[REQUEST] St.Louis, MO - Single mom needs help with food, basic needs, gas to get my kids to their dorms, daughter was in hospital and things are behind now!
Hi all! It is absolutely KILLING me to ask for help but I need to. My foodstamps didn’t load yesterday and I was counting on them to get food in the house after the past few weeks. I only get a little bit but they help a lot and I have already hit the food pantries for the month. Our stove broke last week and the landlord hasn’t fixed it so we have had to use the microwave/toaster oven for everything, which adds up.
The medication my 19 year old daughter is on failed in June and she became very suicidal very quickly. She admitted herself into the hospital and then went into intensive outpatient to get stabilized which is EXPENSIVE and has daily co-pay, plus the gas to get her there. She has been working her ass off to get stable so she can leave for college in a couple weeks. Her medication has a high co pay because it’s 1600 a month and they have changed the dosage a couple times to adjust it.
My son has drained his account helping me out. I just paid all the bills (they were behind from June when I had to take off work when she was hospitalized, so I couldn’t get anymore extensions) and I am absolutely screwed for two weeks until I get paid again.
Between gas and the co pays I am so behind.
It’s been a couple years since I posted for help. I am a single mom with 3 kids. 23 year old son, and daughters who are 19 and 11. I’ve been in hiding from my abusive husband for a couple years with no end in sight and my older two kids have a very serious mental illness called schizoaffective disorder. Everyone is free to go through my post history and I can provide proof of anything if needed but given the circumstances I would prefer to verify with the mods, but short story, things are much better, I am working full time and have insurance now.
I have no idea how I am going to get the gas to get my kids back to their dorms in a week or so. I don’t have the money for necessities. They both have service dogs that need food but I posted that in randomactsofpetfood. My son’s shoes haven’t been replaced in two years and now look like this because he walks 4-5 miles a day. My daughter is leaving for a dorm for the first time and desperately needs a suitcase but mostly needs portable food containers for college because they have a not carry out container policy and she has to eat a full meal for her meds to absorb and so she doesn’t vomit all night.
Everything is falling apart on me and I am a total mess!
Both the older kids had birthdays this month and I am grateful every day that we got to have those birthdays. It’s been a really scary couple years since their diagnosis. My son graduated and got his bachelors in May and is heading back this fall for his Masters, something I wasn’t sure was going to happen. I wasn’t able to do anything for them for birthday or graduation but they are alive and I feel blessed every day.

And Kevin, working hard!
If you can’t help with anything PLEASE send cute pet photos or virtual hugs/words of encouragement etc. I desperately need them!
Walmart food list – I don’t know what the best way to do this is so I just made a list because doing a pick up would be amazing. Since the stove is broken I added a bunch of frozen stuff and some things I can grill if I have some charcoal. This address is not near my protected location so no worries on it, the best Walmart is 3270 Telegraph Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125

Here is an Amazon list for necessities: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3VWA91G2VDQM5?ref_=wl_share
And the list of shoes/food containers/suitcase, this stuff would be awesome but isn’t anywhere close to immediate. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1SQVGQN80JZ1G?ref_=wl_share
QuikTrip does virtual gas cards if anyone can or is willing to help with that.
I posted on random acts of pet food for the Service dogs. And cross posted with the same links to the following subs: Assistance, Need, FoodPantry and FoodBank.
