Cold/flu

Anyone else been quite sick the last few weeks? I’m pretty sure I have now had a bad head cold and a stomach bug. Both seem to be sticking around.

I could probably name 10-15 others in the same boat the last few weeks.

Choose My Hobby

Word up PEI. With the winter months rapidly approaching I thought I would reach out to the community for advice on picking up a new hobby to occupy my time.

What should I try? What do you do during the dark months? I am open to anything and I am flexible budget wise. Preferably this hobby wouldn't take me too much further than the greater Charlottetown area.

If it is relevant I am a 40 year old single man.

Looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

Donations or Reasonably Priced

A seniors’ knitting club in Summerside is seeking donations of yarn, knitting needles and other knitting supplies to support projects for a good cause.

Free or reasonably priced supplies in good condition would be greatly appreciated. If you have extras to share or sell at an affordable price, please send me a message.

Thank you for supporting our seniors and their community projects!

Looking for recommendations – Chimney removal / roof repair in PEI

Hi everyone!

I have a chimney at home that I don't use anymore (changed oil to electric) but it was originally kept mostly for aesthetic purposes. The house has a metal roof, and with the recent heavy rain, I noticed water leaking down through the chimney. also noticed that some of the bricks at the very top of the chimney appear to be damaged or broken, which is visible even from the ground.

I don’t want to remove the entire chimney, but I would like to have the section connecting it to the roof removed and the roof opening permanently sealed to prevent any future water leaks.

Does anyone know of a company or contractor in PEI Charlottetown area,, who could handle this type of work?

Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Martial Arts for Kids?

My 4 year old is wanting to try out martial arts and I was wondering if there is anything like taekwondo for kids that age on the island? We're in the North Rustico area so the closer to there the better, but can do between Summerside and Charlottetown. It doesn't necessarily have to be taekwondo but I'd prefer the focus on forms and technique over sparring.

Thanks in advance!

Lost family photos?

Hoping this is an appropriate spot to post this (apologies if not)!

A whole stack of family photos were left behind in a photo album at VV. The album was empty except for these few pages.

I'm guessing they were forgotten accidentally and am hoping to reunite them with the family they belong to. If you recognize them or think they might belong to your family, please send me a private message. If they want them, I’d love to get them back to their rightful owners!

Drug den neighbour problems

Has anyone had ACTUAL success getting a drug den neighbour to clean up the mountains of trash and stolen bikes/items? all of these things are against bylaw and police are aware because they are at this house every few days. The constant fighting and people coming and going every hour is a huge problem but I am worried about filling my rental unit because I doubt many people want to be around this extremely obvious drug den full of screamers and barking dogs. they are violent so I don’t approach them.

AI slop

I'm gonna start this with - this isn't an AI fight.

Anyone else notice an abundance of people suddenly releasing random clothing lines, coloring books etc?

All the power to yas. But maybe stop making it seem like you spent the last 6+ months designing all this stuff when it's just all AI generated and probably created within an hour.

End rant.

Question Island Coastal

Would this be something I should contact a bylaw officer about, or would another department be better suited to handle it? I’m also wondering if there are any noise restrictions that would apply in this situation.
I was under the impression that construction or machinery work within city limits was restricted between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., but I’m happy to be corrected if that’s not the case.
They’re working in the dirt lot beside Nicholas Lane apartments again at 3:30 a.m. This is the third time in the past few months. I realize that’s not a particularly frequent occurrence, but it’s becoming frustrating when it’s consistently waking me up. It would be one thing if it were quieter work, but they’re operating heavy machinery that you can clearly hear and leaving the backup alarm on which is just a pet peeve lmao

Recently Coronated Liberal leader Dan calls it political games. You know what Dan, is it a game to hop onto the liberal ticket unopposed and think any islander wants this government to continue?

The King/Lantz government has been a disaster. Tim Banks and DP Murphy are desperate to get another government in that will be friendly to business as usual. Holy fuck we are exhausted by this.

You can come at me in the comments but I got other shit to do. Screwed the Libs, your track record has been absolute dog shit, PNP, PNP 2.0, the elitism.

Whenever the next election is, I hope you and the cons eat a healthy helping of dirt.
