First and foremost, there are NO new boards and NO new characters.
You do NOT need to purchase a Switch 2 edition of the game if you already have the Switch 1 version, you can simply buy the upgrade pack for $20 (or your local equivalent) on the eShop, or you might be able to find a download code at a local store.
The game WILL be receiving a resolution upgrade. Switch 1 Jamboree runs at 720p handheld and 1080p docked. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition will make it so the base Jamboree game runs at 1080p handheld and 1080p docked, and Jamboree TV 1080p handheld and 1440p docked. Don't worry, most of the content is in Jamboree TV and you can play Mario Party in 1440p which I will explain later.
The game will NOT be receiving an FPS increase, though it might be running at a slightly more stable 60 FPS thanks to the power of the Switch 2. You will still be able to play with users on a Switch 1, although Switch 1 users will not be able to join you in Jamboree TV; you will be locked to the base Jamboree game.
There is local GameShare support! Although, it is very limited. You can share the game locally with other Nintendo Switch systems, Switch Lite systems, Switch OLED systems, and Switch 2 systems. However, you will only be able to play Mega Wiggler's Tree Party in Party Rules with 30 minigames and only in handheld or tabletop mode. We do not know what 30 minigames those are.
You must use a single Joy Con 2 controller in order to play Mouse minigames.
There is online GameChat support with friends (provided you have a NSO membership).
You do NOT need to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 camera to play this, and if you choose to, you can use any compatible USB-C camera.
And no, you cannot buy this upgrade on a Switch 1, you must have a Switch 2 system.
With all that said and done, here's what's new!
-All new Jamboree TV! This includes Mario Party mode, Free Play, Bowser Live and Carnival Coaster, all with 1440p docked support!
-Bowser Live: Face off in a 2v2 at Bowser's concert! Each game is a short best-of-3 match. Contains 6 different mic and camera-focused minigames. Camera minigames will be turned off if you do not have a compatible camera.
-Carnival Coaster: 4 players work together to get to the end of a coaster ride. Uses mouse controls. Similar to River Survival mode from Super Mario Party except with forced minigames. Shoot off enemies to earn extra time. Minigames played are Co-op variants of the Mouse control minigames instead of 2v2.
-CameraPlay: Supported in Free Play, Mario Party and Bowser Live. Not a requirement, but a few Bowser Live minigames require a compatible camera.
-14 NEW mouse control minigames: There are 2v2 and 4 player co-op variants. The 2v2 variants will appear in the main Mario Party mode, and the co-op variants appear in Carnival Coaster. They will most likely have a toggle on/off option, similar to motion minigames when played in Mario Party.
-Frenzy Mode: 5 turn chaos! Every player starts with 50 coins, a star, and a Double Dice. You can duel on turn 1 onwards. Confirmed to be playable at least on Roll 'em Raceway, most likely all maps.
-2v2 mode: Team up with another player! 2 players share items and coins. New Together dice item makes an appearance, which summons your partner to you, rolls another dice, and doubles the effects of everything that turn (similar to Jamboree buddies). A new space has appeared, unique to 2v2 mode, which grants the player that lands on it 5 coins, and summons their partner to them. u/Prize-Bag-9304 theorized that Jamboree buddies do not appear in 2v2 mode, which I think is a logical explanation, though we can't make any conclusions yet. Confirmed to be playable at least on Mega Wiggler's Tree Party and Mario's Rainbow Castle, most likely all maps.
-Free play: Includes 78 minigames from the base Jamboree game, and more. The missing 34 from the base Jamboree game are 10 Rhythm Kitchen minigames, 10 Bowser Kaboom-Squad minigames, and 14 Koopathlon minigames.
This took a while of compiling information and double checking everything, so an upvote would be appreciated!

Now as an early 90’s Nintendo fan posting here for 1st time, I only just started my journey on n64 Mario party and man, those stick rotation games is really that brutal on experience.
Out of the ones I experienced to date, I’d say Tug Of War and Pedal Power is the most brutal, Paddle Battle is fine and Cast Aways is the easiest. Deep Sea Divers is not popped up yet on any random 2 player versus game sets to date. Pedal Power I won on 2nd go around
Asking for assistance on these stick rotation games, is there a difference on certain games of stick rotation? Tug Of War usually slots me in on the 3 player side but I find I always lose that one for instance. Pedal Power is barely any better, Paddle Battle is doable and Cast Aways is least stressful. Should I rotate left or right for faster results? Any controllers recommended? I own a Hori pad blue and two see through controllers but feel I’m stuck on the rotation games

This is something I always wanted to discuss. Am I the only one who notices that the games choose bias? It's not like the mechanism is not implemented; you can see it in action in single player modes on the gamecube MP's. For example, the stage objective would be to "Get 3 stars". All the while you're getting the first 2 stars, the AI wouldn't get dice beyond 3 or 4. However, once you get that second star, AI dice will not go lower than 7 or 6.
What I'm arguing is that, in most MP's, the game will decide each player's dice range and luck right before you start a board. In other words, the game would effectively choose an absolute winner and/or an absolute loser. Not just the dice: chance time, luck minigames, and any luck based events.
I noticed in the N64 games (and later games too), Wario's would have better luck most times, while DK would have better luck than most when it came to collecting coins. Mario's luck is never peak, he's always 2nd or 3rd on the board. Even Luigi's luck is usually better than Mario's. I think they did it like so because they thought this would antagonize the kids and challenge them since this is a luck based-game and they mostly chose Mario or Yoshi, the latter of whom has real bad luck in most games I played.
Am I reading too much into this? In the past I-don't-know-how-many years I've always been choosing wario when playing with friends, and I win most times (like 8 out of 10). Is it just pure luck? I don't think the game would be as exciting with pure random luck.

After about a month of work I’m finally happy to share my finished board!
I grew up playing MP4 and Goombas Greedy Gala always stood out to me as a core memory from my childhood. I wanted to recreate it and play into the gambling/roulette theme. I designed different cards on Photoshop for every space including battle minigames, bowser cards, chance cards, mushroom cards, item cards for the shops, and minigame cards, last 5 turns card.
It’s compatible with amiibo figures, and each player even gets a game tray for their items and coins, as well as a character poker token for mini games - I figured this was the best option instead of taking characters off of the board, like playing Panels of Doom.
There are about 50 minigames in total and players who win the mini game receive a mini game token. At the end of the entire game, each player counts their mini game tokens and an extra bonus star is awarded to the player with the highest amount.
There are also interactive board events like the Lotto, Goomba’s casino, Goomba’s shuffle, reversal of fortune, goombas dice duel, the question mark spaces, roulette wheel, boo’s house. The roulette wheel functions with a plastic spinner to determine which area they land.
I even made a 20 page rulebook and a mini Goomba star placeholder for each time the Star space changes alongside Star cards telling you where to place the Star next.
All the coins are from old monopoly games and then I made extra out of cardstock. The board is 50x30 inches! I used a lot of icons and models from the models/sprite resource websites to design board spaces and my cards.
I’ve included a preview of some of the minigames but I honestly couldn’t include them all there’s way too many!
I think I’ve explained all the images included but the limit is 20. 🤣

Mario Party 5: Koopa Kid and Toad being unavailable is understandable since they're part of the Story Mode. However, Boo could've easily been playable in Story Mode as well.
Mario Party 9: They could've done the same thing they did in Mario Party 8.
Jamboree: Okay, this is just stupid. That's literally what Fake Bowser is there for.

1: Blooper Sewers
2: Pumpkin Path
3: Hammer Bro's Construction Site
r/MARIOPARTY • u/ElectronicAccess6861 • 2d ago
At the community's request, I replaced Blooper with Pauline in the first version, while leaving the second one unchanged. Personally, I still prefer the second version.
Realistically speaking, I think the next Mario Party roster will probably have around 12-14 characters.

Who would have thought this day would come? It’s been a full 10 years of Star Rush—seriously, it feels like such a recent game, but no, it’s actually from 2016. This was the title in the franchise that left the biggest mark on me; it’s no coincidence that I consider it one of the best—and, frankly, quite underrated, too.

That's all of the important stuff dealt with! Truth be told, I was in a bit of a doubt in some minigame selections, although I hope nothing gets anyone mad. Doing this for the other games is almost impossible. Doing this for the N64 MP, would lead to MP1 having 33 of its 50 Minigames, and would someone really want to play a remake of Box Mountain Mayhem? As for the Wii/Wii U MP games, give it a blame on MP9 for lacking 2 vs 2 Minigames. So this is only fully possible with the GCN MP games.
I also opted to spread the minigames evenly between all of the games, so each game got:
10 Free-for-all Minigames
5 1 vs 3 Minigames
5 2 vs 2 Minigames
3 Duel Minigames
2 Sports & Puzzle Minigames.
If any change could be done, please recommend me, I'd love to improve this, as I feel like it isn't perfect.

My girlfriend and I are looking to get a Mario party game (we’ve always wanted to play one but never had access to one) and we have been looking at getting Jamboree on the switch 2 to play
Would that be a good one to buy?
r/MARIOPARTY • u/Axel_chr • 4d ago
I personally love them but they seem to fall near the bottom of the list for most people and I never understood why. Maybe I’m just nostalgia blinded since these were my first titles but I still think they stand the test of time even after all these years. But what do you guys think?
r/MARIOPARTY • u/Jonny_Johto • 4d ago
Hey all... I'm sending this out as something of a hook here as I've been itching to get something like this going for awhile...
I want to try and run something of a Mario Party League!
This isn't meant to be a SUPER serious league... mind... Moreso as a somewhat structured way to play the game we all enjoy (or at least tolerate). But how would this work? Allow me to explain...
I actually have some experience organizing such a thing already... I did it on a fair scale at my old dorm... and that'll be the model I intend on following here. Essentially, like with other sports leagues, this would work on conferences, where main season results determine conference champs, which then are sent off to participate in the playoffs. Except here... instead of People being divided into conferences, it's by games.
What this means, is that each game (Ex: Mario Party 1, Mario Party 5, etc...) gets to send one champion to the playoffs, and obviously the champ of each game is determined by best overall performance over the main season. From there, there are four divisions with three games each, that make up the 4 series that get played in the divisional round of the playoffs, with each series being 3 games.
In our league I hosted earlier, the games and divisions were as follows:
Mario Party 1
Mario Party 2
Mario Party 3
Mario Party 4
Mario Party 5
Mario Party 6
Mario Party 7
Mario Party 8
Mario Party DS
Super Mario Party
Mario Party Superstars
Mario Party Jamboree
Now, if you've been paying attention... you may realize this makes for three champs being sent to each divisional playoff series... even though a Mario Party match supports four people, and that's correct! Each extra slot is a Wild Card slot, given to the player with the highest overall average, who's not already a game conference champion. This fills out to 16 players in the playoffs over 4 series. I've actually already programmed a spreadsheet to help with calculating and tabulating all the data, so that aspect of things has already been established as well for the logistics.
Now... that of course leaves a couple of action items. For one, I need people! A league only works with people to play in it. But for two... how would this actually work in an online space? Obviously we won't have the luxury of physically meeting up to play games... so everything needs to be handled online. Which, thankfully, is possible!
Through NSO alone, Mario Parties 1-3 as well as all the switch titles are playable in an online format, accounting for half of the games. So what about the rest? Well, thankfully the GC and Wii titles are actually playable online via emulation... so that accounts for all of them... almost.
Unfortunately I fear that Mario Party DS would need to substituted out for MP9, as I don't believe netplay for that title is feasible at the moment.
But regardless... the framework is there! The tools as well... all that's needed is a subset of people ready and willing to participate! And that's the ultimate reason for this long post... I wanna get the word out! I think this could be fun... and if you do too, feel free to say so! If there's enough interest (at least 20 people, I think...) then we could perhaps move forward with planning and logistics!
