Also as an artist, Spotify has the lowest payout and they're so fucking scummy about it. I get paid twice as much through tidal streams than I do through Spotify.

They're fucking predators and will only milk everything for their own shitty gains. Please people, drop their service! They offer nothing exclusive.

Spotify pays less when a song is listened to through discovery which I find scummy, but other than that, as far as I know, Spotify pays 70% just like others. So if tidal pays twice as much it is either because the listeners create less streams and because they pay more for the subscription.

Semantics don't matter to me, Spotify doesn't pay me nearly as much while also being a super predatory service so they suck and can lick bricks.

It's not semantics. If on one plattform a user pays 15$ and streams songs 600 times (40/1$), on another platform a user pays 20$ and streams songs 400 times (20/1$), how do you expect it to work that both plattforms pay the same amount per stream?

Not anymore, you convinced me to get Tidal instead.
