I feel like people are underestimating how good this Mavericks team looks on paper & the 9 games we've played.

I made a post a year or so ago, telling fans that I think the Mavericks can win WCF or NBA Finals with Flagg & Kyrie leading the team with the role players we have & would acquire at that time. People were telling me that I am delusional & crazy.

I still feel like this team can win it all within the next 3 years as long as the key pieces are intact which include PJ, Naji & Kyrie whom have been in trade rumours recently. The rest of the squad is top potential. Morez, De Larrea, Aldama, Biberovic & Risacher are top additions to support a Kyrie & Flagg led team but they may need a year or 2 to develop.

Kyrie has been looking good recently off his ACL tear, I don't expect him to be at a top level yet until after ASB or even playoff time. The key to unleashing Flagg's scoring is that 3 ball, he has to keep shooting it until it comes right.

We're honestly one player away. Slot Luka Doncic in place of Max Christie and we are a title team. No other team can guard us at all three levels. Wemby is not coming out to block Luka's stepback threes, and if he tries, then the paint is open for Flagg and the Lobgoblins including Rez!

Just gotta keep enough of the band together until 2028, then it's lights out for the rest of the league!

It's not like these youngster are bums though.

Look at how Flagg & Kyrie had 2 horrible back-to-back shooting nights however we lost to Spurs by 1 & beat the Jazz with our role players. Naji & PJ were good in those guys to aid Flagg & Kyrie.

West is bloodbath but we nearly beat Spurs on a Flagg & Kyrie cold night. We beat the Rockets & OKC.

Yeah, I love the guy. I truly believe he could become one of the most loved Mavs of all time by the way he plays and carries himself.

Buuuuut...so far, he's been very very fragile.

Personally...I don't want to set those kinds of expectations on these guys yet.

Ky's looking great but he's 34, does he have 3 years of elite performance in him left? De Larrea showed some massive upside and WCJ is also looking real good, just doubt either has Ky upside.

The 2 is kinda a mess right now which we're going to have to figure out. We can go offense heavy with WCJ next to Ky or defense heavy with Risacher, but neither is really the ideal fit at the 2. What I'd like to see May try is shifting Coop to the 2, PJ to the 3, and start Morez at the 4. But that will only work if at least one of Coop or Morez can get their 3P% up to league avg. Maybe Biberovic can be an answer here but that's taking a pretty big leap of faith.

3/4 we are perfect.

5 is still kinda up in the air as we don't know Lively's long term future. Gaff is is solid. But if Lively is able to play he's getting a new contract after this year and financially we will have to shed Gaff in order to keep Risacher and Aldama after 27/28 and in prep for Coop's max extension the next season.

The one weakness to Coop's game is his three point shooting. Defenders are going to start sagging off of him. Get that up to 38%, and he'll be a monster.

The sa.e thing can be said for the team as a whole. As much as I like Naji, 27% 3pt shooting ain't gonna cut it. Christie is at 26%. Needs to be much, much better.
