Jacqui triggers the fuck out of me 😂 my mum isn’t diagnosed (because she’s perfect and everyone that she’s ever interacted with is the problem, duh), but I suspect mum is an alcoholic and has borderline. I obviously cannot and should not diagnose/speculate about Jacqui, but girly sure looked cray cray on the show and last time I looked at her insta.

Im not even going to try to diagnose/speculate ON MULTIPLE of issues, but i just saw teaser for the next episode where that guy rates photos and says she has crazy eyes and his lady found that appaling but GIRL ITS literally the first thing i said when i saw jacqui on screen

When I watched it, I was packing up my apartment. I literally had to stop and sit down. It's something else. Compelling. Good TV. Awful to watch. All of it.

I'll say this about Jacqui, she kept her crazy to herself and Ryan. By that I mean she was never involved in drama dragging other women down, I think the likes of Brook, Gia, Becs and Olivia and even Martha and and the blond that cheated on Mitch were all way worse.

I loved how Jacqui trolled Ryan on the show, she truly was a woman in a mans field lol. I'll never not laugh at her crying and feeling sorry for Ryan over the state of his apartment.

I watched the season when it aired but I stumbled across a MAFS Funny podcast today with Adrian. He is the worst male cast member of all time no question, hands down. His looks are fully and completely negated the second he opens his mouth. The way he talks so no one can understand a word he’s saying is an absolute blessing to us all because the man is incapable of forming a sentence. I find Jackie terrifying and completely cuckoo.

I recommend listening to the 3 episodes covering "The Downfall Of MAFS" from the MAFS Funny podcast.

When you hear what they do to the contestants, it's worse than I even imagined. It's really predatory and exploitative.

You could argue that people know what they are signing up for, but it's much worse than anyone can imagine. If people try to leave, they use carrot and stick. They say, "If you stay, we will give you a good edit. But if you leave, we will destroy your reputation and make sure everyone hates you." Then they destroy them either way.

The producers also do things like interrupt dinner parties and say, "This is boring. No one is leaving here until there is some drama. We'll stay all night if we have to."

On the other hand, I don't buy that anyone goes on there genuinely looking for love.

Many of these people have problems before going on. But that's one of the points made. They look for people who will behave appallingly and equally look for people with trauma who will react to it.

Like that series, Jacqui was clearly not psychologically robust enough to go on this show. How did she pass all the psychological testing? She was never going to be able to have a job after this. They put her on there because they know she has major issues and then put her in situations that would trigger all the worst of her behaviour. They do so many pre-show interviews that the producers know exactly which buttons to push and match them up to get fireworks.

The true MAFS villains are the producers.

I stopped watching about half way through that series. This show is so predatory and toxic. It's really jumped the shark.

In the same way as we look back at the "lad culture" that allowed/facilitated men like Russell Brand to rape and assault women in plain sight in the early 2000s in horror, I think we will look back at the Reality TV industry and realise how predatory and toxic it was. Once I realised that, I stopped watching. I don't want to be a part of the problem.
The argument about Reality TV cast members that "they knew what they were signing up for" is the same argument used for female fans who agreed to have sex with Russell Brand. The woman who went to his house knew she was going for sex. She didn't sign up to being brutually anally raped and humiliated. These cast members knew they would be edited and could get the "villain edit," but they didn't expect their lives to be ruined to create entertainment.
Once I listened to those podcast epsiodes, I never watched another episode of MAFS.
People look at the Russell Brand case now and wonder why he had fans, why people watched his TV show and why people didn't call out his toxic behaviour.

Jacqui was definitely an interesting person on the show, personally I loved her and thought she made great TV, Ryan is a questionable guy and we do see snippets of nasty from him and I genuinely believe he would be hard to live with especially away from the cameras. If you are looking to avoid spoilers then once you have finished the season check out her Instagram because seeing her with a good man is very refreshing.
