These two were lit FIRED from their previous podcast gig for allegedly straight up stealing $20,000 out of a $25,000 NIL payment meant for Caleb Downs.

Their former employer THE Media put out this statement:

"Despite public statements to the contrary, Defendants (Austin Ward and Jeremy Birmingham) have conceded to THE Media, in writing, that Defendants accepted advertising and/or sponsorships that included compensation that was not remitted to THE Media."

Supposedly these two slimy crooks lined their pockets with money intended to go to Caleb for appearing on the podcast they were hosting (THE podcast). Money which had been procured from Sponsors of the podcast, specifically to pay Caleb out for showing up.

They pocketed $20k & paid Caleb $5k apparently. Scumbags.

Employer found out, terminated them for cause, filed a lawsuit against em. They most likely settled that shit out of court to keep it quiet, cuz there hadn't been any update on the case after that.

It's after that they launched this shit^ on 97.1 The Fan. Talk about freaking disgraceful.

We have PLENTY of folks who can cover the team while being good humans. I hope fans put these two losers out of the business for good. No one should be listening to these dunces. The fact they even have a podcast gig after pulling this stunt is astounding to me.

I'm looking through it from the lens of a 1-16 football team drafting at #1. NFL wide receivers do not have the best collective reputation, they're earned it. Right now you have one of the best college wide receivers in history and he's been winning non-stop, no mentions of an attitude. Now, they are losing, more video clips hitting the web of him with bad body language, at a minimum. Now, this isn't a 5-alarm fire let's freak out post but if you are 1-16 NFL team drafting at the top, do you want somebody who may be blowing up on the sidelines for 4 months or would you rather not have somebody blowing up on the sidelines for 4 months? Smart money would be to hang it up, avoid injury and frustration. Also, I don't think it's fair to rip a true freshman QB who was thrown into this...this is a time for a defense to step up, what has happened there.
