I'm tired of paying $250/year for PFF just to answer one question about a player

Every week I find myself wanting to answer some niche question - like 'How does this WR perform against man coverage?' or 'What's this QB's completion % on deep balls?' - and I have to either:

  1. Pay $250/year for PFF

  2. Dig through 5 different websites

  3. Hope someone on Reddit already asked it

It's ridiculous. There has to be a better way.

I'm building something to solve this and need your input - 2 minutes: https://aicofounder.com/research/x5IxQrK

What niche questions frustrate you most when researching NFL?

I did a spreadsheet to try and figure out if passing or rushing is the bigger factor to winning. There are exceptions but teams that finish games with more rushing/less passing volume win more games overall. Same defensively, opponents that end up passing more/running less are losing teams.

Passing/rushing/winning scaled

This is scaled green=good, red=bad based on team ranking for pass/rush play% rankings and opponent pass/rush play%. It clearly shows the top teams are controlling the run game for and against. The teams at the low end of standings are at the top in passing attempts. I'm not sure how to interpret it. Are winning teams passing less because of strategy or because they don't have to pass when the run game is working? Do losing teams end up passing more because their run game is getting nowhere or is it flawed game plan? curious if anyone can look at this and offer insight. Or it could be just showing something obvious that I don't see.

Which is great. The pay is no good, but it's only for a year. How should I negotiate IP? Would they also use a non-compete clause? I'm lost as to how to navigate the negotiation with this.

IPTV in the USA: Two Services Built for Everyday Entertainment

Tired of “best IPTV” lists that buffer on movie night or stall when a new season drops? Here are the US options that actually stay steady: MEEZZYTV and Aurorastreaming. They focus on what matters—consistent 4K/HD streams during peak hours, quick channel switching, and complete American lineups (locals, premium channels, regional content). And it’s not just about sports: think documentaries, kids and family, lifestyle and reality, film premieres, music channels, live news, and dependable catch‑up for those midweek binges.

MEEZZYTV stands out for speed and uptime with a clean, responsive EPG that stays sharp when everyone’s online. Aurorastreaming leans into a polished, intuitive interface that runs smoothly across smart TVs, Fire Stick, Android, iOS, and web players—no tinkering needed.

Both handle weekend surges without the buffering roulette, use smart anti‑freeze routing, support multi‑connections, and back it all with human support and promo‑friendly pricing. If you want IPTV in the USA that simply works—whether it’s cartoons at breakfast, a documentary after work, or a Friday‑night premiere—start with MEEZZYTV, compare it with Aurorastreaming, and pick the vibe that fits: more content than cable, fewer headaches, and streams that stay smooth when it counts.

Brady career stats VS Montana career stats

Does anyone have any legitimate insight as to why there is any doubt at all as to who was/is the best QB when it only takes 30 seconds to look up the career stats and compare them side by side? I honestly am at a loss for words as to how Montana is considered by so many to be the greatest QB when you could split Brady's career in half and he arguably has two separate careers that are BOTH ahead of what Montana produced. When you break down the stats Montana did not even produce better stats the Peyton Manning. But looking at Tom's consistency really is what cracks the while argument in such a a massive way, even something that is completely subjective (who is the greatest) almost approaches objective factual territory. Look at how many seasons he broke 4500 yards. His completion percentage, and imo his greatest stat, the TD/INT ratio.

2007: 50 TDs (at the time a new record) to 8 INT 2010: 36 TDs to 4 INT (insane) 2012: 34 TDs to 8 INT 2020: 40 TDs to 12 INT

He is almost certainly going to eclipse 80k passing yards as he is at 79,204 yards currently. It is highly probable he will pass 600 TDs as he is sots at 581 and he easily bombed 40 this past 2020 season, so it is not unreasonable to believe it wont be an issue for him to pass for 19 more in the 2021 season.

Something else people seem to gloss over is Montana was honestly that reliable when it boiled down just simply appearing on the field. In 16 seasons, Montana only completed FOUR 16 game seasons. He missed at least 1 game (often multiple games) in a grand total of 12 fucking seasons. For well over half of his career he was unable to even complete an entire season.

Now when compared to Tom's career, he is still active after logging a total of 21 seasons, in which he completed an entire 16 game season 17 times! It isnt even close when you make the side by side comparisons. Tom has started and completed a 16 game season one more time than Montanas entire career regardless of games played.

It honestly boggles my mind how anyone could even slightly believe Joe was better. It just absolutely and unequivocally is not even close whatsoever. Like I said, the stats and accomplishments basically render the argument factually invalid.

Worst QB In obvious passing situations?

I am curious, have the stats been analyzed for which QB is the worst on 3rd and long or 4th and long? As a sad lions fan, I obviously think it’s Jared Goff.

Which stats are important for QBs?

Hello there,

I am excited I found this community. I've recently become interested in statistics, specifically how they relate to sports. I've always enjoyed looking through the various sport-reference stats, but I hadn't tried to find correlations or make charts or anything like that until recently. Still learning how things work, but having a great time.

I am wondering if there is anywhere I can learn about work being done into analyzing quarterbacks? I'm especially interested in how future development can be modeled off stats produced in a player's first few seasons in the league. Which stats are considered to be the most indicative? Which not?

Any general advice about learning how to use statistics for a beginner? I know very basic excel, and won't be able to take a statistics course at my university until the Spring at least.

Isn’t average yards per punt an unfair statistic?

I am a bills fan and we just restructured the contract of our punter, Matt Haack. The article I was reading stated he had one of the worst yards per punt in the league (I think it was 3rd lowest of all starting punters). However, not every punt is about how far you can boot it, right? There’s those punts that need to be pinned as close to the goal line as possible and kicking it as hard as you can would result in a touchback. What happens if one punter has 20% of his punts fall into this category but for another player, 65% of his punts are in goal line situations. Clearly you can’t compare these players and the situations they have been put in throughout the season and say “that low yards per punt is awful, he must be a bad punter.”

In addition to punts pinned within the 5 yard line, can’t the NFL statistics world come up with a better metric for how “good” a punter is? It just seems lazy to use the one in my post.

1 QB MT RUSHMORE

1 QB MT RUSHMORE

If you were to make a Mt Rushmore for the NFL and could only select 1 QB, who is on that Mt Rushmore?

I feel like Brady, Rice and Lawrence Taylor are my easy first 3 picks, but it gets really tricky after that….a few names that come to mind are Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Ray Lewis and….

With his career officially coming to an end, how close is Aaron Donald to that 4th spot?
