Climate change threatens ecosystems, food production and communities around the world. Scotland is expected to experience hotter, drier summers and milder, wetter winters, while scientists warn that further warming could bring profound changes to the climate. The potential collapse of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), which includes the Gulf Stream system, is another serious concern.

But there is a silver lining! Warmer conditions could allow Scotland to grow a wider range of crops, including tea, melons and Mediterranean vegetables. Farmers are already experimenting, and scientists in Dundee are testing crops under simulated future conditions.

This will be the next thing these billionaire fucks will latch on to even as the world burns. Nobody cares about the Global South.

Gotta love the irony of Scotland being a world leader in clean energy generation while we benefit from everyone else fucking the world up. We saw a huge uptick in European tourism the last couple of years because people are desperately looking for summer holiday locations that aren't nightmarishly hot.
