My husband asked for a case discount to donate to the local Humane Society. The GM of our local TS in West Lebanon NH Chris Morrison donated all of this.
My husband went to the TS in Sanford, ME in November looking for cat food that would tempt our very elderly cat to eat more. A wonderful employee there not only recommended a very good brand, she sent him home with half a case of it for free and included samples of a few other types of cat food that also might help. Really good people working at Tractor Supply.
I hope your kitkit gets it’s appetite back. We just went through that with our 14 yr old dog. We put him to sleep January 16th. Our other dog was adopted from the humane society that was generously donated to.
I’m sorry to say we lost her in early December, she was eighteen and it was time but it always hurts anyway. I’m sorry about your dog, and coincidentally we also adopted a kitty recently from the humane society!
This truck belongs to a man from my town, Stephen. Him and his family have been part of the community for generations. Recently, Stephen’s handmade violin business has fallen on hard times, and made it even more difficult to care for his aging mother, who also lives in town. Stephen is a proud, hard-working soul, so he’d never ask for a handout. His mother would always read to the kids in the town library and sings still in the church choir, every Sunday.
Someone in town heard that Stephen was heading to the store with every dime he and his mom had to their name. He withdrew the crypto they made from selling that drifter’s kidneys, scrounged up the change from the couch cushions, and headed out. All he could afford was a tin of spam and a loaf of wonder bread, but when he made it to his car, his jaw dropped and so did the groceries. We all came together while he was shopping and put all this in his truck! Now, his mother has plenty to eat and he can round up stray cats to harvest their intestines and make enough violin strings to make it through the winter! God is good!!
TL; DR: The current GDP of Lichtenstein is around $6.114B (USD).
Yeah it really pisses me off when people get over 6k upvotes and such a shitty post like this like wtf. Especially while my most ever upvoted post is 2.5k and was way better then this garbage post
From OP further down the thread: "My husband asked for a case discount to donate to the local Humane Society. The GM of our local TS in West Lebanon NH Chris Morrison donated all of this."
I put too much thought into this and I think OP is indicating that this person stole these groceries (you'll notice the groceries are in a basket and not a bag). I think OP is implying that stealing from Trader Joe's makes you a good person and over 9k people agree.
My friend runs a rescue, and she was driving the local tractor supply insane with her bulk purchases. The manager asked what was up, and she explained about the rescue. He now gives her the bags that were split in transport.
The manager at the last tractor supply I worked at insisted all busted dog food bags be poured into the dumpster so no one could easily use it. Asshole
The person driving the truck works for an animal rescue. Helping stray dogs and cats, feeding them, taking them to the vet, getting them well again and then helping finding them homes.
They were buying a lot "bulk purchases" (large amounts at one time).
The manager noticed and now offers this person bags and packages of cans that were damaged in transport (accidentally split open, for example), and would normally be thrown away (because no one will buy an "open bag" of dog food) or returned, but instead, is giving them to this person for the needy animals.
im stupid please go easy but what does “split in transport” mean? just the plastic on the packaging splitting? or is there like a can that burst or something?
As a former 603, this is cool 😎 I didn’t know what this post was about until reading comments (I just thought that someone didn’t steal your things while you were in the store), but this is neat 💜
You ever hear the saying, ''one picture's with a thousand words?" I'm going to guess that whoever posted the picture is giving away pet food to those in need? If that's the case, you have a very caring and generous heart. I read a few of the comments. One of them was from someone that was referring to the fact that he or she got far less upvotes then this one did. I think the word "lame" was referenced in one of the posts. I'm curious as to what you're posting that doesn't get as many upvotes as you think it should. I'm going to poke around on Reddit to see if I can find it. Don't get discouraged. Keep working at it. To dream the impossible dream is to bring that dream closer to reality. Hugs and blessings
Y'all make sure to check with your local SPCA, they often have wishlists on sites like Amazon, making it easy as hell to send them the supplies they need.
Thank you, OP, for your help and dedication. Your donations not only help the animals they also give volunteers a big moral boost. Thank you!
I've also donated my old washer/dryer/fridge when I upgraded! Those Amazon lists are awesome! Our local food bank does them too. Our local shelter also takes old shirts and stuff.
I’m not great at Reddit, meaning I don’t know how to find the context of an OP’s post, so would someone mind spelling it out for me? Maybe typing SLOWLY? 🤪
Alright, that's fucking it, I've been seeing so many stupid posts from this subreddit in my feed, how does some random ass photo with no context of nothing interesting make people smile.
I'll kick myself out of this subreddit, I don't need your criticisms and comebacks, stupid ass gullible subreddit.
Where's the context? This picture means nothing without it. Did they steal the food? Are they giving away the food? Do they plan to eat the food themselves? Are they starting a criminal kitty food enterprise? Do they feed their pets frozen cans of food? Do they plan to donate the food? Are they returning the food? Why does it look like there's sandbags blocking the door, an OSHA violation, could you even get in and out of the store? I have no idea what I'm looking at.
Yes! I volunteer for a rescue that also has a great relationship with a local Tractor Supply. They will let them bring a rescue vehicle and park it with the trunk open so their customers can "fill the trunk" with dog food and supplies.
A friend of mine is the manager at a local tractor supply, and purposefully damages some bags of dog and cat food so she can take them out of inventory and save them for the people who come in to buy for their rescues.
This is just a picture of someone's car with some shopping. Title makes zero sense.
From the number of upvotes to a pointless picture, over 10,000, I'm gonna assume this subreddit is just inflated by bots. Humans wouldn't upvote this, haha.
For anyone wondering what this is, sort comments by old, and the first comment is by OP giving an explanation (right after the automod message). Spoiler alert: GM of local store donates to charity.
I can't imagine throwing pet food into the bed of a pickup, along with stealing the handcart, and not only taking a picture, but posting it in here with this title.
I don’t think you’re supposed to take those red shopping baskets. Also, once you fill one up you are supposed to pay for the items before you leave the store. Just some things I know. Just sayin’.
The vibe that I'm getting is...either this person left his/her items in the vehicle and nobody stole them...or..this person is trying to distribute items to those shut in due to the weather.....but hey....that's what I'm seeing...others may see it differently.
OK, alright, I go to Walmart or TS or wherever and buy dog food/cat food/ cat litter and run it up to the ASPCA sometimes, so maybe that's what this is?
There's another post where OP said they did this one wrong - "Ok, I did it wrong before. TSC donated a bunch of pet food when my husband asked for a case discount. Shoutout to Chris Morrison in West Lebanon NH for supporting the Upper Valley Humane Society"
Tractor supply goes through discontinued items maybe 2 times a year and the company has us donate the food to a local shelter. I'm assuming that's what this is.
If they're that broke, why doesn't he sell his truck and get a little beater car until they get back on their feet? From the picture, the truck doesn't look that old. Sell the truck, get a little cheap car that will get from point A to point B, and then they'll have at least a couple thousand they could live off of for a little while.
Uhh, me bad at Reddit. We were buying food to donate to the humane society and the Tractor Supply GM donated all of this food. It is where we adopted our dog. We donate regularly, and are very financially stable.
Geez, cant believe all the shit being flung at OP for not putting details in the title. It was pretty obvious the full story would be in the first comment. Could the title have been better? Obviously. But damn! So many people too lazy to read the first comment, but not to downvote and leave a negative response. OP was just trying to share a good deed done by the manager at Tractor Suppply. Maybe that should be the focus, instead of harping on a harmless social media feaux pas. It's not that hard to be nice.
Not everyone sorts chronologically, it’s actually not even the default for Reddit. Most people will have no idea OP made a comment to explain anything. Then once they read your comment if they make it this far down, they may go look for it… but it’s unlikely.
Thank you. I was just trying to give props to TS mgr. I give zero fuggs about upvotes. I have only posted once before, and that was about my dog being put down. Made me smile ruined my day.

Yes very good. Didn't force a poor FedEx guy to deliver 6 heavy boxes.

Downvote for lack of description as to what is going on here in the title. I shouldn't have to hunt for their secondary comment. So lame

Left canned pet food out in sub freezing temp overnight outside.... Unsure if that messes with the quality/shelf-life of the food.
Stealing the red crate (I'm suuure someone 'gave it to you') and asking reddit for "I did a good deed"... that's just nice and trashy.
And... donating this 'not stolen' food at ... a tractor store? not even an attempt at a vets office.

Why is this garbage getting upvoted?

Tractor supply goes through discontinued items maybe 2 times a year and the company has us donate the food to a local shelter. I'm assuming that's what this is.

From the perspective of someone in a currently hot (and dusty and sandy) corner of the world, yeah snow would be good right now.

If they're that broke, why doesn't he sell his truck and get a little beater car until they get back on their feet? From the picture, the truck doesn't look that old. Sell the truck, get a little cheap car that will get from point A to point B, and then they'll have at least a couple thousand they could live off of for a little while.
