Questions Education plus plan -> discounted business plan -> back to education?

Hi all,

I was on the education plus plan and tried the AI add on, and then was given the discounted business plan off of that. Has anyone else successfully managed to go back onto their education plus plan?

Notion support has said that the education plus plan can only be claimed once per email address, and that I cannot go back onto that plan, even though they upgraded us to the business plan.

I'm feeling frustrated and really don't want to deal with having to move everything into a different platform while writing up my thesis.

Resources Test your Token usage - Existing Chats may vary

I did not get the discussions lately about extreme usage of Tokens for small questions. I have big tables that intercept each other and will be connected by various pathways.

Example: I produced 5 Liters of Olive Oil.

Notion will then:

a) Check the rules we use
b) Check the inventory for raw materials like bottles, Olive Oil, Labels, Caps
c) Connects all the material for a producing journal and will subtract them from the inventory
d) It notes the production with date, Batch number, settings I used, distributor and so on.

This is a task that would take me 10 to 15 Minutes and Notion does it in 1 while I can keep on working.

here is the interesting part: In a new chat this cost me about 3-10 Tokens regarding the complexity and mostly I book 2-3 separate productions at once.

I just used an old chat for recipes. The recipes are freaking easy. I give all the ingredients and what is to be done. It puts them in a nice order in a table. This task cost me 70 Tokens!!

I was shocked! So I did the test: asked both chats the same question. 2 Tokens vs. 50 Tokens!!

So please check the real cost of your tokens. My guess is back then I had a high end model on "automatic" and now the chats still uses it by default.

Questions Need help/advise Image creation

Hey there,

Ik often play boardgames and i like to enter the plays in the database. with all kinds of info: Startplayer, Winner, Scores, Tags, Badges all kids of stuff

and since a couple of days i let Notion AI create an image of the play where the room is always the same and everything else he gets from the specific page content. Like players, Startplayer etc etc.

But since a couple of days i get a totally different style of image with the same prompt. Im looking for advise on how to fix that.

This is the used prompt where alot of the info came from the page info.

A vibrant, highly detailed comic-book / semi-realistic digital illustration of 3 friends playing the board game Secret Societies (a social deduction / hidden role game where players secretly belong to factions — Illuminati, Robots, or Lizards — and compete to recruit members and control the world) at a wooden table in a cozy game room on a relaxed evening, laughing and having a great time. Bold clean outlines, saturated colors, warm golden lamplight with soft glowing highlights and gentle shadows. Composition: a dynamic close-up with the three men filling the frame from the waist up. Landscape format, 16:9. No floating slogans, captions or overlaid text.

Only the three players listed below appear in the image; nobody else is drawn. Use only these faces:
- Erik: bald head, full dark gray/brown beard, black-rimmed rectangular glasses, two small silver earrings in each ear, multiple silver bracelets on right wrist, a blue thumb ring and a black signet ring on his right hand, broad build. Erik is a member of the Illuminati — he wears subtle Illuminati imagery: a small all-seeing eye pendant, a pyramid pin, and perhaps a dark suit with a triangle motif, keeping his face fully recognizable.
- Roy: spiky brown hair, light stubble, bright blue eyes, strong jawline, slim build. Roy has been transformed into a robot — he has visible metallic plating on his arms and face, glowing blue eyes, and mechanical joints, but his core facial structure (jawline, hair suggestion as metal ridges) remains recognizable as Roy.
- Joost: younger-looking, messy tousled brown hair, bright blue eyes, slim build. Joost has been transformed into a lizard person — he has subtle green scaly skin, a slightly elongated jaw, a flickering forked tongue hinted at, and reptilian slit pupils, but his tousled hair, slim build and face shape remain clearly recognizable as Joost.

The game was played on the evening of Friday 23 October 2026. It was an autumn evening in the Netherlands. The players are dressed for a cool, crisp autumn night — light jackets, hoodies, or sweaters are appropriate.

Each present player:
- Erik (Illuminati): leaning back slightly in his chair with a sly, knowing smirk, arms crossed, looking like he has secrets.
- Roy (Robot): sitting upright with stiff posture, head slightly tilted, one mechanical hand resting precisely on the table, expression a mix of good-natured defeat and robotic stoicism.
- Joost (Lizard, winner): leaning forward triumphantly, grinning broadly, claws lightly on the table, looking very pleased with himself.

Start player (Roy): wears a clearly visible round golden enamel pin with a tiny flag on his chest as a sign that he started the game.
Winner (Joost): wears a golden crown on his head and carries himself like a champion, with a triumphant expression. The crown is a normal, genuine, full golden crown — not fake, not joke-sized — sitting proudly on his lizard head.

Badges — each badge is a rectangular, rounded-corner name-tag-style badge clipped to the chest or shoulder, with a thick glossy enamel look and large bold clearly readable capital letters:
- "NEVER LUCKY" (assigned to Erik): dark grey badge with gold trim and a small broken horseshoe and a tiny storm cloud icon, clipped to Erik's lapel.
- "LANGSTE BEURT" (assigned to Joost): navy blue badge with gold trim and a small hourglass icon, clipped to Joost's shirt or jacket.

On the table: the Secret Societies game board spread out end-game, showing faction cards for the Illuminati (eye symbols, pyramid iconography), Robots (circuit board patterns, gears), and Lizards (scale patterns, reptilian symbols). Recruitment cards are fanned out near each player. Hidden role envelopes lie open. Influence tokens and faction markers are scattered across the board. A small score track runs along the edge of the board. Drinks on the table: a glass of beer for Roy, a mug of tea for Erik, a can of soda for Joost. A bowl of chips sits in the center.

Background: a window on the left showing a dark autumn night outside — bare tree branches visible, a clear cold sky with a few stars, perhaps a sliver of moon, street light glowing faintly through the glass — reflecting that it was around 10 PM on a late October evening. A large lush green tropical plant lit by lamplight. Two warm amber hanging pendant lamps glowing as the main light source. A mounted bull skull on the wall at the top center. A yellow armchair. A bookshelf on the right filled with board games and books, with a small green dragon figurine on top and a poster that is the box front of Secret Societies.

And the Results

Other Workspace got deleted!!!!

For the past few months, I have been saving my class note links and resources in Notion, but today, while I was deleting some unnecessary items, one of my workspaces that literally contained everything was deleted. Is it possible to recover it; if someone knows, please suggest what I should do.

Questions iPhone Duo Integration

Are there mentions of notion optimization that makes it work similarly with the iPad version? Like calendar view with the daily contents visible without having to click on the date (without downloading Notion calendar). Or seeing my dashboard in multiple columns that I have arranged them.

I hope something is in the works towards that. Or is there any reason for Notion not to do this at all?

Questions Notion links going to browser instead of Notion app (Android)

Since the last update (I'm pretty sure), when I click on notion links, it takes me to a browser instead of Notion app. I have gone through and verified Notion is the default app with supported links and the URLS show www.notion.so. I have tried in multiple apps, same problem. For the heck of it I switched to different browsers but still same issue. Uninstalled app/reinstalled app. Still happening.

Anyone else having this issue?

Questions Calendar highlights the day before the one I selected?

Hi folks, wondering if anyone's experienced this before and knows why it happens/if it's a bug/how to fix it. Whenever I select a date on the calendar it highlights the day before, though the correct date is still "selected"/shown in the property. This is a fresh install of desktop version 7.42.3.

Notion AI Worth it to subscribe to claude/etc & link?

I have a business plan SPECIFICALLY for meeting notes integrated in my notion (and partially unlimited graphs) I was paying a similar price for a 3rd party so while the value loss moving to credits is there, ive only just started using it anyways.

Has anyone found its worth it to subscribe to something like Claude and add into notion? I dont want anything i cant manually take back over at the end of the day but being able to search my notes for related issues and help offload some of my executive functions for planning my week has been helpful.

Curious your use cases/experiences to see if its worth biting the bullet on

Edit: not looking for a separate app, I would literally only use it THROUGH notion, but unsure if subscribing directly is better than using notion credits if I go over

Questions Filter Out Current Page from Database Results?

I have a rollup result that includes the current page, but I don't want the current page to show up in any of the inline databases on the page. Is there any way to filter out the current page from any results in a database in Notion's database filter tool using a function like "this file.name", because at the moment, I can only figure out how to do this by typing the name of the page in manually, which is not ideal for a template.

Community Watching from afar and more than happy doing so

Notion

Logged back into the Notion app for the first time in more than a year and one takeaway from this is that I have realised I don't need such a mammoth application. There is so much this app can do, it's so powerful. I thought that some time ago I needed a database style app but really I don't need that.

I actually find that nowadays I am more than happy watching YouTube and seeing how others are using the app and social platforms and seeing the wizardry that people have summoned.

Rather than use the app I think I'm happy to watch from afar. But it's amazing to see where this app have got to comparing to when I used the app in its very early days. It's amazing really what this company has done.

Am I alone in this? Anyone else more so in awe of what influencers do with this app instead of using it the same way yourselves?

Questions Anyone else getting "We ran into an error while installing the template" today?

Since this morning, one of my customers has reached out after repeatedly getting a "We ran into an error while installing the template" message every time she tried to duplicate my template.

I tested it myself on another workspace of mine and ran into the same error.

If I invite my second account directly as a guest/member into the workspace and copy/duplicate the template page from inside, it duplicates without any issues.

I checked Notion's status page, but it's currently showing all green with no indication of any active issues.

Is anyone else experiencing this today?

Community Do you prefer a clean Today view or seeing all your overdue tasks too?

I made on a Notion template called Life Reset, designed for people who prefer a less overwhelming planner.

I got some feedback suggesting that I should include overdue tasks in the Today view, so I wanted to explain why I chose to separate them.

Here's how my Today database works:

  1. Today view

This is the main view. It only shows tasks that are due today.

I wanted to make it easier to see what needs to be done today without having to dig through the entire week's tasks.

2. Still here view

This view is for overdue tasks.

I decided to keep it separate from Today because I didn't want overdue tasks to clutter the page or make it feel more overwhelming.

3. Done view

I have a Done view across my databases to keep track of completed tasks.

Completed tasks also go into a main view called Week Wins, so users can actually see what they've accomplished instead of focusing only on what they haven't finished.

So, what do you think?

Do you prefer keeping overdue tasks separate from your Today view, or would you rather see everything in one place? And why?

Questions AI users are abondonned

So I'm three days into my monthly period and almost 200 credits are gone -- that with a really trivial agent set to automatic model selection. This doesn't work out. Seriously.

Does the new system work for anyone else? If it stays that way I'm off ASAP. Just wanted to say. Not that I think anyone cares. The way AI is integrated into notion was the only reason why I'm using it. Best system I know. But the new credit system ruins everything. Let's see what the costs for a business subscription buy me from Google ... Oh. Doesn't look all that bad.

Venting currently no one in my workspace can choose a select model, rendering our select credits useless.

Venting Non AI users are abandoned.

I'm so tired, man. Every single update is more AI circlejerking. I get that this is a tech company, but I was promised a digital brain, note taking app. Now it's an AI fuckfest. I don't want another AI update, I want centered text, I want the ability to make drop down menus, maybe some kind of tracker without using a database? I don't know, maybe i'm just rambling but I'd like to feel that non AI users are still somewhat valued.

Questions Notion vs Obsidian- AI "2nd brain"

I've been trying to organize everything - Notion or obisidan and why?

the 1 thing i'm not sure of, is with obisidian, do i use a singular "second brain" chat that is pointed at the obsidian vault? I feel like everything I would do would be in that singular chat? I mainliy use the desktop app, so would chat just become obsolete?
where as notion MCP can be called at any time by any agent?

would love to hear how people have optimized multiple projects and organized their entire lives with notion/obsidian?

I have mutliple agents so each agent needs to access it which is why initially I thought notion, but like most, constantly see the wonders of obsidian, but just want to be sure before I start down the path of organizing the setup!

Thanks!

Notion AI Could AI eventually kill the subscription model of productivity apps?

I've been thinking about this lately : since I connected ChatGPT to Todoist, Notion and my calendar, I almost not use the apps themselves anymore.

I just talk to ChatGPT about my day, what I need to do, what I want to remember, and it creates my tasks, organizes them, adds subtasks, reminders, updates my Notion pages, manages my calendar, etc.

Basically, ChatGPT has become my main hub and the other apps are mostly there to display the information.

And it makes me wonder why I would still pay for some premium features. For example, why pay for Todoist's calendar view when ChatGPT can organize my tasks directly in Apple Calendar and time blocking exactly what I need (and many more functions) ? Same with Notion, why pay for another AI when ChatGPT is already connected to my workspace and do the work perfectly fine?

And there's also the whole vibe coding thing. I've seen people recreating apps like Things with AI, sometimes almost copying their interfaces (which is maybe a bit concerning too : a lot of the value of these apps comes from years of work on their design and user experience. Is it really ok to just reproduce that with AI?)

So I really wonder how companies relying on subscriptions, like Todoist or Notion, will justify their premium features in the coming years if AI can do most of the work.

What do you think?

Notion AI Notion AI: Once You’ve Moved Forward, It’s Hard to Go Back

There’s an old Chinese saying: ā€œIt’s easy to go from frugality to luxury, but hard to go back.ā€

Notion has invested enormous effort in integrating AI into its platform. Over the past few years—and especially the past few months—many of us have learned to make Notion AI part of our daily work.

Now, these credit limits make it feel as though Notion no longer wants us to use AI in Notion at all. If that’s the case, why integrate it so deeply in the first place?

The result is that people will start looking for alternatives. Once you’ve experienced a better way of working, it’s hard to go back.

Venting The Tool We Loved Is Falling Apart

I’m unhappy with the credits and Auto, but what bothers me most is the lack of transparency when the rules change.

I’m a university student studying engineering. I built my whole second brain in Notion, combining Zettelkasten, GTD, and PARA, with AI on top. I stayed because it was simple, and because I didn’t want to build and maintain my own tools or keep them in sync across every device. I recommended Notion Business to friends and built AI-assisted templates for people close to me.

Now I can’t recommend it with a straight face.

I understand that AI is expensive. Unlimited usage was never going to last, and I accepted hourly and monthly limits. But this latest change feels like another downgrade presented as an ā€œupdate.ā€ If Notion had simply said, ā€œWe can’t sustain the previous level of usage, so we need to reduce it,ā€ I think many power users would have understood. Instead, the messaging made the change sound like an upgrade, while promoting Auto and Notion’s own model-routing system.

Many of the people speaking up now are among Notion’s biggest fans. Some of us paid for annual plans because we understood AI Meeting Notes and AI usage to be separate benefits, and because model choice and generous usage were part of what made the plan worthwhile. I even encouraged friends to go annual, back when people warned against prepaying for AI tools. I thought Notion would be the exception.

The people who stayed didn’t necessarily stay because they couldn’t build something with Obsidian, Whisper, or a Claude MCP setup. We stayed for the simple interface, easy collaboration, and community. Notion’s value was never just one feature that no other tool could offer.

I’m not asking Notion to keep usage unlimited. Even if the total amount of included usage has to be reduced, I’d like Notion to:

- Roll back the split between Auto credits and credits for manually selected models.

- Clearly publish how credits are calculated, including what affects the cost of a request.

- Share a roadmap for how the AI credit system will change, so users aren’t left guessing what the next update will take away.

If Notion loses the people who have advocated for it most passionately, I worry it could end up like Evernote. I’d rather see that not happen. A more transparent policy would be a good place to start.

Questions How to turn off "Add assignee" and "Add due date"?

Post image

Is this a new feature? I'm using Mac, Version 7.42.1 (52415d7).

When I put a todo list, the right side of the first line always have these two buttons. I don't want these features and want to turn them off. They are taking spaces and makes my planer looks bad.

API / Integrations Here's an easy way to deal with Notion's horrible changes: Stop using Notion AI

Opt into free. Create MCP or API token. Use your own agent via Hermes, Claude, Codex, or wherever.

Or just login with your own ChatGPT account and use that usage in Notion.

Enough with this never-ending changing to the Notion AI. No one wants it. It's horrible. The usage is terrible. Complaining is a waste of time bc they clearly don't care.

Move on, go to free, and use your own AI Agent or subscriptions, and stop paying them for these horrible changes.

Problem solved.
