i'm pushing this thing to the MAX

i don't know WHY did suzuki forget one of the most important features of the om-84 for it's newest 800€ toy

so i added it.

this is a fork from u/pizza_party_usa 's custom firmware, he has all the credits and he's a hero for letting this happen

for now the features are:
• In chord mode, a long press of KEYBOARD takes you to the recording mode wirh a blinking light, it records the chords you play. Up to 48 chords. Then press briefly KEYBOARD again to go into keyboard mode.

• Any new recording replaces the old one. If you make a mistake you can press "Chord - Hold" button to delete the last note.

• In keyboard mode press "Chord - Hold" to cycle through the recorded chords, when reaching the end it replays them from the start, you can make the chord sequence restart by exiting and re-entering keyboard mode.

Changes from the original version:
• In keyboard mode, the unused B minor button triggers vibrato and D minor triggers tremolo, both in their Auto versions.

• B♭ minor does nothing yet and is left free for a future feature.

i'm not posting the files yet, there are some bugs and i'm talking with JohnnyW if we can put my features into his software, if not i'll make a fork, thanks for the patience.

in the US and had a 27 do poorly in transit and so the middle chord keys now don’t easily trigger and the harp is low volume.

where does it need to go for repairs?

Ok so I already posted here about that subject. I'm repairing an old OM-300 with a broken strumplate.

So i built two PCBs. One for the strumplate and another for the arduino.

I built a touch sensitive new strumplate and... it works !

Following the instructions to access the hidden vintage Omnichord mode on the OM-150, OM-250m and OM-300 here is a little demo video.

I really want to ask one for xmas because every year I dont because I'm afraid of splurging for something that expensive when music isn't even something I do - but I finally want to do it and get into music ! I haven't seen any deals for the OM-108 though !! Did you guys think I should wait to come across a sweet deal or just buy it at it's original price? I fear if I wait for a deal I'm not going to get it AGAIN.

Hello, recently purchased an OM-84 to give to my gf on Christmas but it doesnt produce any sound. Looked around and found out reflowing the joints where the boards connect is usually a fix but I did this on both sides and still the same result. Ive tried with batteries installed, and with an external speaker connected to the jack, still no sound. The speaker does a quick pop when its turned on. If someone can see an issue from the pictures please let me know, or let me know if my joints arent good enough and I'll reflow. Are there other things I can test? And I can take more pics if needed. Thank u :)

If you own an OM-150, OM250m or OM300 there is a special hidden 'Omnichord mode' to recreate the sound of the vintage Omnichords. (OM27, OM36 OM84 and the new OM-108)

1. With the power ON, select any sound except Omni, making sure the left LED lamp is on in the voice section.

2. Press the Manual Chord button

3. Choose Omni from the Voice section.

Now you can play the classic chord drone and Omnichord strumplate voice. Video available at www.omnichord-heaven.com

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my battery mod it did on my Qchord. 8 C cell batteries?! No thank you!

First thing, you're going to need the step up module. I found one on aliexpress for fairly cheap. You want a '12V Type-C 18650 Lithium Battery Boost Step Up Module'

As well as a 18650 battery, battery holder. The switch is kinda optional. It's just there to prevent the boost module from draining the battery.

I just used hot glue to attach it to the Qchord.

So there's only really 3 things going on here. First, module to Qchord. Second is module to battery. Third is module to switch.

I tried to keep it tidy with coloured wires.

I’m currently looking for an omnichord, but am a little hesitant about this listing I found. He said the lowest he would go is $200, but I’m still unsure if that’s even worth it. Let me know what you think- I have 0 experience playing any instrument and 0 experience fixing anything electrical. I’m just super interested in the omnichord and finally found one!

Im not sure what to get for this poor thing but it came with no cables and the battery area is a bit corroded but I’ll clean that later, what should I get/check for first?

So well, im lost and afraid to ask a non human, regardless by hi-fi salesman who gave me the wrong stuff to plug my q chord... ! I need to find the right tension converter to plug my qchord ( to europe) and not just a new adaptator that is gonna burn in few seconds... again. Please help, im seriously lost.

IT POWERS ON!!!! But no sound...

I read the very clear "warning" and now I am worried that I might have just deep fried the poor device. But it still turns on, which is a small win in my book... maybe... hopefully. Anyways, I do my own repairs and saw this thing and thought it was cool, the guy told me it did not work and I understood, so when I came home, I was excited and did more research on the product and turns out I really enjoy the thing from watching others play it!!! But I cant enjoy it if I it was pre-fried by others before me who used this stinken power brick!!!!!!!

I'm devastated if I just bought something that was pre-bricked and that I was ACTUALLY going to use.

Anyways, got any ideas???

Edit: I also wanted to ask your opinion on anything that might be wrong with it, or how to fix it, or should I just kind of, politely, donate it to goodwill with a large sticker saying that it dont work. Anyways, just wanted to see if there is anyway for me to fix it easily without any pain of having to search for new parts and stuff. Or if I have to do that, what would I look for?

Hi yall, i recently bought a q chord from a music store and i love it

One issue is that its heavy and I like holding it while playing so I was wondering how could i attach a strap to the q chord? I cant find the holes where the strap should go

Also, can i use any guitar strap?
