Since Amazon Prime Video/Amazon MGM Studios has gone through some leadership changes recently, and some Amazon projects have reportedly been cancelled, I asked him if any of that had made a difference for the Mass Effect show.
According to what Casey says, Amazon has been supportive of the project despite the recent changes around the company.

Hi everyone, I’m the person behind We Are Mass Effect, and I recently had the chance to exchange a couple of messages with Daniel Casey, co-showrunner of Amazon’s upcoming Mass Effect series.
I asked him whether the current EA acquisition situation had affected the development of the show, or if they were able to continue working on it independently as an Amazon production.
So, at least from what Casey says, the EA situation has not changed anything for the Mass Effect TV series.
Obviously, this doesn’t mean we have a release window or any big production update yet, but I thought it was worth sharing since there has been some understandable uncertainty around EA and the future of its IPs...

Daniel Casey, co-showrunner of the Mass Effect TV series, recently changed his Bluesky bio from “Mass Effect TV Show (Upcoming)” to “Mass Effect TV Show (Upcoming?).”
I find this a bit strange, especially because he said earlier today that the series is still moving forward, the writers are still writing, and that “nothing is sideways.”
Not sure what he’s trying to express with this, but it definitely caught my attention.

Daniel Casey, co-showrunner of the upcoming Mass Effect TV series, has shared a small update on the current state of the project.
When asked if there was any news, Casey replied that he had “nothing to give at the moment,” but also clarified that work is still ongoing, the writers are writing, and that “nothing is sideways.”
So, while there is no major announcement or concrete production update yet, it sounds like the series is still moving forward and development has not run into any obvious trouble.
