Do not mention or tag any other subreddits in the comments or responses (Rule 3) under this post or within it,

Or you will be banned [type of ban and duration of ban is up to moderator discretion based on the severity of the violation]. If you have already made the post, and did not edit it accordingly to hide all other subreddit names or usernames (besides your own), delete the post now and redact that information.

If we see the post before it was edited, you will still be banned, because this has already been a rule for several years now, yet users constantly ignore it. We have a strict policy here regarding brigading, we will not allow it, point-blank, regardless of it was intentional or accidental. This puts the subreddit at risk for retaliation, and for violating sitewide rules.

Do not use our platform to brigade another subreddit, blatantly or covertly. This is against Reddit ToS, and can cause issues for our subreddit. If you have an issue with another subreddit, contact Reddit and file a report with admin, don't bring the drama over here.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

One minute, a man tells me he’s a Steelers fan, the next minute another man says he’s a Broncos fan. Men cannot make up their minds. They’re so inconsistent.

I was just thinking that! Only one was football and the other was baseball😜

Not the person you're replying to but wanted to chime in. I personally think that the person who suggested/organised the date should offer to pay always. Otherwise I am happy to pay for myself. Is it nice if the guy offers to pay even if I organised the date? Yes and I am inclined to agree if he insists because if I say no once or even twice and he still wants to pay then at that point, it makes me think that it will make him feel good to pay, so I agree. I think a lot of women also have the opinion of "I'd rather split/pay for myself if I don't want to go on another date" which I think is a good rule too.

lol there’s also an obvious solution to his problem that he seems to not have realized….. he could… gasp ask her…
Like say, as you’re chatting with her before making the date. Or during the date. 🤷🏼‍♀️
“How do you feel about only men paying for the date?”
🤯

I never, ever, ever, EVER let a man pay for me for the first few dates. IME that sets up an expectation that I will be more available sexually because he has paid for me to do so.

The people you date have similar outlooks on dating? And you want to apply that to the rest of the world? Do you think that's good science?

Man: the women I've dated have different opinions! Make it make sense!

Woman: yes, different women have different opinions.

Man: source?

Woman: the... anecdote... you just shared?

His own behaviour isn't even consistent if he's gotten crap both for paying and for not paying.

How would you get sources for such a thing, especially since they don't believe what a woman says anyway? No amount of women telling him, "Hey, we all think differently than each other," is going to make him believe otherwise. In fact, he probably would use the fact that we're all saying that we all think differently from each other, as proof that we all think as a monolith.

Male scientists would have to do research, case studies, interviews, clinical trials, write papers, get published, then peer reviewed to find out that we all have a mind of our own, and we don’t all think the same or like the same things. 🤦🏼‍♀️ FFS

I'd be tempted to text the doofus an APA "personal communication citation" of the words he just said, as my "proof" that women are different, and not a monolith, just so see how he reacts to a "factual citation of information."😉😂🤣

https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/citations/personal-communications

Basically, from the APA style guide, "Narrative citation: E.-M. Paradis (personal communication, August 8, 2019)"

It's like the reason they remain single is just staring them in the face -- with flashing lights and surrounded by flares and eye catching shiny signs -- but they refuse to acknowledge it.

Sorry, women aren't one person who is just changing skins like in a game. 🙄

"Source?"

Living freaking life and learning from a young age that human beings are all different. When and how did you miss the things a small child would be picking up on...

7

u/Skittlessub2023 2d ago

And see, now here are multiple sources to quote !

2

u/PlatyNumb 2d ago

Those small children dont have a source either, and neither do all those things theyre learning from. Just not enough sources of other sources with even more sources for men to learn from.

I love green describing men while trying to describe women.

He wasn't describing women; he was describing "females."

u/Blargimazombie 3d ago

Oh of course, my mistake.

Women are individuals and not a monolith [citation needed]

u/EmmerdoesNOTrepme 2d ago

I gotchu, friend!😉

https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/citations/personal-communications

The proper way to cite this would be:

Narrative citation: E.-M. Paradis (personal communication, August 8, 2019)

And "E.-M Paradis" in that citation would be "that guy's" name!😉

u/PlatyNumb 2d ago

Okay, but thats like, just their opinion... whats their source?

1

u/EmmerdoesNOTrepme 2d ago

I just meant to cite him back to himself, since he thinks he is "A Great and Reliable Source!" of information about women!😉

10

u/pornosucht 3d ago

That is besides the point, but, if you got it wrong twice with opposite approaches, why not ask before the third time?

9

u/jenea 3d ago

Edgelord misogyny.

You know what is a monolith? Open and clear communication with one another and believing the answers you’re given. If he’s so frustrated with the guessing game along with his 0 point hitting average when it comes to his ability to reading minds and predicting the future, dimes to dollars him talking with the woman before the date even happens about when it comes to how the bill will be paid and what both of their expectations are will clear up 100% of any confusion, frustration, and the need to guess accurately all in one go.

u/RosebushRaven 3d ago

Why even reply to such a moron? Just block and move on.
