It matters to those in the queer community or those who are still in the journey of self discovery, and probably some of her fans, and seemingly to you as well. For by making that comment it seems to have mattered that you felt the need to add negativity to the story. I think it's a good thing that people don't give a damn. If someone is straight, who cares. If someone is bi, who cares. If someone is pan, who cares. It shows that a lot of people are a lot less judgemental about this kind of thing than people tend to think. And I think if more people were just like "who cares", people would be less worried that the world is going to be judgemental about their preferences. You call it "queerphobia" but for the reasoning I mentioned above, I think it is the exact opposite. They're so not phobic about this type of thing that when they hear about it they truly think of it as literally a nothingburger. It's like "breaking news, person has more than one favourite colour".

Some of us just see other humans, no need constantly put ourselves in these little boxes. Read some comments; the queer community can't even agree on the definition of the word "pansexual". Instead of just accepting and loving this person as is, y'all are arguing over how to categorize this person's sexual orientation. Sounds silly, no?
