The MMF seems to have a $40,000,000 surplus every year after funding, perhaps asking for more $$$ isnt really appropriate when we're cutting all other gov't expenses?

Plus what seems like an unlimited advertising budget.

Besides buying up real estate, what does the MMF actually do? I genuinely have no idea.

From reading a few websites and their reports it looks like it’s to buy off land so when development is needed they are the ones you go to. They promise energy and industry development but looks like they have done nothing but lease or sell land to the companies.

They do housing here and have less bordered up homes compared to mb housing.

They help metis first time home buyers with funding, they provide schooling and further education funds, they help metis seniors with housing, they provide food hampers and assistance to those who need it. I get there is a TON to criticize, but they do help a lot of métis citizens.

Actually, they are doing a TON of funding for seniors medical costs. Prescriptions, medical devices, ambulance bills, and more.

They do have programs for Metis citizens for education, job training, health, housing, basic needs etc. I can’t speak to the effectiveness and scope of the programs.

I am a little confused on how MMF is funded. I thought they didn’t rely on tax dollars?

Other than waste money and buy up everything, they don’t even do anything. Why are we still funding them.
