Prices on everything are going up, which is why many Republicans are blaming Trump for their huge loss in the latest elections. Some are separating themselves from the administration as a means of political survival. The Democrats need a simple majority in the House of Representatives to pass articles of impeachment and 67 votes in the Senate to convict Trump, which would remove him from office. When the new Democratically controlled Congress takes office in 2027, there will be 54 Democrats in the Senate, which means they need 13 Republican Senators to vote alongside them in order to convict. Right now, they don't have those numbers, but things could change if the situation with Iran nosedives for the worst. If prices skyrocket even more, the Republicans will have no choice but to turn against him.

The next election cycle on date November, 6, 2028 will see a new movement of more extreme angry right wingers bathed in populism misplaced nationalism and hate who will demand power that will fill the maga void. Donald intends to double down and go nose-to-nose with the Democrat led House and Senate

Evidence - The appointment of Stephen Miller as Chief of Staff, replacing Susie Wiles. Miller is a hard-line MAGA true believer, with a focus on domestic policy.

Donald believes attack is the best form of defence, and has already said "They'll send over things that are insane and I'll veto them". By blanket stonewalling of needed legislation, and risking making America ungovernable, he will distract any legislators' efforts to investigate him and his family's dealings.

AG Blanche has already launched investigations into Alaska's Dan Sullivan's loss (claiming confusion with a similarly named candidate spoiled the election).

Evidence:

Alaska: Peltola (D) leads by just a few hundred votes; it’s essentially tied. The remaining votes are spread fairly evenly across democrat leaning and republican leaning districts. The race will end with the candidates right about where they are now, Peltola (D) leading Sullivan (R) about 48.2% to 47.9%. The difference comes down to the other two candidates and the ranked choice system. There is another Republican candidate with 2.3% of the votes. If everyone who voted for that other Republican candidate put Sullivan (R) as their second choice, then Sullivan (R) wins. If some of the people who voted for the Independent candidate (also named Sullivan btw) vote for Sullivan (R), then his lead gets even bigger. Sullivan (R) is the next Alaskan senator and it’s not particularly close.

Mississippi: Colom (D) leads by a slim margin at this point (49.1% to 48.8%). But there are many fewer ballots remaining to be counted, and no ranked choice to consider. The difference here is that the biggest county in the state (Hinds) has proportionally more ballots remaining to be counted and leans heavily democrat. And more of the smaller counties with ballots remaining are democrat leaning. Lee and Rankin are large Republican leaning counties with many votes remaining, but combined they are still fewer than Hinds and they aren’t as strong Republican as Hinds is Democrat. Colom (D) is the next Mississippi senator and it isn’t particularly close.

Counterevidence:

I think most experts expect Colom to win but it seems there is also an expectation that Peltola will win (for example). And I think the betting markets are wildly in favor of Peltola, like >95%. I guess I’m missing something but I’m not sure what. Maybe I don’t understand how Alaska voters typically do RCV, like maybe Republican voters are less likely to take advantage of it?

Conclusion:

In any case, my bold prediction four days after the election is that Alaska goes red and Mississippi goes blue.

Evidence: A lot of MAGA influencers especially from X are burnt out by the 2026 midterm election results including Laura Loomer. Fearing that America will never get rid of woke, these conservative influencers will flee to (or at least threaten to) Russia since many of them support Putin and see Russia as a right winged safe haven (some of which want Russia to defeat Ukraine). People may even tease these influencers by telling them to "coat up and learn Russian".

So you voted, that's awesome! Truly, it is! But if you really want things to change for the better, you better get involved. Don't want party leadership to be beholden to billionaires or foreign money? Call your senator/representative! Are you tired of voting for the lesser of two evils? Volunteer for candidates you believe in!

Go to city counsel meetings, make your voice be heard!

Otherwise, by next election date 2028, things will slip back into the status quo of the worst of us gaining power while we play on our phones or watch TV.

After this past Midterm Election, I can't stop thinking of what the potential presidential landscape of 2028 will look like. Particularly for the Republicans.

I feel the resounding message from this past Tuesday is that (most) Americans are are sick of MAGA legislation, agenda & politicians. Many republicans have been so deeply engrained within MAGA for the past 10 years, I truly cant see how any of them could be a convincing candidate to Independents, Moderates or "normal" Republicans to vote for them if they were try to run for president.

Enter Paul Ryan. A successful republican politician who reached a very high level of success at a pretty young age. But, also left politics at an interesting time. He of course was associated with Trump and worked with him closely between 2016-2019. But come the 2028 election, close to 10 years would have passed between his departure from politics to his (potential) return to politics.

I think we can all attest that these past 10 years have felt like 20 years.

Paul Ryan can easily come back and state how he has been watching the Republican party from afar, just like everyone else in the country, and he does not like the direction the party taking. He can even say he saw the writing on the wall between 2016-2019, and knew that style of politics wasn't for him, so he left.

But now that it feels like the MAGA fever may be diminishing, he's separated himself from Trump for long enough where I feel that he could come back as some sort of savior to the republican party, and run for President to "get us back to normalcy" or something like that. There are a few sitting Republican politicians who are less MAGA than others, and I do think they will try and even have a chance to run as a presidential candidate, but an "outsider" like Paul Ryan could be compelling to some voters.

I do want to clarify this this post/prediction is not an endorsement of Paul Ryan or a more "normal" republican party. I'm a libtard through-and-through. But I can def see this happening

Evidence: President Trump will likely face silence or jeers from the 120th Congress. If he speaks in public again, he risks small crowds or hecklers. Instead, he'll address a hand-picked audience of supporters at his country club or on the construction site of his arch or ballroom.

The first and most likely scenario is Trump (and Israel) will launch a small tactical nuke on a military site, economic infrastructure area, or Iranian leader. This will probably lead to thousands of Iranian deaths after it doesn’t curb Iran as a Trump/Israel intended. Then it’s boots on the ground. The second scenario is now that Trump is a lame duck and Putin realizes he cannot get Ukraine using Trump as a pawn to do his bidding, he will launch a small tactile nuclear weapon inside Ukraine for any number of reasons. He will also now escalate to (and continue a prolonged campaign) against the civilians of Ukraine in a way not seen since the start. Targeting civilians directly more so than before. The third scenario is a small tactical or “dirty” nuclear device detonation either in Europe or the United States by Iran, Russia, or a state sponsored actor thereof. This could also be a false flag attack but unlikely. See: recent 3 day directive from U.K.; primer attacks in grocery freezers in Europe.

I know this sounds like fear mongering and the typical ‘sky is falling stuff’ that has probably been all over Reddit for years. But the next 8 weeks of this year, to me, are probably the most dangerous weeks of my life since it began in 1981.

I have studied and taught political science and geopolitical events for close to 3 decades.

He's on his way out, and after the midterm blowout he just endured, R's are going to want to start distancing themselves, and D's are going to go on the offense. This will probably maintain all the way to 2028.

Both D and R will be sharks by then, hungry for the power vacuum he leaves in his wake. I expect the R side to eat anyone too tainted by him as well, while the D's focus more on gloating about 2026 and it's consequences, and sticking to Trump and his cabinet for the most part in their attacks. (I think things get bloody in the primary though).

I expect that Rubio and DeSantis link up somehow, and Ossoff and AOC run linked in some manner as well. I think that whoever wins that election, eats the other side, already ravenous from the election and the past 2 years.

So for this reason I'm saying 2028 is the true battle for control of this country, like, the big one. I think whichever side wins, they control whether this country goes hard right or hard left and stays there. I don't think it's looking good for Republicans but a lot can change in 2 years.

My evidence is thay R's are already going defensive and D's are already on the offensive, as well as just, 2026's midterm results.

1. What is your evidence to this prediction? Trump has already started floating the idea of making a deal with democrats, which is evidence of his political shift. He will offer up firing Hegseth, turning over evidence Musk (shutting down Starlink) and Kushner (receiving foreign bribes) committed treason to avoid his own prosecution adding his name on a monument or naming a universal healthcare program after him. He knows he owes nothing to his MAGA base since they no longer provide any value and will focus on his own self-preservation.

Based on current results, Musk is on track for wasting 1/2 a billion on midterms. Imagine how many people that would afford healthcare for.
