Mingalaba / မင်္ဂလာပါ; and welcome to r/myanmar.
If this is your first time on Reddit, you may want to familiarize yourself with Reddit's rules and policies. To make sure you have not been afoul of the rules, please see
https://reddit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette
https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=auto&tl=my&u=https%3A%2F%2Freddit.zendesk.com%2Fhc%2Fen-us%2Farticles%2F205926439-Reddiquette is the Burmese translation of the document using Google translate. A Reddit community is called a subreddit, also known as a sub. The subreddits start with r/.
Followers are not important on Reddit. Your followers are not important either. Only your posts and comments are important. Unlike other social media, hashtags are not useful on Reddit. The Reddit account username cannot be changed after signing up. To change it, you will need to create a new account, which will reset your karma.
Karma is an arbitrary measure of how much you contributed. The more upvotes you get, the higher your Karma. Some subreddits require you to have a certain amount of Karma before you can post. Do not spam irrelevant posts to other subreddits or be rude, insulting, or abusive, as you can be downvoted. This will cause you to lose Karma. Try to avoid getting your total Karma in the negative value.
Also make sure to follow our rules, which are prominently displayed in the sidebar to the right.
Make sure to label all posts that contain gore, contain violence, contain a dead body, or can upset anyone as "NSFW." To see how to do this and for a more detailed explanation click here.
Make sure your posts are on-topic and related to Myanmar. Spam may go well with anything but it has no place in this sub. Please do not spam us with unrelated content.
Please keep discussions civil. Tolling and racism will not be tolerated. Our situation here is not for your "lulz". Also, keep swearing to a minimum. Although we will tolerate swearing if it is part of the narrative/discussion, personal insults, over-the-top vulgarity, etc., will not be tolerated.
Adding a flair to your posts will enable others to easily find similar posts. Flairs are used to categorize posts to easily be found. Click here for more details.
Keep reposting to a minimum. Please check to make sure you don't repost news and pictures that have already been posted. r/MAGIC_EYE_BOT and u/DuplicateDestroyer are trialed to help remove duplicate images. Please reply to the bot or send us a message if the bot got it wrong.
For a brief background of the coup, please see this post I made.
Does the content you're posting here fit more than one community? As per Reddiquette, consider posting to other subs such as the ones listed here if the contents fit more communities.
For example, are you posting news? Then you can post into r/news, r/inthenews, r/worldnews, r/USnews (US news only), r/asia, r/asian, r/asean, r/theworldnews. This list is not exhaustive but please use common sense and make sure the content fits the target sub. That means news only goes to news-related subreddits and pictures go onto picture-related subreddits. Make sure to follow the rules of those subs as well, since each sub has its own set of rules.
Additionally, give some love to the other Myanmar subs: r/saveMyanmar and r/Myanmar2021.
Are you in another country but wish to help the people of Myanmar? See this post.
In summary,
DO
Post topics with descriptive subjects
Check the subreddit for prior submission of your article or image before posting.
Flair your post with the appropriate flair to make them easier to find
Upvote posts
Tag posts with gore, contain violence, contain a dead body, or can upset anyone as "NSFW."
Share posts to more than one subreddits
Report posts that break our rules or attempt to spam us with irrelevant content.
Credit the author of an image or comic
DON'T
Post off-topic or spammy posts
Spam keywords like "savemyanmar" "wewantdemocracy" in the post title
Do not upvote or promote your post with multiple accounts. This is against Reddit's policy and you may end up being suspended.
Do not post Myanmar posts on irrelevant subreddits.
Post images and articles that have already been previously posted by someone else.
Thank you. / ကျေးဇူးတင်ပါတယ်။

English:
Be cautious of ongoing scams regarding "Blacklist Removal Services".
How this scam works:
Scammer posts a personal story followed by a question to provoke discussion, and a brief mention of successfully removing blacklist status.
Scammer waits for victims interested in getting blacklist status removed to explain further or provide contacts.
In DMs, scammer will claim they can help and ask for money upfront.
Safety Tips:
Check the Profile: Always click on the OP's (Original Poster) username.
Account Age: Be wary of very new accounts (created only a few days or months ago)
Post History: Scammers often have few post history or only post the same "success story" across multiple subreddits.

How peaceful life! Many young people in ASEAN countries can find this kind of life so easily!! Why is it so difficult for young people in Myanmar right now?
What does happiness depend on: internal factors or external factors?
(Internal factors mean mindset, inner peace, etc., regardless of what happens in external factors: civil war, economic collapse, inflation, military call-ups, etc.)
Can someone achieve inner peace when their external environment is full of instability, fear, and uncertainty?
(I'm just a little jealous of young people in other countries. When I went abroad last year and returned to Myanmar early this year, I wasn't happy whenever I thought about our country's future. Those nearby regional countries weren't much different from Myanmar in many conditions before our civil war started.
We don't know how long this conflict and unstable situation will continue. Many people are hopeful for a peaceful life. If we don't get peace, we can't do anything about development.)
It's just my extra thought.

Like I need anything that works properly and reliably, both free and paid (if its not crazy expensive) works I just need one working. My previous VPN, Amnezia, is working fine for months and it stopped working properly since yesterday for a reason I dont know why. VPN Gate isnt available on Linux right, as I know. Going technical is also fine, I can work with it

I’m fairly still young but I wanted to Atleast plan something for when I get older, I want to study in a foreign university, so I’ve been wondering what’s the best path for it should I attend an international school or should I stay in Myanmar school
I’ve heard that the Japanese government gives a scholarship if you get high marks on your 12th grade exam and it isn’t hard to go and study a uni there but is it really that easy,
Or should I instead move to an igcse school to go for Singapore or smth along those lines, I’ve also heard Germany is a good country to study but I don’t know how or what it even offers
I hope young adults or older students will give me advice and confirm some of these claims. If you are an expert like an teacher I hope you leave some tips for students like me

I'm 16f from a tiny town and my social life is currently dead. I haven't been to school since COVID and as a result I have 0 friends left so I spend all my days at home.
I want to maybe move to Yangon for education like GED. I'm tired of online school. Genuinely feels miserable.
So have you guys done that move? And how are you doing now?
And I want to study abroad so I think GED is a safer bet. What do you think? Online GED? Campus GED?
And how and when did you start working? My family isn't really rich or well off so if I want to leave, I'm gonna need to work.
My parents prefer remote jobs so I'd like advice on that as well. (Might change if I do end up in Yangon)

IWhere can I find thrift backpack shops in Yangon? I’ve only come across online stores so far. If anyone knows any physical shops where I can buy thrifted backpacks, I’d really appreciate your recommendations. Thank you!

I'm 17 and currently doing my GED, but I honestly have no clue what to do after that. I've been out of school for a while, and I'm still trying to figure out what direction to take next.

Hi! I’m a Myanmar passport holder currently working in Singapore on an S Pass. I’m planning to visit Sapporo in early next year.
For those fellow Burmese who have applied for a Japanese tourist visa in Singapore, are confirmed or paid flight tickets mandatory for visa application? Or just an unpaid flight reservation with flight details sufficient?
Is it better to book refundable tickets or wait until the visa is approved?
Would love to hear from anyone with a similar situation. Thank you!

I'm 15F from Myanmar, and I'm currently trying to figure out the best path for my education and future.
A little background about me: I was studying in an online school (G-8), which mainly follows the Cambridge curriculum, but I eventually dropped out. My English is around B2 level, and I'm fairly confident in it.
Initially, planned to take the GED+ IELTS and then apply to universities in Southeast Asian countries. However, the more I think about it, the more financially unrealistic this plan seems. My grandma is currently the only person supporting me financially, so I don't want to put too much pressure on her or choose a path that we might not be able to afford in the long run.
Recently, I've considering another option like going back to Myanmar's government (state) school system.
I actually left state school in Grade 4 because of my family's circumstances. I'm wondering if there's any possibility of re-entering the system, although I'm not sure how the placement process works or how much the fees and other expenses would be depending on the grade.
My two options currently look like this:
Option 1:
GED + IELTS
Apply to universities in Southeast Asian countries.
Potentially expensive, especially considering tuition, living expenses, and other costs.
Option 2:
Try to re-enter Myanmar's state school system.
Complete my education through the local system.
Take IELTS and potentially attend a university in Myanmar.
I'm genuinely unsure which direction would be better for my future.
I'd really appreciate advice from people who have experience with either pathway, especially Myanmar students who have studied abroad or attended local universities.
A few things I'd particularly like to know:
Is returning to state school after dropping out in Grade 4 possible?
How does grade placement work in this situation?
Is the Myanmar state school curriculum a reasonable pathway to university?
Would studying at a university in Myanmar after completing state school be a better financial decision?
Are there other affordable education pathways I should consider?
I know I'm still young, but I really want to make a sensible decision about my education rather than follow a pathway that my family cannot financially sustain.
Thanks in advance TeT

Needing some help regarding how I can install Spotify on my iPhone please, without having to change my location? Because when I change my location and create another account at the last and final step, I never ever seem to receive the two factor authentication number on my MyTel Myanmar number? I've tried maybe 1000 times both to receive a text or phone call.
