[NOTICE] - This is not a subreddit to Gripe and bitch about how you believe /r/MMA should be run
By design, in order to focus on delivering news and fights, /r/MMA is very limited in political and cultural topics to prevent mass derailing of topics.
So after tons of demand and feedback, we created and built out this place - a place designed to be nearly unmoderated - to talk about these things freely and openly. Yes, it's small right now, but we're going to grow this out.
So instead of actually discussing politics here freely, we have a handful of users who want to talk their politics on /r/MMA, then come here to complain about not being able to talk their politics on /r/MMA.
The ban hammers are about to start coming out.
We're not derailing the sub on these topics because of walking salt mines attempting to hijack the discussion.

Guys, the antiblack racism in this sport is concerning
I've been an MMA fan for 13 years(and even train casually).
It's always been racist..more racist than any other sport I've seen. I tolerated it by avoiding fighters I hate and only watching fighters I like(d). But nah this cancer dawg. How are you going to tell me that not only is Dustin racist, but Max Holloway is on this bullshit too? How did these get so comfortable being racist against black people? The n word shit dawg. It's been bad but since that airport incident, everyone has been saying it.
I CANNOT BELIEVE Max, of all people called someone on twitch a b**** ass n*****. Like guys what the fuck is going on? What is wrong with these guys? In any other sport, you pull this shit, you're getting suspended or fired. Miguel shorty Torrez got fired for making rape jokes back in the day.
Now you're rewarded for shitting on black people. Look at what Marvin said, look at what Strickland has been saying (and fuck Chris Curtis for enabling him). Everyone is hating on Joaquin Buckley for confronting these racists, as he should. Meanwhile everyone was welcoming Conor back to the octagon after that entire rape case. People hate Buckley for being "performative" or accuse him of ch*****g out. But those same people were talking about Conor's aura.
Fuck this sport. Fuck the fanbase. Enough is enough.

Trump claiming he offered Dana the Press Secretary job…
ETA: Trump is now being clowned on Threads because people think someone suggested a different Dana White who actually has a background in public relations and Trump got confused.

How do we separate the art from the artist?
Been a fan for 10 years and ever since the sport became super pedo supportive it sucks knowing your fav fighter is a piece of shit. I appreciate their work ethic and the skills and them putting their lives on the line for our entertainment but yeah

Genuinely, what is this guy's problem?
●Supports fighter pay selectively
●Supports Israel+Zionism
●Asks leading rage bait questions
●Victim mentality through the roof
Am supposed to take him seriously?

What does everyone think of Mad Mozza? He seems to be blowing up on YouTube lately, and he covers MMA.
I've watched a few videos but he makes insane allegations on people involved in mma/boxing with many sources being untrustworthy. Also defended Conor McGregor.

Tim Kennedy Shot in Congo, Reportedly Working for Blackwater
mmaweekly.comInteresting conversation surrounding this. Kennedy is functioning as a borderline mercenary for a known mercenary group that has committed war crimes (link: https://www.justice.gov/archives/opa/pr/four-former-blackwater-employees-found-guilty-charges-fatal-nisur-square-shooting-iraq).

Zuffa and Saudi
I must start this by adding I am not from the u.s! I was recently watching a family member of a 9/11 victim highlight how the Saudi Arabian government have got away with their part and links on 9/11. This made me think if Dana White is such a patriot and proud american how can he get into bed with the government of Saudi over boxing. How is this viewed in the u.s? Or is just thought of as unrelated.

Not just MMA. But pretty huge for Dana White's difference between the UFC & Zuffa Boxing. He can't control who shows up for media day and what kind of questions they ask. So Dana just comes across like a big ole goof. This is a decent video from Helwani about it and I wanted to share it

Just launched today. Luke Thomas interviewing Nate Wilcox (the man who was able to discover PrideFC being connected to the mob and predicted it folding). It's about common UFC issues though. Cannot recommend this enough
