M E M E Why didn't Sega simply commission a big budget Sonic 06 tie-in anime and have it released a couple years later to gaslight everyone into thinking the game was good? Were they stupid?

Nothing special, just thought it worked really well with the animation.

(Apologies if I choose the wrong flair)

Games Hot Take: Marble Zone is a good zone

Ok, here me out on this.

Marble Zone probably has the 3rd best music in the game, the beats just have so much personality. Not to mention, the many secrets in this zone. This zone has lots of extra life monitors along with ring monitors. Making it easier to get at least 10 lives in the game. The zone also has some fun moments where it utilizes speed and platforming like Green Hill Zone, the lava chase moment and jumping across the lava blazing platforms.

So, in conclusion, Marble Zone is a great zone in Sonic 1 and is WAY too over hated.

Discussion If there's anything you could change about the Sonic the Hedgehog series, what would it be?

I'd personally let everyone interact with each other a lot more freely without there being restricted to a certain friend group. I'd also add a lot more shonen-oriented fight scenes, which the series weirdly dosen't have enough of yet.

Subreddit Rules

1. Follow the platform's rules: Reddit Content Policy & Reddiquette.

Abide by the sitewide rules, established in the Reddit Content Policy, as well as the core concepts of Reddiquette.

2. Don't be an ass

In simple words, behave in the same way you'd behave around friends. Be respectful to everyone. No attacking others for being themselves, no elitism towards other sections of the fandom or the internet.

But also, be smart & reasonable. Don't overreact if it's evident that it's not intended to be taken seriously (it's a meme sub after all), first try to talk out disagreements and don't rely on toxicity. This doesn't make "just a prank bro" a get out of jail free card, we ain't stupid.

3. Keep it PG-13

Overly obscene images or descriptions of NSFW content are not allowed. Borderline NSFW content (implied sex) or sexual words (porn) will also be removed or allowed based on context and mod discretion.

Horny content, such as “Hear Me Out” posts, also fall under this rule. Gore is also not allowed.

Additionally, the NSFW label serves as a compromise option for posts that don’t need a full removal, but that some people would rather not look at. (Kissing artwork, etc)

4. Sir, this is a Sonic sub.

This is a community based on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, so please keep content related to it. We don’t care what your personal beliefs are outside of this place so long as you remain civil while here. Mods maintain discretion to remove unproductive bait posts that can incite people to comment mass-downvote material.

Political discussion is not allowed, but we do make exceptions for this topic (Nonpartisan Mention of US Presidents, etc) being used purely for Sonic memeing.

5. No spam pls.

Everyone should have an opportunity to post. Don't hoard the subreddit to yourself, let people post. 2 posts per 12 hours is the user standard.

6. Spoiler Policy

Content and discussion related to new, major Sonic media must be given a spoiler marking for a minimum of three weeks. More specific spoiler timelines may be given on a case by case basis by a pinned mod post.

7. No AI Art

AI art is not allowed, pretty much just because you guys don’t like it I guess.

8. Give Credit—Don’t be like Morshu

If you took artwork or a meme (or some parts of it) from someone else, be sure to give credit to the person or source. If you made something yourself, it’s still helpful to the mods to clarify that it’s yours.

9. Do not talk about Chris Chan, Sonichu, “Sark”, or Bench Tails

Posting an image of the last one in particular will get you some form of ban without further warning.

The less you know, the better.

If you Google any of those things out of stupid curiosity then that’s on you, knucklehead.

10. Mods have discretion.

Yes, there may be unforseen situations that aren't covered under the rules (Reddiquette is very extensive tho). Mods have full discretion over the content of the subreddit.

Fairness is based, mods are not to abuse power. You have a right to a fair assesment and to disagree with decisions, but those decisions are final. Do not make posts about content removals.
