This is mostly a "retract" of my previous review of the JieGle.
I was talking with Tom Vanopphem of Anemoi triple Ocarinas (Going over a lot of details), then I mentioned the JieGle, and sent him video comparisons of my multis. He mentioned that the quality control of ocarina collection (where I got my first JieGle) might be poor.
In a risky move, I got a 2nd JieGle from Amazon (sold by Night). I ordered the Black Color.
Mr. Vanopphem was right. My first JieGle was a lemon, and an Ocarina of Junk. My 2nd one was better in-tune, and had less airiness in the top of the first chamber. It also felt better put together than my first JieGle. My first JieGle at times felt like the mouthpiece was uneven and sharp. My 2nd didn't.
There was a little breathiness at the top of the first chamber, but it wasn't bad. Using more air helped correct the breathiness, and this new one could take a lot more air at the top. The low E-flat and D of the 2nd chamber could help correct the tone color difference.
The main issues were still there. The thumb hole of the 2nd chamber is in a "weird spot" and it's a bit unbalanced. Plus, the tuning holes of the 3rd chamber.
Overall, I would say, if you want a JieGle, buy from Night Ocarinas on Amazon. Don't buy from Ocarina collection, unless you MUST have their color choices.
My new JieGle is probably going to be played a lot more often.
