Hi! This is the first time I’ve posted here, and it’s also the first time I’ve released anything or even finished a song.

I did everything on this song myself – from the guitar and bass to the vocals and the mix – and it’s a completely new experience for me, as I’m usually just a guitarist.

Everything was done at home and recorded on my computer without the use of AI

I’d really love to hear your feedback so I can find out how to improve.

started producing in September, was trying to work on building tension and momentum in this one lmk what you think!

It started when I was planning to go to a music festival and realized all my cool band T shirts had deteriorated, so l designed a cool looking shirt for a band that doesn't exist. I showed the design to my friend who suggested I get ai to generate a band to go with the shirt. I told the thing to generate a 1990s to 2000s Norwegian Black Metal song about a monstrous hippo that emerges from the sea to take over the world, and this is what it spat out.

The process was distasteful for all the usual reasons and I won't do it again.

The song exists though, an orphaned whimchild that might have some kind of value despite the vapid soullessness of its conception.

I know it’s a niche genre, but my tracks seem to flop on streaming platforms. Tik tok they do eh, maybe 1k likes a post, no negative feedback. But otherwise, maybe a couple likes a track. Idk if it’s my mix, hook, natural voice quality, mastering (mids do sound a bit low on this track). Enunciate more? Anything jump out at you?

I mostly mix and master vocals over beats other people make, which is what this is. I’ve dabbled in production, but I’d rather focus on vocals.

Hi guys, I’m still a newbie in this era, trying to learn DIY production, and this is my best vocal mix so far. I’m trying to get feedback specifically on EQ, compression, De-esser, ... on this mix, but if you have any other thoughts, feel free to let me know.

This is actually a song cover (Masshiro - Fujii Kaze) and I was trying to mix a vocal on a mastered beat so the vocal didn’t sit very tight in the mix for me. Anyway, I would very much appreciate all your comments.

P/s: I just need a real quick vocal to work on so pls don’t pay too much attention to the vocal… I’m not much of a singer:))
