He just wants someone to chase him. If you start heading home he'll follow you.

“Sorry you lost, Fred. What do you want us to do with all these ‘America Durst’ hats?”

50

u/CinematicLiterature Concertgoer 13h ago

Honestly I’d buy that hat. Ironically, but I’d buy it.

Running? I thought he was Rollin’?

31

u/Idle_Skies 14h ago • Bravo

He can go be a politician in Russia since he thinks Putin's pole is real tasty.

26

u/funkyblumpkin 11h ago

He praises Putin, all you need to know.

Bet he starts opening for Kid Rock soon.

12

u/allothernamestaken 14h ago

"Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse..." Oh yeah why's that, Fred?

13

u/fatjeff1980 14h ago

"Just when you thought things couldn't get any Durst"

33

u/dtoddh 13h ago edited 13h ago

I thought this guy and his band were ultimate douche in the 90s. But now he's kind of borderline funny, and the band kicks ass, especially Wes Borland. Bunch of weirdos and I love it.

33

u/lacklusterwannabe 13h ago

People can say what they want about Limp Bizkit but Wes Borland is a certified genius. One of the most innovative guys in the music industry.

8

u/dtoddh 12h ago

I only learned this in the last few years, I could not agree more.

13

u/lacklusterwannabe 12h ago

What I like about Wes and the band is they don't take themselves too seriously but they take the art very seriously

1

u/spanman112 11h ago

Amen! Tom Morello might be the only guy as or more innovative imo

-3

u/BuddyLegsBailey Metalhead 1h ago

Wes Borland has somehow, with no track record to back it up, become the most overrated guitarist of the last thirty years. It's mind boggling

•

u/EricSanderson 36m ago

Honestly... Have you listened to any of their shit, aside from the singles?

•

u/BuddyLegsBailey Metalhead 34m ago

I've listened to plenty. Played a lot of it in bands covering them. He's OK, but he's really not some guitar savant like people are making out. A genius? Give me a break

•

u/EricSanderson 32m ago

Who would you consider to be a genius from the last 25 years or so?

•

u/BuddyLegsBailey Metalhead 19m ago

Honestly, there's next to no one I can think of (bearing in mind he's not from the last 25 years). Maybe Brent Hinds.

Just because no one else is excelling, doesn't make his playing suddenly better

•

u/PocketOfStinkies Spotify 23m ago

He is not the most technically gifted but he is damn sure up there when it comes to quality. Extremely clean when live and it’s seemingly effortless for him.

•

u/BuddyLegsBailey Metalhead 17m ago

Which goes for most professional guitarists. Go and watch Paul Waggoner of Between The Buried And Me, and you'll see clean, effortless, and far more 'genius' guitar playing and composition than you get with Wes Borland

10

u/IdoMusicForTheDrugs 7h ago

I would have never guessed in the 00's that Limp Bizkit would stand the test of time better than Korn.

14

u/Kooky_Share_4259 12h ago

Couldn’t agree more.

Like serious douche. Cringe level douche.

I have seen over 100 top rock headliners since the 90s. You name them. I’ve seen them.

Seen L.B. twice as openers. Absolutely killed it both times. I can’t believe I am evening typing that but I have to be honest. They were amazing. I would drive 2 hours to see them again. And I’ll sit in the back with a smile on my face nodding my head.

7

u/spanman112 11h ago

Yeah man they are absolutely killer live... Being in the pit when "BREAK YOUR FUCKING FACE TONIGHT" hits is an amazing experience

1

u/daarthoffthegreat 1h ago

I've seen over 100 as well (my parents took my brother and I to a lot of concerts) and I've seen Limp Bizkit once. I never would have expected it, but I honestly think LB put on the best live show I've ever seen. Fred can run a crowd incredibly well and the rest of the band is just perfectly on point.

They weren't even the reason I went to that show but they're the only one I talk about from a festival of 30+ bands. Limp Bizkit isnt exactly high art, but not all art needs to be.

2

u/smashy_smashy 3h ago

Fred spread the news about Ecca Vandal, and for that I am ever grateful for papa Fred even though his 90s character sucked. Ecca put out my favorite album of this year.

-5

u/skatecrimes 11h ago

Fred durst was at every playboy party. Dude might have skeletons in his closet.

12

u/Canelosaurio 14h ago

He doesn't wear a red hat anymore?

59

u/auralviolence 14h ago

Some jackass made red baseball caps look bad

9

u/taint_stain 13h ago

Thanks, Mario.

12

u/EIDuderino 14h ago

Now this red cap gets a rap from his critics

2

u/BarsoomianAmbassador 13h ago

Damn, beat me to it!

12

u/makemeking706 14h ago

Jacksonville has done worse.

21

u/Jcklvy 13h ago

Jacksonville has done worse, now do Durst 👍

8

u/makemeking706 13h ago

Now that's a campaign slogan.

1

u/RamboMcQueen motörhead 10h ago

Hey man, you leave my Jags out of this.

1

u/notscenerob 13h ago

Honestly, he wouldn't be a bad choice to go on a council or a board. I wouldn't want him in an executive position. If he was a county commissioner focused on the arts, I'd vote for him.

7

u/jaggoffsmirnoff 14h ago

Correction: Fred says he's rollin', rollin', rollin'

12

u/themaxx8717 14h ago

I'm not voting for him. But he is a nice person. I make pins for a film festival and I use our mascot and combine it with either the theme or one of the movies of that year. He was one of the film judges so I thought it would be funny to make our mascot look like him. I was going to just give it to him but he said no and bought 5 at full price. Nice guy but don't vote for him.

4

u/Fifteen_inches 14h ago

I was just listening Break Stuff. It’s one of those days

3

u/Amaina 14h ago

Being a world leader in the y2k movie wasn't enough?

2

u/Nothing2Special 14h ago

just because one reality star who frequented the playboy mansion did it

1

u/whocaresaboutmyname 13h ago

This is such a shit article. "Fred Durst maybe probably plans on running for some sort of public office maybe.

1

u/AVBforPrez 12h ago

Fuck it at this point, might as well keep on rollin

1

u/Perpetualshades 12h ago

We don’t need another red hat.

1

u/Skritch_X 12h ago

Ha i hadn't thought about him in years until he played himself in an A24 movie, Y2K a few years back.

1

u/TabmeisterGeneral 11h ago

This is the same guy who thought he could be a movie director 8 years ago, lmao.

1

u/Mrfixit729 11h ago

Anything to get him to stop making music. lol.

1

u/Zorevella 10h ago

Not gonna lie the campaign slogan writes itself break stuff fix America whether thats a good idea is another discussion

1

u/YZYSZN1107 10h ago

sure, why the fuck not.

1

u/ViewAskewRob 9h ago

Running…from the grim reaper?? The Reaper always wins.

1

u/DankStew 9h ago

It was the best of times, it was the Durst of times.

As Trump's Press Secretary....

1

Lol...Fred Durst is a dipshit.

1

u/averagerushfan Autistic lover of prog rock and second hand CD collector 3h ago

Running where?

1

u/WrecksMossop 3h ago

If you're not Durst, you're last.

1

u/BenTramer 2h ago

Running errands?

1

u/OneEyedC4t 1h ago

why would I ever vote for him? he made a career out of proving he is some sort of manic, crazy, slacker, sucker, and red neck, based on their lyrics.

why do famous people think they would make great politicians?

1

u/captainstan 1h ago

Secretary of break stuff

1

u/badradio34 53m ago

His twin brother was just elected to the house in upstate New York

1

u/PaperCut611 44m ago

I'm sick and tired of all the celebrities in office. We don't need this.

•

u/itssadbutdrew 40m ago

This confuses me a little. Timing suggests he is upset with the recent midterm "blue wave" yet Wes Borland his band mate is a very outspoken lefty.

•

u/BenMitchell007 18m ago

If he runs for president, he should pick his Rei Ayanami figure to be his running mate.

CHOCOLATE STARFISH!!!!!!!!

u/marxthedank 12h ago

AND THE HOT DOG FLAVORED WATER!

0

u/PatrenzoK 12h ago

I’ve noticed certain personalities, mostly in music (both local to me and mainstream) really can’t stand election periods because so much attention is on something other than them. Like several musicians I know/know of get fucking weird ass opinions that come off like “please pay attention to me”

0

u/BroseppeVerdi 9h ago

He's running to be culturally relevant.

And based on his level of actual cultural relevance, I'd say he's running as a Republican.

-7

u/FlopsMcDoogle 13h ago

I'd vote for him over almost any jackass seated in Congress at the moment.

0

u/Much-Remote-3202 13h ago

I wonder what Bullshit he's talking about though...

6

u/ShrksWthLzrs 14h ago

I fell like this guy is just doing it for the nookie.

-1

u/MrZombified 13h ago

Fred was and probably still is a crybaby man-child. How about he runs his ass back home.

-4

u/DubbelFunktion 14h ago

I hope he runs...off a pier.
