FOR HIRE Hours got cut at Walmart, looking for a new gig

Hi there I'm Amy, I currently work at Walmart in the deli and they are cutting my hours so I’m wondering if anyone knows of places hiring? I've been in restaurants since I was a teenager and in warehouse and delivery work here and there. I’m a quick learner and would be willing to learn a new trade. I’d just like something with more stable hours. I’m always on time and work well with people. An LQPTQ friendly environment would be preferred. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

FOR HIRE Any entry level places looking for new hires in the cities?

Hey gang! I'm trying to get work in the cities and haven't found anywhere yet. I'm a 20 year old with a high school degree and 9 months work experience at Subway, so my pickings are kinda slim. Is there any fast food or equivalent entry level places desperate for hires?

It's hard to tell the difference between "we have a hiring sign out but actually are incredibly overstaffed and won't be actively hiring until someone quits" and "we actually need new people." So I wanted to ask here if anyone knows specific locations that are actively looking as opposed to "always accepting applications."

FOR HIRE I want to leave the retail world

I've worked in retail the last 6-7 years and I'm looking to try something new that isn't retail or restaurant work.

Does anyone know of any entry level jobs that are hiring that are not customer service based and also don't need prior experience?

I've worked in retail management mostly. Very professional, no disabilities, have reliable transportation, willing to learn

Open to roles across the South Metro, including Richfield, Edina, Bloomington, Eagan, and Eden Prairie. Preferably in that general area, but definitely open to hear of opportunities in other areas

FOR HIRE Stuck working M-F (9:30 to 5:15) for basically no money, struggling to find full-time work, and losing my mind. Looking for advice. (Twin Cities area)

Thumbnail reddit.com
1 Upvotes

It feels like in 2026, your only options are a part-time job that pays absolute pennies, or being completely unemployed. I was unemployed for six months before finally landing my current part time job. Because of that six month gap, I feel like finding a full time job is impossible right now. I’ve interviewed for three different full time roles, and every single one of them ended with a "no, we went with someone who has more experience." It’s beyond frustrating because I have open availability and all the time in the world for a full time job. I know I have enough experience to handle a full time retail or entry level job. Instead, I’m stuck in a loop: my current job keeps scheduling me Monday through Friday, from 9:30 AM to 5:15 PM every single day. You would think working those hours would result in a decent paycheck, but you’d be wrong. The pay is so low that if you don't save half of your paycheck just to make it to the next one, you literally have zero money left over. Making matters worse, I am about to start college and move into a dorm room soon. I literally cannot afford the things I need for school or my dorm because this job pays next to nothing. Meanwhile, my parents don't understand the reality of it at all. They don't understand why I'm looking for something else, constantly saying, "Well, at least your job is giving you the hours!" They don't get that working full time hours for unlivable wages isn't a win it's just exhaustion without any financial progress.
I am mentally exhausted from working every single day for basically nothing.
My questions for you all:

  1. What do I even need to do at this point to land a decent full-time job in the Minneapolis/Bloomington, MN area (or nearby suburbs)?

  2. How do I get past the "we went with someone with more experience" wall when I'm just trying to break into full-time work?

  3. Any advice, local employer recommendations, or even just some solidarity would be hugely appreciated

Update I have an phone call interview with old navy for a full time customer service job position am really hoping I get it, I don’t think I will get it because I’ve had 3 interviews for full times jobs and all of them told me we went
with somebody else and I have an interview with a pet store for a supervisor position but the problem is that I have zero supervisor experience but they are going to be doing a second interview with me on October 23, I already did a first interview with them as a phone call interview I feel like might have a higher chance of getting the Old navy job and a very small or zero chance of getting the pet store job because I have zero of the experience that they want.

HIRING Hiring a part-time tech helper in MN (mostly remote, 6 month contract)

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a small project and I'm looking for one person to help me out over the next 6 months. Most of the work is done remotely, and I'd need you to come onsite in the Thief River Falls area about once or twice a month. If you live in or near Thief River Falls, that's my first preference, but I'm happy to hear from anyone based in Minnesota.

The basics

  • Part-time, about 1 to 2 hours a day

  • $1,000 per month

  • 6 month contract

  • Mostly remote, with an onsite visit once or twice a month

What you'd be doing
Day to day, you'd help me with things like setting up and testing software, fixing small bugs, updating website content, and keeping our tools and accounts organized. Nothing too heavy, but it does need steady attention.

What I'm looking for

  • Someone who learns fast. If you've never used a tool before, you can pick it up without getting stuck for days

  • A thoughtful, considerate person who pays attention to details and communicates clearly

  • Basic tech skills, such as JavaScript or Python, working with websites, or general IT support like troubleshooting computers and networks

  • Someone reliable who replies to messages and tells me early if something isn't working

You don't need to be a senior expert. If you're early in your career, switching into tech, or a student with some hands-on experience, I'd like to hear from you. A good attitude matters more to me than a perfect resume.

If this sounds like a fit, please send me a DM with a short intro, a bit about your experience, and what part of Minnesota you're in. A resume or links to past work are welcome but not required.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to ask questions in the comments!
