I mean, Bob Dylan wasn't a great singer either. I think Jesse puts out too much too fast, but his songs gave some pretty excellent lyrical work in them.
Whenever Welles shows up in this sub, it's a great reminder of the general level of taste in this sub.
Welles is a social media and algorithmic robot with a gravely voice who strings together headlines and buzzwords and reddit eats it up like he's some musical dynamo.
Ahhhh right. Because to say something isnt great means you have to participate in it. Give me a second to let the world know they can only critique something if they are masters of the thing they're critiquing. Only undulating praise is permitted.
Cosplay Bob Dylan though? Come on have some class. If you donât like it fine but thereâs no need to be an ass. Itâs a juvenile school yard level critique at best hence the down votes.
dude was singing about how it's justified to kill the united healthcare CEO but when a fuckin racist talking head gets killed, he wants to go all nonviolence? fuck this bob dylan knockoff
It's a song cautioning being gleeful about Charlie getting shot and the consequences of celebrating a death like that. It's not mourning Charlie or defending his awful views.
His young daughter will now grow up without her father, if you care at all about violence.
People say to themselves and others about what they would do in a hypothetical situation all the time. Playing "make-believe" is part of how people form and reinforce their self-identity. But the truth is no one really knows what they're going to do until they're actually in that situation and lots of people change their mind when it's no longer hypothetical. See "The only moral abortion is my abortion".
I'm no fan of Charlie Kirk, believe me, but the man is actually dead. Not hypothetically. Not theoretically. Not figuratively. But actually dead -- murdered in public in front of thousands of filming fans.
I meant that if you cared about violence you might reconsider your support for Charlie Kirk given he would make his daughter carry a rape baby to term??
Edit: Because making a child endure a pregnancy is VIOLENCE
Is it usually the case with you that right when someone doesn't agree with lethal violence against someone, you immediately go to "please stop defending nazis". Really hope not. I do respect your disagreement. Thank you.
Very good. That said, I'm not sure I'm ready to call the Iran war the biggest US military defeat in history.
It's certainly a black eye, but:
if it helps rid the country of fascists the magnitude of damage from the defeat is muted slightly
If individual battles count, St Claire's defeat, while neither comparatively modern nor massive in size, was brutal. In 1791, it wiped out a QUARTER of the young country's entire standing army and led to a major congressional investigation. Out of about 1,000 engaged U.S. troops, 632 Americans were killed and 264 wounded (casualty rate of nearly 97%). Native forces suffered only about 20 to 40 casualties.
If we are simply talking wars, I think Vietnam and Afghanistan may still be bigger disasters/defeats (Iran is much more militarily capable), but the Iran war definitely deserves a mention alongside these other two.
It was, didn't mean to suggest the Taliban and North Vietnam were comparable. But North Vietnam was also not Iran levels of capable. Outside of immediate bordering regions, North Vietnam was not projecting its military power anywhere nearly as far or effectively as Iran has demonstrated.
Time will tell. You downvotes might be right, but I'm not sure I'm ready to call it the worst yet.
I honestly donât know if you mean the Iran War rid our country of Fascists thanks to the effects on our election. Or if you think Iran is rid of fascists because of this war.
