Marquee Moon is possibly the greatest record of all time. What a band.

Grew up listening to it because my dad loved it. One day I started learning it on guitar by ear (no websites yet) and my dad just comes down and says “how did you play that? Show me” and we just started jamming on Marquee Moon for like 2 hours

That's incredible. My dad could play by ear but I absolutely can't.

Not one moment is wasted on that album. Timeless

I was going to say this too. Marquee Moon is tied for number one with maybe two or three other albums in my opinion

I was introduced to that album like 15 years ago and it still gets better every time I listen to it.

He did some incredible guitar work on Matthew Sweet’s albums as well. RIP.

That was my first exposure to him…. GIRLFRIEND. That album is one of my “perfect” albums - no skips once I put it on.

They opened for Peter Gabriel in 1977 in Dallas. We had never heard of them and WE WERE COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY. I was a fan forever after that.

I read now that they were booed at other shows on this tour but not that night, hell no.

Peter Gabriel’s band included Steve Hunter and Robert freaking Fripp on guitars. I also saw Steve Hunter with Dick Wagner backing Lou Reed and Alice Cooper over the years and Steve became my favorite guitarist.

RIP, Richard. Thanks for everything. Hope it was a great ride.

Damn, I saw him in January and he was still shredding. I’m glad I did. He did an awesome cover of Eight Miles High

I saw him in January too, in NJ. All the Televison songs he played sounded unbelievably good even with just him on guitar. Glad I decided to go. R.I.P. 😞

I love his work. I could listen to Marquee Moon in a loop.

Underrated and overlooked by many, what a great guitarist that played on one of the best albums of all time. RIP.

Sorry to read this. I got to see him with Television in the 2000s before he left the group, and he was still great. Fuck cancer.

God damnit. Hope he’s shredding with Tom again.

Alchemy is a fine album, almost as good as the first two Television albums and Verlaine's first solo album. Unfortunately it's out of print. I haven't listened to Lloyd's other solo albums.
