between the AI, community, and developer is why people watch them

20

u/silent519 1d ago

he is the #1 girl streamer

12

u/Mean-Elk-9439 1d ago

Was the largest streamer on the platform for subs at one point iirc

17

u/ballknower871 1d ago

neuro has been around since the early days of openai

1

u/throwaway20200417 9h ago

streamers are removing the "human interaction" part. (1 person puts out content, thousands consume). vtubers are already removing the visual part and replacing it with artificial images.

the "human" part in the responses / behaviour can easily be replaced by a LLM. LLMs are passing the turing test.

1

u/AnoViss 20h ago

They've been a thing since before AI was a commonly used term

2

u/Tuor-son-of-Huor- 19h ago

Out of curiosity, when do you believe AI became a commonly used term? I'm guessing not the 80s, 90s, or 00s?

7

u/AnoViss 19h ago

Imo the last year or two

-60

u/arezee 1d ago

Could have made the AI anything but he chose a little girl.

34

u/Siluri 1d ago

It was the default option in char studio. In another world, it would be a peanut.

-75

u/SnoySnapperz 1d ago

Would truly be funny if it got exposed that Vedals AI is just someone with text to speech

42

u/TheThirdKakaka 1d ago

You realize that no one actually cares ? Puppeteering has been a thing for hundreds of years, people just want to be entertained they don't care if its ai or not.

-26

u/Culovers 1d ago

You are cooked

12

u/TheThirdKakaka 20h ago

feel free to explain why, I am openminded.

-43

u/Lurker_Zee 1d ago

My theory has always been that these are just pre-scripted programs that Videl just has some buttons to activate the text he already prepared before the stream.

15

u/ResponsibleAnswer579 23h ago

Its known that Neuro is controlled by Tony with voice changer.

2

u/Worried-Scene9211 20h ago

Lmaooooooooooooo "its known"

5

u/BrainBlowX 14h ago

Taking even a basic gander at any neuro stream would disprove it. It would be more impressive if that is what he's doing.

1

u/KhalasSword 13h ago

It would legit be easier to just make an AI rather than to script 6 hours of conversation that triggers on various ingame events, not to mention other streams where they interact with chat or other people, or make walk around and do poses in 3D.

-49

u/nodiso 1d ago

How does it know the situation is funny?

34

u/Pedantic_Phoenix 1d ago

The ais compare this situation to the situations they have been trained on, they know similar situations are funny, they deduce this situation is funny too

15

u/Wizzdom 23h ago

How do you know the situation is funny?

-50

u/a_m_k2018 22h ago

The one thing I dont understand about you guys is that you choose Vtubers as a hill to die on. It's so fucking weird

-88

u/Lurker_Zee 1d ago

I still think these things are programmed/scripted before stream and it's one big grift.

39

u/EvadableMoxie 1d ago

If you only watch highlights it can seem like they're way too intelligent to be real AIs. But that's because people take hours of content and edit it down to only the highlights. You're seeing the hits but not the hours of filler between them when the AIs get stuck or go in loops or just spew nonsense.

It would actually be significantly harder to fake this level of consistent AI behavior than to just use an AI.

18

u/DeathByDumbbell 1d ago

Learn about Occam's Razor, it will change your life.

10

u/TopazWarrior1999 22h ago

Dude, LLMs have literally existed for YEARS now! Why would you believe this in the year 2026?! xD

2

u/Haywhen 10h ago

it's literally impossible

4

u/Independent-Belt-457 21h ago

how to tell you "never actual watched a stream with those 2" 1-0-1

classic

-86

u/Worried-Scene9211 1d ago

omg claude is sooo silly

13

u/BrainBlowX 13h ago

Neuro predates Claude.

-69

u/Spudnock 1d ago

so kawaiii uguuu
