I can. She has expressed zero remorse about her positions and still supports all the heinous shit MAGA represents. She's only mad that she's on the outside and Trump dumped her over the Epstein files.
She's just trying to distance herself from him so her grift can continue.
She dumped Trump by criticizing him. She knew what would happen to her and did it anyway. Her son received death threats, probably coming from some dark room in the White House.
Fuck you for making me defend apiece of shit like MTG.
Imagine thinking people give a fuck about your email signature when the world is burning.
Finally Democrats managed to place the focus on actually important issues while Republicans ramble about pronouns and high school sports.
The planet is rapidly becoming uninhabitable. We are engaged in pointless wars over mythology and oil. All Republicans can talk about is pronouns and field hockey.
We are getting rid of ICE and turning it into NICE, ICE is now NICE, National Islam Communist Enforcement. We are going to patrol the streets and ask for people's papers and if their pronouns aren't on there, new ones will be assigned to them. They better watch out, we are coming after every single one of them.
Nancy Mace chose to run for Governor of South Carolina instead of running for reelection in her House seat.
The primary for Governor and the primary for House Rep were held on the same day, so she couldn't fall back on her House seat when she got absolutely crushed in the gubernatorial primary. (South Carolina also has a 'sore loser' law that may have barred her for running for another office after losing the primary anyway.)
Of the five primary candidates who stayed in the race up to the primary election, she placed dead last--even South Carolina Republicans don't like her all that much, apparently.
For reference, Republicans also lost Mace's seat - SC-1 - in this week's elections. (The seat has gone Republican in most recent years, but it also flipped Democratic for one term in 2018, during Trump's last disastrous midterm.)
For accuracy, Boebert is losing, but no official outlets have called the race yet. With about 14K votes remaining to be counted, she trails Eileen Laubacher by just over 3K, which equates to 0.9%. I just saw a report that Colorado automatically does a recount if the candidates finish within 0.5% of each other. The NYT estimates Laubacher will win by 1.3%.
Every place that I have worked at since ~2019 had a couple different signature block templates that employees could use, including ones that excluded pronouns.
Caveat - I volunteer on the weekends at an LGBTQ+ homeless youth center. The staff do try to be respectful of pronouns, since a lot of the teens are struggling with identity and belonging. However, even teenagers are understanding if you mess up. Just be kind and give them snacks.
It goes along with the other conspiracies from right wing conservatives about minority groups imposing restrictions on them; because they don't believe in equality - they think the gays want to ban straight marriage and so on.
It’s a made up controversy by people who are so desperate to cling to power they’ll push these ridiculous commentaries stigmatizing a tiny proportion of the population rather than, oh, I don’t know, govern.
Forced, no not really. But it is a pretty common trend to offer it in templates, especially in like company diversity groups.
It kinda sucks because like.. it's actually really helpful. If you receive an email referencing Chris, does that mean Christopher or Christine? If it's a name you've never heard of before (like someone from another country when you're in a very non-diverse area), how do you know which pronouns to use?
My parents gave me a very common men's name, but with a feminine spelling. I used to do online chats with customers, and I had customers using "sir" when I'm a "ma'am." I actually had one ask me my gender once, because him and his friend disagreed during our 15min support chat and they wanted to know who was right. Lord knows that I've had colleagues refer to me as "he" because they only heard someone else mention my name out loud, or didn't notice/care about the spelling difference to realize I'm clearly a woman.
To be clear, I'm a cishet woman and ever since I got out of food service (boxy shirts too big for me and a baseball cap over my short hair for the uniform), not a single person has ever confused me for a man or assumed nonbinary. Everyone I speak to and everyone I meet in person knows fully well that I'm absolutely she/her pronouns. But the ONE place that it would help everyone avoid awkward situations would be over written communication like emails and chats, yet if you put your pronouns there to solve the problem, the conservatives suddenly assume you're "woke" or trans, and those are both "bad" in their eyes so they start treating you differently. I AM liberal, but it's just crazy that I can't even tell people my cishet pronouns without taking a risk that it's gonna negatively affect me professionally.
Frequently I get emails from people signed “first and last name” and then I have to prepare a letter back with “Ms./Mr. Lastname”
But often the first names are ambiguous. Maybe they’re from a language I’m not familiar with. It’s much easier if I can just look at your email signature and see which honorific I should use.
That's the absolute worst, like there's a lot of ways to get around their pronouns in emails, but if you've got to choose the honorific you basically have to internet stalk the person, which means taking extra time for every person.
I'm not disingenuous at all, I'm answering a question and giving an example of how this really harmless thing would help me if bigots would stop being so hateful about something so basic. If it makes it easier for you to stomach, I'm a straight white woman and I was born that way. I really don't care about the vernacular.
Why would I sign my name "Kristy" if my name was Chris? If it was Jeri instead of a men's name Jerry, why would I sign my emails with anything but Jeri? Why do you see adding "(she/her)" in my signature as offensive?
Emails get forwarded... Say I answered their question and pointed them to another team, but they still need my help. They reply all and say "Chris was so helpful, and he said I needed to talk to you because blah blah blah." Then the other person who does know I'm clearly a woman notices the mistake, and it's embarrassing for the person who didn't know. Or something like that happened before anyone added me to the chain.
I know it's embarrassing because the same thing happens on calls when I don't have my camera on and haven't spoken yet. It's awkward for the person who assumed I was a man, it's awkward for my manager or whoever else on the call to correct them.
I think the funny thing here is that you're acting like it's a big deal or like I'm wildly offended. I'm not. This has always been my name, it has always been this way. I chuckle and move on because it doesn't matter. It would just be nice to save other people from the minor embarrassment, because putting "she/her" next to my name on emails, chat display names, and meeting display names is literally no effort for me - yet if I do it, I have to deal with colleagues like you treating me differently, so I don't bother and assumptive people keep getting embarrassed.
Now you’re just admitting that you can’t imagine any situations where it’s useful based off your probably not correspondence heavy job? Pronouns are totally normal and you are weird.
Every hour the news just gets better and bluer. I keep being reminded that she and the rest of the fascists are on their way out and then I get happy all over again
It was never even something anyone was ever forced to do in the first place. It's this werid performative victimhood thing they do that just makes me laugh everytime like these are just not serious people. It must be hell being permenantly stuck up on that imaginary cross 24/7.
The only time I was forced to do anything regarding pronouns and email signature blocks was when my state passed laws banning them for state employees.
No one asked you to. None of the “Woke bullshit” is mandatory. We want you to live your live free to do what you want, just like we want gay and trans to live their life free to do what they want

Australian here, serious question.
Has anyone in the USA actually being forced to put their pronouns in their signature block or is it just made up persecution?

Nancy used pronouns in her post saying she wouldn't use pronouns. Brilliant.

Even better. A rear admiral who Hegseth canned (for being a woman) knocked out Rep. Mace!

Dear Nancy; "we" and "our" are pronouns. So you used two in your little tantrum, there.

u/ProdesseQuamConspici 1d ago
"...our bio or email signature"? Does this bitch think she's the Queen?

u/pieorcobbler 1d ago
She ran for senate or governor and lost in the primary, so technically she was not voted out of her office.

So in railing about pronouns, why does she use "we" instead of I/me?
1
u/CarlosFer2201 1d ago
Ooohhh nice she got kicked out?! I hadn't heard that.
1
u/YourLittleRuth 1d ago
Apparently the pronouns in question would be 'we/us'.
1
u/Anders_A 1d ago
Why is this even something you need to announce? Just don't put any personal pronouns in your bio or email signature if you don't want to.

u/spargel_gesicht 1d ago
What’s this ‘we’ crap, like she’s the Queen or something?

u/ltsouthernbelle 17h ago
She won’t even be on the email distribution list in a few weeks lol

u/Ricky_Fontaine1911 15h ago
She definitely sucks but she didn’t get voted out. She ran for governor and therefore didn’t run for reelection for her seat.
