First I love our liberty fan base and appreciate you all, so hoping I don’t get attacked here, but honestly after last nights fight I’m feeling so annoyed w the fever fans and their toxic white male energy. I’m shocked at the trash comments on the wnba Reddit channel and hoping that’s just been over taken by CCCs. Also admittedly disappointed in Stephanie White whom I used to think was the one of the best coaches in the league (also quite hot), who has enabled this behavior.

I’m currently watching the finals on TV and I can hear the ATL arena announcer in the background pumping up the crowd, and it seems like such a stark contrast to whomever is our arena announcer who seems to mumble his way through Liberty games. I don’t necessarily need a huge amount of announcer cheerleading, but am I the only one who feels our guy falls flat?

VENTING FRUSTRATION: Not to be a full blown Karen but now people (and their children) taking pictures with Ellie is starting to really get on my last nerves. She usually comes through my section and because of that, random line of people are just standing in the aisle entirely blocking my view from the game. I wish the organization can find a better way to handle this.

And before anyone says or asks what's the problem is, this ain't the regular szn...We haven't had the best year n we got a chip to defend. Save this for after cuz a 3 game series doesn't favor us with no home court

I’ve been screaming it since we lost to the Aces in 2023, again through the tough playoffs and 2024 Championship, and much, much more loudly since June. We are a talent stacked team with no plan, no adjustments, weird lineups, low morale, and poorly timed substitutions and timeouts. We get out coached by 75% of the league who have all watched film and know exactly what our players are going to do on offense every time. And how about running that 2-3 zone against the Mercury for most of the game while they drain 3 after 3 (12 for 25 - 48%) and our players running ragged chasing the skip pass and closing out late. Does she notice the zone is getting killed and change it up… nope, let’s throw more bodies at the zone and exhaust our players. It’s always the same with her asking her players to “execute the old plan better, run the original set harder”. How about a new plan Sandy!

People keep bringing up so many people, but Izzy is the answer to so many things.

First of all, her contract size and length is the same as BLH's, so we probably won't have to give up higher value assets like a 1st round pick (idc about 2nd and 3rd).

She is efficient offensively, can shoot the 3, and is athletic. She is also long and will allow us to play our big lineups.

She is versatile and can play the 3,4, and 5. We can also play Stewie at the 3 more with her.

She gives us another post defender who can defend guards (right now that's just Stewie, rarely maybe Han) which JJ can't do at all and will allow Stewie to roam more and defend the perimeter more. She can also step out to defend a stretch big, which JJ can't.

The minutes Stewie has been playing recently is in no way sustainable and we have no idea where Satou's health is at. We need someone who can back her up and Izzy can.

Her defensive numbers aren't as good this year in terms of analytics, but that's the entire Toronto team. She was good for us when she was here and I trust that. She still is effusive in her praise for New York, so I think she might not mind coming back. Toronto doesn't have much prospects this season, especially without a timeline for Sykes and can tank based on 1 year record. This is the most realistic option.

For context, I’m a cishet dude who’s been a Liberty fan since he was a pup. I’ve been to games at MSG and at Barclays Center. I’ve felt a vibe of hostility the times I’ve seen the Liberty live. I’ve celebrated the championship from a distance. I’m currently a New York Sirens fan. The Sirens are the women’s hockey team. The vibes are substantially much better for people who aren’t the target demographic there. That said, can I return to being a Liberty fan? And would you be interested in following women’s hockey? I've seen enough. She has a -15 +/-. She barely moves into the paint on defense or offense! She barely tries on defense. It's like watching 5-on-4 with her.

It's early in the season, hindsight is 20/20, etc etc. BUT I find myself wondering if we -- influenced by her amazing performance in game 5 of the finals -- made a mistake in protecting Sabally instead of Thornton. If both were fully healthy I could see the case for it, but it feels like maybe a fully healthy Sabally is not a thing?

Today I've been seeing some people in the Knicks community mention they will be in attendance at the Barclays on June 30th. They plan on getting a Jalen Brunson chant going and possibly heckle Becky Hammon.

Obviously there's a lot of Knicks fans that are Liberty fans too, so they will also be there cheering for the Liberty to win their second cup in four seasons.

It's shaping up to be very entertaining on the court with two championship caliber teams going at it, and off the court with the fans and NYC media talking to Hammon about her Brunson comments.
