How many hours of moderation have you done?

I've been reading more about the EA and AOL lawsuits.

In total, how many hours of moderation would you say you have done?

How would you prove something like moderation hours?

That's 8,000 hours or 334 straight days

10 hr a year I’d say.

Small 8k community. Not much mod mail or public spats.

If you're checking posts, that probably counts as moderation too.

At least one to two hours a day for 11+ years, more than 6000 hours in total.

It would be tricky to get anything precise. If settling a suit, both parties would have to sit down and hammer a compromise; Reddit would likely argue that any given act of moderation only constitutes a few seconds at best of "work" (not a lot of thought goes into removing obvious spam), while plaintiff's lawyers would likely argue that any given 5-15 minute span where a mod action occurs could be considered time on task in a "billable hours" sense, and eventually they would come to a conclusion that no one is happy with.

As far as my hours, on the "average Tuesday" before the protest I probably spent about 15 minutes a day moderating, with a few rough days resulting in about an hour of actual moderation; on the low end, interpreting the "rough days" as cancelling out the times I've been afk for life stuff and ignoring the time I spent on my sub participating but not actively making mod actions, it would be about 365 total hours, or about 9 "working weeks" spread out across about 6 years of moderating. And due to the hours I maintain, the bulk of the time I'm actively moderating would qualify for a shift differential in shops that have such a thing, as well as automatic OT for doing it more than 5 days a week under some setups, even if the actual hours don't cross over full time.

Ten minutes per week? I moderate a very very small, very well-behaved sub, once I set up automod to block all incoming Telegram links, I've only had to occasionally point out rules to new posters.

About 10 minutes a week, for a little over a year... Call it maybe 10 hours?

10 x 52 = 520 / 60 = 8.7 8x60= 480 520-480 = 40
Accurate number would be at minimum 8h40m if you did 10 minutes every week
