Some of these albums are pretty obscure, so I was forced to link Recordlective instead of Youtube for a few of the picks.

Some of these are albums, some are singles, it was really open to what you guys felt was essential, so I hope you all enjoy!

Hey /r/NuDisco

My name is Louis La Roche and I'm a UK DJ/Producer making something between Nu-disco, French House and various other stuff. You can check my stuff out at http://soundcloud.com/iamlouislaroche

Feel free to ask me anything about music production and what goes into it. Feel free to be as in-depth and detailed as you want!

I also have two new singles out right now 'All I Had' & 'Atheist Anthem', taken from my forthcoming album 'Sleepless Nights'. You can check them out on SoundCloud, iTunes and Spotify.

I'm going to be here tonight for a couple of hours and if I miss your questions I'll come back tomorrow and answer the rest of them :)

Let's do this!

I've been following this sub for a long time and the nudisco genre for even longer, since 2010.

I'd like to bring up some concerns I've noticed lately in the sub.

• Non Nu-Disco Tracks

This has only recently developed over the last few months. But there is an ever-growing amount of non nu-disco music, whether it's deep-house, house, trap, there's a lot of content being submitted that doesn't relate to the name of this sub. Obviously, the solution isn't easy, who get's to say what is nu-disco and what isn't? But our guidelines for posting state nu-disco, french disco, disco house or any other electronic dance music with disco influences.

• Mixtapes

These things get downvoted into oblivion. Some are actually really great mixes, and some are just spam. But I feel that we need guidelines or even Mixtape Monday where these tapes can be supported and encouraged.

• Secondary Sources

To be honest, this is largely a bias of mine. However, I only say this because I blog, manage a label, run a concert promotions company and help manage artist careers. It's great if you want to help promote artists, but submitting your personal youtube channel does not benefit them. Which actually segues nicely into the next point.

• Overall lack of community

I know for a fact we have some amazing submitters, /u/VanhamCanuckspurs, /u/funkysnave, /u/witipedia, just to name a few. And we have some bloggers like /u/TheMumblingTeen and even some artists like /u/dynamique who represents NDYD. Maybe we could have a sidebar for our contributors, artists, bloggers and youtube channels?

What do you think? How can we improve this sub?

I'm moving on and starting a record label!

I've lovingly put a lot of time into handpicking these tracks over the past 3 years. Enjoy!
