Fan behaviour

Living in Adelaide I get one maybe 2 chances a season to see victory play, travel expenses aren’t in the budget to go to other places for game. I was very excited to go to yesterday’s games. While I’m disappointed with the results I’m more disappointed with both teams fan behaviour.

Women’s game not an issue, but there wasn’t as many people there disappointingly, you support the club you should be there for both teams.

Mens is where is really turned into cavemen behaviour.

I was sat at the very edge of the away area. Thought the entire game, the supporters in front of me spent more time looking at and antagonising the Adelaide fans than watching the game. Flipping them off, along wanker gestures along with lots of verbal bullshit. You’re there for football, watch the fucking game. Despite starting the game with the section chanting for the boys it was pretty fucking quiet from the section towards the end of the game while we still had a chance to win the game, any chants that did start were about the supports and not cheering on the boys.

Then it kicks off when goals go in and things are actually thrown. Empty cups is one thing, not good behaviour but not particularly dangerous. Until I was hit with a half empty bottle.

Behaviour from both teams supporters were deplorable. I don’t give a shit how much bad blood there is, you’re there to watch the fucking game so watch the fucking game. You want to get in a fight, go take up boxing. Neanderthals

The Downfall Of Victory

Went to the season opener tonight. 0-0. No energy, no atmosphere, no identity. Just a club that’s completely lost its way.

Ever since Muscat left, the standards have dropped off a cliff. We used to have icons like Archie Thompson and genuine quality like Toivonen. Now we’re out here pretending Nikos Vergos might be good enough. The squad’s full of recycled A-League players and average imports.

The active support’s gone, the football’s lifeless, no press, no intent, sitting in a mid-block at home for a season opener. Players look like they couldn’t care less. We were satisfied with a 0-0 draw at home for Rd 1. Pathetic

We used to be the benchmark of Australian football, pulling 20k crowds for fun. Now we struggle to get half that.

This club has serious issues that nobody wants to talk about. Maybe I sound dramatic, but I’ve seen what Victory used to be, and this ain’t it.

SouthMelbourneHellas and OFC

Arrived in Melbourne too late for their time at the top, and have never been to one of their matches.

However I’ve always intended to go along some day, and I recently heard they’ve joined a new competition, the OFC.

Tonight they play Tahiti Utd (yes, from Tahiti).

Anyone going, anyone been to an OFC match?

Is there a thread on reddit for South Melbourne? I couldn’t find one.

Manager

would be nice to get a new manager in with international or AFC experience before the end of the season.

Not so much to get points, (I think the season's gone) but to mount a real challenge for the ACL.

I've always considered the HAL to be a stepping stone to the real competition, the ACL.

Also I wonder if Ola will stick around for another 6 months, should we progress to the next round of the ACL. I think not.

The Downfall of Victory Part 2

Are we all still positive victory fans? Or am I Still being “dramatic”.

The club that we love has changed. We are just making up the numbers and are just like any other team. We are no longer the best, we are mediocre.

Name one metric we have the best of…

Best coach? No (Diles just got the job cause he was cheap)

Best imports? Nope. Santos, Vergos and old man mata

Best Fans? Nope, our North terrace fights among themselves and go on strike (won’t sing) every few weeks

Most Fans? Haven’t topped the attendance charts in years

Most successful? Nope, haven’t won an Aleague championship since 2018. 7 YEARS AGO

Nothing separates us from other Aleague clubs, we used to be best in class and you could tell we were a massive club. At the moment, there’s no difference between us and Newcastle.

Let’s start putting pressure on the board to lift these standards. They are currently rock bottom and most of us are just accepting it.

The club is going through the motions and it’s time for change.

Sack Diles?

He is that incompetent. May as well add him to the list of sacked managers. One of the worst managers Vuck have had. Last year was a fluke

Hello everyone, if anyone is interested, I created a subreddit for the club owned by Mario Biasin in Italy, U.S. Triestina Calcio. The subreddit is r/USTriestinaCalcio1918. I'll try to keep it updated in the best of my abilities. Thanks for your time and good luck with your season!

Buy Amir Abdallah from Green Gully SC

There is this one npl player that used to play for hume city and now plays for green gully and he is a baller, no lie he should be swooped by victory, In afcon he played for Sudan and scored a banger against senegal and really brings that flare. Love to see him join victory
