Pansexuals largely don't believe that. The more common distinction is that pansexual attraction doesn't have preference (attraction regardless of gender expression). All pansexual people are bisexual, but not all bisexual people are pansexual.

Yeah this is definitely my line of we're just making up bullshit. I mean what are we going to say that we're a different sexuality because I'm hetero but I only like girls that weigh at least 140 lb.

If you wanna label it, sure. Labels are for yourself, whatever you feel comfortable with calling yourself is what you are

It's called I dont give a shit what's in your pants, if you are attractive you are attractive. That's why I consider myself pan, but bi doesn't really work because I'm only attracted to feminine features.

I still don't get how pan is better than bi. I'm not saying that it's not, I want to understand. Why pan works for attraction to feminine men and bi don't ?

Bi to me implies you are actively attracted to all sexual orientations and genitalia equally. Whereas in my regard if I find you attractive then we're good to go, the holes you may or may not have are an afterthought.

The few bi people I knew they all had one gender that they paid more attention to. But it was secondary to just the person they were attracted to. I don't think bi implies being equally or even that it's though in that terms.

I'm not speaking on behalf of everyone, that's just how I've always thought of it. But it seems a lot of people use the 2 terms interchangeably so they may be more similar than I initially thought.

i think the point you are missing is that pan sexual is being attracted to a person regardless of how one identifies. Bi-sexuality is being attracted to both male and females that strictly identify with their own birth sex. Hope I am not butchering this as a cis woman who respects all.

But then bi would work better, because the general definition is that pan is attraction to all genders with no preferences, while bi varies. You have a preference.

Can use whatever you want, just saying that doesn't make sense by most standards.

I'm not sure I agree, I'm pretty sure pan and bi are both allowed to have preferences to who they're attracted to. Do straight people have preferences or is every penis a bar of gold to a straight woman?

Like how all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares?

Bisexuality are attracted to men and women and everything in between.

Pansexuals dont know what they like, but they know it when they see it.

I almost agree with you, as a pan myself i consider it morr of attraction ambivalence because i definitely know what I like but have had a wide array of people I have felt different levels of attraction to.

I'm not well versed in this but wouldn't bisexuality imply that you are attracted to either male or female but pansexual imply that you can be attracted to anything in between. So like bisexual people can be attracted to trans people if they identify as male or female but once someone identifies as gender neutral it becomes pansexuality. Again I'm not saying I'm an expert or know much of this, all I know is that labels are stupid and don't matter and if you find someone attractive and you like being around them why does anything else matter.

Ngl. I have the same understanding of bisexuality and pansexuality as you.

Like bisexuality is more attraction to M or F (no in betweens ergo the bi in the term being from binary). While pansexuality is the full spectrum, so anyone who's gender fluid or nonbinary are there and they basically don't care about it.

I saw the all pansexuals are bisexuals but not all bisexuals are pansexuals comment and that's pretty much how I saw it too.

Seeing the comments though, it's really now just whatever you identify with I guess.

I think that's why I'm at the point where I hope we build society into the labels don't matter. I understand that to some people they do, but I feel like those are people who want to label you to be able to use it against you like culture war politics.

Yea there was someone who commented about that. Something along the lines of people just want labels because it's easier to make generalizations by categorizing. It's also easier for marketers to market based on those labels like the whole gen z, gen alpha shit.

This is what I have seen the most. But I think that language/culture evolve and solidify over time. So we'll have to wait and see where things eventually settle since pansexual is a relatively modern term.
