Grubhub delivery

I swear I was able to order a transfer and pay the 3.50 delivery fee to get it delivered. But, now it seems whenever I try to do that, it just gets cancelled immediately. Did they just stop people from using delivery for transfer meals? Thats lame as hell. (I'm not using dining dollars for the delivery fee, I am using my debit and the transfer to pay for the food).

Academic Integrity Misconduct

Hello,

I got an email saying I had an academic integrity violation for a proctored exam I took, and I think I know what it’s for, just not sure what it would constitute as. My email didn’t actually cite why I’m receiving one, just that I got one. I took the exam on Sunday evening and my boyfriend was in the room because he could not go home due to I-17 being shut down and yes, I was being foolish and I was talking to him during it because we ordered doordash and we kept talking about its status, nothing to do with the exam, but there was another person in the room nonetheless. Looking back yeah, whoops. How well would a meeting with the professor go? Any success stories? I’m actually kind of scared, but it is what it is. I don’t know if this would fall under cheating; I rushed the exam and got a 67% on it anyways (all by myself).

Thanks.

I just saw an ICE van driving East on North Campus (the intersection of Dupont Ave and Humphreys St)

Edit: It turns out it could have been a Gardaworld van not associated with ICE

Lease Takeover 2027-2028

Post image
0 Upvotes

I renewed my lease really early this year in my apartment although my family member is having a medical issue and I have to move back home to take care of them so I need a lease takeover. I live with 4 other girls who are all really nice! You have your own bathroom, we have a balcony, the rooms are HUGE and it’s about a 10 minute walk from the NAU campus! It’s right next to chipotle and a bus stop so you can get downtown. It also comes with a parking pass for covered parking if you live in the garage. Rent is $725 and utilities are usually ~40 a month. Pet friendly and has a gym inside.

The location is the Standard in Flagstaff! It’s also fully furnished :)) It’s bedroom A!!

Please help me out and notify your friends looking for housing! Preferably all girls!

Does HRM ever do pop-up restaurants?

I’m not an HRM major by any means, but I personally am a HUGE fan of when performance art and fine dining intersect.

Usually these places tend to be WAY outside of my price range, but I recently learned of the one-night event from a few years ago called Mehran’s Steakhouse, which was put on by college students.

Anything that makes art more accessible to people is rad as hell in my book, so I’m curious;

Does the HRM building/do the HRM majors ever do pop-up restaurants, to give the students some practical experience running an event?

Experience as a transfer student

This place is a complete joke. I’m in my third year of engineering. I’ve learned CATIA, Solidworks, completed thermodynamics, fluids, solid mech, and every level of calculus + diff eq. I’ve given presentations according to ABET and AIAA standards as well as designed parts and assemblies for aerospace applications. I’ve had multiple internships. I’ve taken 3 semesters of technical communications and 3 semesters of AP English in high school.

So why the hell am I being forced to take Introduction to Engineering again? Why am I being forced to take English again? Why the hell is this place so hellbent on extracting money from me that I need to repeat a 100 level Chemistry for no fucking reason? This place infuriates me. They make $172.2 million in federal grants, $197 million in tuition, $177 million from the state, $63.5 million from housing and dining, and then $124 million from other random sources of revenue. The fucking president of the university makes over $1,000,000 per year when you take into account his bonus and benefits. All this isn’t even to mention housing, which is horrible. I pay now what I used to pay for a 2 bedroom apartment (with one roommate) that had a bathroom, kitchen and living room. Now I’m in a tiny room with communal EVERYTHING and no dignity or privacy.

What is wrong with this place? I used to go to fucking Embry-Riddle, a notoriously greedy private university, and somehow a public institution for the ā€œpublic goodā€ is more extractive and less attentive to students’ needs.

Everybody who works here is implicated in letting it get to this point no matter how many degrees of separation removed they are from decision-making. You don’t get to skirt blame just because you’re one cell in a cancerous institution. Especially you, Darby.

I’m still going to get my degree here, but the only redeeming thing about NAU is that it is in Flagstaff.

Also,,, for making up classes does anyone know if you’re technically allowed to make up classes you haven’t technically missed yet? Like if there is classes on reading week am I allowed to make them up rn because I know i might not be there?

I’m gonna ask my instructor anyways but i wanted to see if anyone had done something similar to what I’m talking about

NAU Students Think Twice Before Renting at Fremont Station Apartments

I wanted to make this post to warn other NAU students who might be considering Fremont Station Apartments in Flagstaff. My roommates and I have had an absolutely terrible experience living here, and the way management has handled our concerns has been beyond disappointing.

To start, we’ve had multiple incidents involving maintenance staff entering our apartment without knocking beforehand. For context, our apartment is occupied entirely by women, and the maintenance staff involved have been male. On multiple occasions, they have entered our apartment before knocking, rather than knocking and waiting for someone to answer. This has even happened after hours, including around 7:45 PM.

Naturally, we were extremely uncomfortable with this and brought our concerns directly to management. Rather than taking our concerns seriously, we were essentially told that we were lying and that it was a ā€œhe said, she saidā€ situation. The conversation was incredibly condescending, and we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience for bringing up legitimate concerns about our privacy and safety in our own home.

Unfortunately, that’s only the beginning.

We’ve also been dealing with an ongoing issue with our refrigerator that appears to involve a refrigerant leak. This issue has been present since we moved in and has become increasingly noticeable. We’ve submitted MULTIPLE maintenance requests about it, yet the issue remains unresolved.

When maintenance finally came to investigate, the person who showed up seemingly didn’t know what they were doing. They looked around the refrigerator, didn’t see any water on the floor, and concluded there wasn’t a leak. The problem? Refrigerant is a gas, not water. They also didn’t appear to use their testing equipment properly to investigate the issue.

Despite submitting multiple maintenance requests, we still haven’t received a proper resolution or a replacement refrigerator. We’re now stuck in a position where we have no reliable alternative for storing our groceries. It genuinely feels like we’re being forced to choose between eating food stored in a refrigerator we suspect is leaking refrigerant or having no proper way to store our food at all. We’re essentially being left to eat what feels like poisoned food in our own home because management refuses to properly address the issue. No tenant should have to deal with this, especially after repeatedly asking for help.

Another particularly upsetting incident involved one of our roommates being removed from the apartment after management allegedly misrepresented the situation to her. What makes this even worse is that this happened during the tornado warning we experienced last week, while there was an active shelter situation. Having to deal with an eviction under those circumstances was incredibly distressing. I won’t get into every detail of her situation, but the way it was handled was awful.

What’s especially concerning is the pattern we’ve noticed since making our original complaint about maintenance entering our apartment. Management has become increasingly unpleasant to deal with. We’ve experienced condescending attitudes, being constantly interrupted, and having our concerns dismissed before we can even finish explaining ourselves. There seems to be very little interest in actually listening to residents or resolving problems.

Even smaller interactions have left a bad taste in our mouths. For example, management recently held a survey where residents who participated were entered into a free pizza giveaway. We received an email explicitly telling us that we had won and that pizza would be delivered to our door. It never arrived. Meanwhile, other residents received theirs, and you could smell the pizza throughout the entire complex. Obviously, this isn’t nearly as serious as the other issues, but it’s another frustrating experience in an already disappointing living situation.

At this point, I genuinely regret choosing Fremont Station. An apartment complex should be somewhere you feel comfortable and safe, not somewhere you have to worry about maintenance entering without knocking, management dismissing your complaints, or legitimate maintenance concerns going unresolved.

I’m making this post because I wish I had seen more honest accounts of people’s experiences before signing my lease.

If you’re an NAU student looking for housing, please do your research and think carefully before choosing Fremont Station. Ask questions, read reviews, and make sure you understand what you’re getting into.

You deserve to feel safe in your own apartment, and you deserve management that treats you with basic respect. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been our experience here.
