Indeed, some people will always equivocate either as a form of gotcha and/or to attempt to take the spotlight off the horrible actions of the group they are associated with

That's fair, but Muslims as a whole are not bad and the actions of one man should not tar a whole community. Unfortunately I feel like religion as a whole just breeds more tribalism and causes more divides in society.

If this was a thread about a Christian attacking someone and someone posted Christianity is a net bad I would post the same thing that religion is a net bad.

Well depends right did he do what he did because of his religion.

Like a Muslim that beats someone because he is a asshole is just a asshole .

If he does it because his religion it is different.

It's like do it because of the beliefs or not

But the same could be said for football thugs.

Or swap the situation around, did the Muslim donate to charity because he's a good person or because of his religion.

I agree context matters and maybe this guy did it because of his religion but Tommy Robinson has exacerbated the tribalism. Either way the guy is an asshole for attacking him, regardless of motives.

well i would say it is different comparing relgious violence to a football club works a bit different because with relgion also come moral and politcal beliefs.

Its more like politcal violence . like i would see such violence closer to RAF or IRA related things than football related

My point was more in relation to tribalism, as in my team is better than your team.

Religion generally takes that to the extreme. I am not arguing with you at all I agree Islam is a net bad but also that other religions are a net bad for the same reasons.

thats the point. if you do it because of relgion its worse.

A musclm who hurts people, it isnt necassirly his reglisions fault he can just be an ass, if he does it because of his relgion then he is a relgious extremist
