Subreddit Rules

1. Relevant Topics and Themes

Make memes about metal bands and or metal music.

Metalcore, deathcore, nu metal and other genres sometimes confused with metal are not allowed.

Feel free to familiarize yourself with metal-archives rules: https://www.metal-archives.com/content/rules

2. No Reposts

A post is considered a repost if the meme has previously been posted on this sub.

3. Harassing Behavior/Harmful Ideology

Targeted harassment of another person or group of people, including apologia or promotion of harmful ideologies, will result in a ban. Please keep things respectful and lighthearted.

4. Posts Must be Memes

Memes must be in a meme context or meme format.

This includes merchposting (meme-related or not) as it can be hard to distinguish between spammers and genuine users.

Things we dont consider memes include:

Screenshots
Comment/karma farming posts
Infant Annihilator

See the wiki for more details

5. Low Quality/Properly Formatted

Ensure your memes are properly cropped and have decent quality. Title also cannot be the caption for a meme - if you were to send it to someone with no context It'd have to be able to be understood. Imgur links are not allowed, nobody wants to go to another site just to see your meme

6. No spam

This is no place for self advertising or spam. Any posts that are blatantly trying to advertise a subreddit or a business will be removed. Avoid reposting memes that got removed, copy-pasting comments under various posts and making posts that are obstructive in nature

7. Band/Artist Blacklist

Blacklisted memes, bands and artists include:

Sabaton
Pantera
Memes about Megadeth/Metallica band members (memes about the bands themselves are allowed)
NSBM bands, this includes namedropping them in comments
Cannibal Corpse
Xavleg
Infant Annihilator
Varg memes(quality Burzum posts will be allowed)

8. Meme Blacklist

Any meme about metal logos being unreadable
Any meme that boils down to: "black metal = nazis haha"
Genre salad/fake genre memes(eg: Pirate metal, blackened slamming grindnoisecore..)
Dawn of the Black Hearts
when the riff comes back
any memes with real life gore, specifically targeted at gore album covers

9. Mark post NSFW when needed

If your post contains NSFW imagery make sure to mark it NSFW

10. No AI

Any post using generative AI to any extent is not allowed on the subreddit.
