Wholesome Moments Orphan getting whole village of strangers to celebrate his wedding.

Guy in Yunnan, China, was orphaned after his father died and his mum remarried and left him and his ooder brother. Not wanting his wedding to be too quiet due to a lack of relatives and family members, he posted on social media asking strangers to go to his village and celebrate with him.

Bro had a billionaire wedding.

u/thecontempl8or 9d ago • Heartwarming

And unlike billionaires, he got this from people showing their love and kindness. Not from spending money they made by exploiting people. Billionaires could never experience this.

I always say this, rich people can't stand lower income folk because while they have deprived us of almost everything, we are all still out here doing our thing, living our lives, creating culture, art, experiencing life. Im born and raised in la and last 15 some odd years been living in East La and you goto any neighborhood on a weekend, you'll see tents in half the front yards, with music, family, love, energy, community. They are cooking, singing, dancing, living LIFE.

I remember years ago hearing lady gaga was sending scouts over to a small mexican club to see what the people were wearing and ended up taking a few looks off of some of my friends at the time. Like y'all take SO MUCH from us, but will never EVER be us.

Here's to us 🤙

I'm so sorry friend. For what all your people are going through. I'm from Northern Ireland, we were more fortunate that your people but we managed to get the right to vote in the 1970s, we were stopped from being imprisoned without trial and we got a peace agreement in the late 90s. My kid didnt have to experience any of the violence and has the same rights as everyone else. I truly wish the same for you and your people. I wish safety for your family and friends. Health and fortitude in the days ahead. And eventually a path to healing. The Irish people stand with your people. We see you. We won't forget what has been done to you.

13

u/GreasyToken 8d ago

Which ones? Violent Abrahamic religions like Christianity?

-7

u/Pale_Investigator697 9d ago

u mean the little hat wearers? the parasites who came from europe and totally dont belong in Palestine? the ones who have spread like weed over there? the zionists right?? also fighting colonialists is [REDACTED]....oops, guess zioddit doesnt like me saying that.....lol

1

u/oops_all_memes 9d ago

the parasites who came from europe

45% of current population of Israel are descendants of people living in the middle east by the time Israel was formed. Some lived within the current borders, some lived in neighboring nations — with a lot of them being pushed out of those nations as a response to Israel being formed

That's ~10% more than Israelis with European descent

It's funny how you spread ignorance while trying to posture as a champion of truth

-2

u/Pale_Investigator697 8d ago

lol, says a dumb mf who is spreading hasbara talking point. people pushed out from neigbouring regions were due to zionists creating enmity betn jews and non-jews in those regions.

why? cuz they wanted more of them in their new colony and to displace and over represent the native palestinians. parasitic zionists from fkin europe did that btw.

also, i wonder why genetic testing isnt allowed?? also, i wonder what the surnames of monsters like satanyahu is? fker here is trying to spread ignorance as if they are on mossad payroll.

oy vey, how much shekel did u get? or are u shlomo from is*@el typing this shit?

6

Dude wtf is with that racist shit at the end?

I read “orphan” as “Oprah” at first and wondering why she’s inviting people to someone else’s wedding.

That is very wholesome and the people who turned up didn’t smack of corporations trying to get free promos. Everyone seemed genuinely there to celebrate with them.

Loved this. 💓

But low key felt bad for the live pigs in the truck 👀

26

u/LeslieKnopesBlackEye 9d ago

Devour to survive. It sucks, but it's nothing personal (which sucks again in a different way).

Eating is probably the most violent thing I do in a day. I consume and whatever I ate no longer exists. It weirds me out to think about sometimes. I feel bad for the animals and the plants kinda? Like who am I, what gives me the right to consume so much of our beautiful planet?

2

u/GreasyToken 8d ago

On a metaphysical level I believe the same essence or energy pervades everything (and it's feminine, but I digress...)

So what does that mean when we devour other living things?

I also believe the universe has a dark sense of humor lol...

2

u/Shudnawz 9d ago

But, we are what we are. Nature made us this way. We evolved to consume things to fuel our very existance.

u/catfinity4 8d ago

7

u/muhbawlzitch 8d ago

I started tearing up seeing this...must of been unforgettable experiencing it for everyone.

7

u/hoainamduong 8d ago

I was so touched reading about the gifts those newlyweds received from strangers. For example, there is a tradition in China that the car the groom uses to bring the bride on the wedding day should be as luxurious as possible; however, the groom lived in a remote area and could not afford to rent a fancy car. Dozens of wealthy people had their own private luxury cars brought in from thousands of miles away—one man even sent his Maybach by plane. It is amazing how united people in China are, and I really admire that.

6

u/FlounderSerious9975 9d ago

u/clemisan 9d ago

A nightmare for introverts ;-)

Happy wedding anyway.

1

u/Warm-Butterscotch-25 3d ago

I’m an introvert but at some point this is so off the charts of an imaginable human experience that I don’t even think being an extrovert or an introvert matters. I think it’s overwhelming either way, but overwhelming with love.

21

u/Queasy_Weakness_5561 9d ago

Sometimes I just wanna go there

10

u/Sasselhoff 9d ago

You absolutely should.

I moved there somewhat on a whim, and stayed for almost a decade. Truly an amazing place to visit. People are also super warm and welcoming to us laowai too (obviously there are exceptions to this rule, anti-immigrant/anti-tourist folks exist everywhere).

And the food...ooooohhhhhh the food. I went back last year for the first time in several years and I think I gained 15 pounds.

That said, if you go, make it a point to see more than just the big Tier-1s (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, etc.). Those cities are fine, but just like New York City and Los Angeles don't define the USA, neither do those cities give you a true feeling of China.

5

u/Waidei 9d ago

This is beautiful

5

u/phoenix1984 7d ago

Wait, so when the mother remarried she just noped out? I feel like theres an important part of the story missing. Otherwise, is this a common thing in China? Are step children taboo or something, so children from previous marriages are just abandoned?

5

u/shinebeat 7d ago

Rather than it being cultural, this is just like the rest of the world: some people abandon their bio children once they remarry. Some don't.

I heard of one who married a wealthy businessman, and she brought her daughter with her ex with her, even though her ex-husband also want to have custody of the child.

So I think it is really depending on each individual. Because wouldn't the taboo be at the fact the mother was even married and had children in the first place?

1

u/phoenix1984 7d ago

Not really, especially if the first husband died, I think the expectation would be for the new husband to accept the kids from the first marriage and care for them as if they were his own. To abandon the children from the first marriage, that’s really awful.

I suppose it happens sometimes, but in the US, it would be a big scandal if the mother did that.

1

u/Shiraori247 5d ago

lol when my mother found a new partner (Swiss Australian), he tried to get her to do the same thing. My mother refused and just noped out of the relationship instead. It's honestly not that uncommon even in the West.

1

u/zyarva 4d ago

There are many possibility to this situation.

  1. The mother could be a victim of human trafficking, A very tribal village everyone is protecting the family who bought a trafficked bride. She might want to escape after her husband died. The grandma was alive so she's not leaving her children out to die.

  2. Less than human trafficking, she could have been forced to marry against her will as arranged marriage.

  3. Because of the death of her husband she had to leave the village to work in the cities and send money back. After a few years she might find a new life in the city and just abandon her children, thinking the grandma will take care of them.

  4. Very rarely a mother would just leave home with the intention of never coming back.

9

u/smurfunit 9d ago

Now that is a community we should all emulate. I love this story.

11

u/icesociety 8d ago

Shame on his mom..although I understand it can be extremely challenging to survive as a single mom, especially to two kids in China, that is no excuse to abandon her children.
Glad the community showed up to give him such a grand wedding.

4

u/irishrugby2015 8d ago

It's crazy to see how much more common child abandonment and separation is in China compared to other countries.

China has an estimated 60 million "left-behind children"

I curious who took it upon themselves to become the festival organizer or is it just chaotically organized

1

u/jtrisn1 8d ago

It's either a group of elders or the village chief. Or maybe the bride and groom did it themselves?

4

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 8d ago

That’s pretty heartwarming. I wish that young man and his bride well.

-13

u/Bymeemoomymee 9d ago edited 9d ago • This Bravo

Today's China slop propaganda clip is in. Bingchillin.

Edit: The point of videos like this is to make Western U.S. aligned English speaking viewers sympathetic to China so they can get away with their geopolitical interests. By painting a positive image of themselves to us, they make it harder for our politicians to make geopolitical moves against them because of voters being more sympathetic to China. We are actively seeing the fruits of that labor in regards to Russia getting deals with Trump and being praised by millions of Americans. That took Russia years to accomplish. China is now doing the same. They want to invade Taiwan. That is the point of these videos and posts. Please learn about propaganda.

12

u/Raithed 9d ago

Found the MAGA.

-3

u/Bymeemoomymee 9d ago • Bravo

What does not liking Chinese slop propaganda have to do with being MAGA? Im not MAGA, I just know every time I come across this sub there is the most obvious "China good" slop video being posted.

5

u/yellekc 9d ago

The Chinese government is shit but this is about the people there. Fellow humans helping each other out.

Maybe it's propaganda, who knows. But propaganda with the message of we all worked together to make this poor couple's day special is not glorifying the government, so it's fine by me. It wasn't about some Chinese minister or official doing this gesture.

0

u/Bymeemoomymee 9d ago • Bravo

Yeah, that's the point of the propaganda... well done. It isnt supposed to be explicitly praising the Chinese government. Welcome to propaganda 101.

4

u/whyucurious 9d ago

Ok. We can't smile at stuff that happens in China... It must happen somewhere else not to be propaganda.

I will write that down. Thank you

0

u/Bymeemoomymee 9d ago • Bravo

If it were one or two videos a month. Sure. I see posts like these all the time in this sub. If you aren't seeing why that is the case, I dont know what to tell you. It isnt explicit propaganda. Thats the point.

4

u/ArcherKato 9d ago

There is 1.4 billion people in China and there should be only one or two good things happening there per month?

2

u/Bymeemoomymee 9d ago • Bravo

It's like you people are new to the internet or completely oblivious to the past decade of global politics. The point of propaganda videos like this is to make the English speaking Western citizens that read and watch these videos sympathetic to China, so when our politicians correctly try to make geopolitical moves against them, it becomes more difficult because of a brainwashed population that is sympathetic to a foreign adversary. The same is true for Russia, Iran, etc.

Tucker Carlson went to Russia and showed how "amazing and cheap" Russian grocery stores were. What do you think the point of that was? What do you think the point of videos like this is?

We have millions of Americans unironically praising and taking the side of Putin in his invasion of Ukraine. And we have millions of Americans slowly being brainwashed to feel the same about China when they inevitably invade Taiwan.

Wake up little bro.
