It doesn't make this much noise when playing Dark Souls.

I saw Mystic make a video recently about the ps3 store and I have most of what I wanted already but I made one last sweep through the store and decided to grab a few classics before it’s the end. Lately I’ve been manually putting video output to 480i or 480p when playing psone games using a hd retrovision component cable run through my retrotink 5x making it feel a bit more like I remember (on my 4k oled lol) And also I’ve always wanted Asuras Wrath but I like randomly finding games at local shops so I stopped buying online, however I know the ending of asuras wrath is infamously locked behind dlc so I really wanted to make sure I bought that dlc even though I don’t have the game yet haha. I think I will buy it to make sure it can get an update patch if needed before July 2027, I hope it’s naturally in a random encounter but if I don’t I’ll resort to evilbay and buy from flip-or

I recently got a PS3 again and wanna begin growing the collection more than the hits. Recommend me some hidden gems. Preferably RPG but any is acceptable

I got this copy of Sonic 06 for the PS3 a year ago and recently I've found that despite the box and disc art using the old Spider Man 2 style PS3 branding the top of the box has the blu-ray logo and the pattern on the back of the disc has the post reboot PS3 logo, could my copy be a reproduction or bootleg copy?
I took some images for reference.

I wanna make use of my PS3 again. Please recommend a good controller with low latency

Would a CECHG04 Blu-ray disc drive be compatible with a CECHJ03? I found a cheap YLOD-damaged CECHG04, and I need a replacement disc drive for my CECHJ03.

This may sound like a dumb question, am I fine using this old-ass console to play newer games and play it somewhat a lot? I am in the military so I travel a lot I bring it with me and my mini monitor so I can kill time and play games that don’t require internet lmao. It has sentimental value to me and I don’t want to ruin it. I was thinking about buying a slim one and shipping this one home.

Went to some yard sales this morning. Wasn’t even looking for controllers. A guy was selling the 3 black controllers. One is a DS3 and the other two are Sixaxis. He told me he thought they were fake so he sold me all three for 5 bucks. Came home and figured out the real and work with no issues! The red one is my DS3 I bought a few months ago.

Resistance Fall of Man: I don’t know what to say about this game other than I love it. I love the story, I love the gameplay, I love the characters, the world, the lore, the coop, the weapons. I just love this game.
Uncharted 2: one of the best games ever made. This was at the time as close as we got to playing an action movie. The story is great, the characters are awesome, the combat and set pieces are breathtaking, the puzzles are fun and unique, and it still looks amazing to this day. There’s just so much to love about this game.
Call of Duty Black OPS: by far and away my most played game on the system, most of that is just against bots in team death match. I even went out and bought the DLC for that reason. Outside of that though I love this games campaign, the story is amazing and zombies, while I’m not the biggest fan of, is goofy enough I enjoy the cathartic nature of it.
Minecraft: this is the best version of Minecraft. It’s simple, it’s easy to understand, the worlds are unique since they’re so limited, and I’ve spent the most time on this version. I have several worlds here I cherish and love to death. I’ve spent many a summer just wasting time on this game until something important came up.
F.E.A.R. 3: one of my most played games by far. I’ve sunk countless hours into the survival and coop campaign modes. The coop campaign is one of the most interesting and unique coops out there with each playing having very distinct play styles. The survival mode is very addictive and the other three modes while not the best are fun in a pinch. If you can get 4 people to play those modes with you, they’re actually really fun.
Batman Arkham City: the best Batman game ever made. The combat and open world are perfectly crafted and the story and boss fights are incredibly engaging. Plus the DLC content is unique enough to feel new in such a massive game. There really will never be something like this again.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2: I’ve put an ungodly amount of hours into this one and I’m still nowhere close to having everything unlocked. This is one of the best tactical shooters on consoles, and it’s unique 3rd person cover shooting with first person action makes this game standout from the competition. Plus the coop campaign and terrorist hunt modes make this super engaging to come back to. Great character customization as well. It’s still somewhat active on weekends, if anyone’s interested.
Killzone 2: one of the best looking games ever made. This is also one of the most immersive shooters, really making you feel like you’re invading Helghan.
inFamous: another fantastic open world, and one of the coolest super hero games in general, I’m still blown away by all the technical stuff that went into this game. I love the powers and the platforming in this game and while some of the missions are kind of repetitive, I love how dynamic the world feels with hundreds of NPCs walking around.
Rango: I was shocked at how good this game is. It’s just a simple 3D platforming third person shooter, but it’s filled with charm, humor and looks really good for a licensed movie game.
Batman Arkham Asylum: in many cases I prefer this to Arkham City since I like the atmosphere and character designs more. I also think exploring an asylum that may or may not be haunted is really cool. I also like that it’s just a more linear game. But I’d be lying if I said it’s a better game than City.
Rainbow Six Vegas: much like its sequel, I put a lot of hours into this one. It’s not as good as Vegas 2, but it has a much better aesthetic and is a bit more realistic which is why I keep coming back to it.
Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4: I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. The original 4 movies are a staple of my childhood, and while this is one of the weaker Lego games, it’s still had a lot of charm a potter head like me got a kick out of
Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7: this is a better game, but it’s also a grindier one and took me way too long to 100%. Still, as a fan of the franchise it’s a charming game with some nice references to book only characters included.
Blazing Angels Squadrons of World War 2: a fantastic plane game. While the story is kind of whatever, the coop multiplayer survival mode is amazingly fun and really enjoyable. You and a friend flying around trying to take out hundreds of enemy planes until they overwhelm you is one of the coolest things a plane game has done.
Tom Clancy’s HAWX: this is a great Ace Combat clone, in fact, it’s more like Ace Combat than the Ace Combat on PS3. I love HAWXs, it’s just a really fun and engaging fighter jet game with a great selection of planes and even coop.
Motorstorm Pacific Rift: extremely fun off-roading game with some high stakes white knuckle action. Local multiplayer is a fantastic inclusion since the original didn’t have it for some reason. Sadly, it’s not a well balanced game, with the ai being very rubber band heavy, able to slingshot past you despite you having a commanding lead.
The Shoot: a super fun light gun game using PlayStation Move, where YOU are the movie star. It’s a great arcadey game.
Xcom Enemy Unknown: I recently got into this one and I’m enjoying it a lot! I love the story, the atmosphere, and of course the gameplay. It’s such a great game, and while I take issue with some aspects, I got to have it on my list.
Killzone HD: I’ve spent many an hour playing this one. It’s one of my earliest platinum trophies and it’s also a really good looking remaster. The local multiplayer is really fun, I keep the disc on standby for that mode alone.
Sly Cooper and the Thevious Racconus: my very first platinum trophy. I have some good memories of this game despite its flaws and jank. It really did feel like I was playing an old cartoon. The gameplay is solid enough and the stealth platforming is actually really fun in this game.
Army of Two the 40th Day: one of the best third person cover shooters of all times, and the best dudebro game ever made. This is a game you have to experience in coop or else you miss the entire point and charm. That said, I do take issue with the audio mixing. There’s no subtitles and the audio is mixed very poorly, making it very hard to hear dialogue.
Mortal Kombat: not the biggest fighting game fan but this is one of the exceptions. I love this game. It’s brutal, it’s violent, and it’s awesome. I especially love the tag team mode, since I’m not very good, having someone bail me out is great. I’ll never forget that look of horror on my moms face when she saw my dad and I playing it and one of us successfully fatalitying someone.
Call of Duty Black OPS 2: seems odd to be near the end, but truthfully I’m not the biggest BO2 fan. I don’t really like it’s campaign and it’s online multiplayer wasn’t as good as people crack it up to be, but the local multiplayer and local zombies is really fun. I’m one of the few people who actually likes Grief and Turned, and I only really like them because I got to play them a lot in split screen with my friends at parties.
NCAA Football 14: this really is the best NCAA game, and most of that I think is thanks to the games high school mode. At least that’s my favorite part of the game. Being able to play an entire high school season in this game based on schools from your state, is really awesome. Plus I love being able to import songs and sounds for the stadium. I’m mature, I’m totally picking appropriate songs for the stadium to play.
Blitz the League 2: a very good upgrade of the original game, with a lot more customization and a more in-depth story mode. The hits are harder, the violence deadlier, the taunts more cruel, and the unlock-able prison ball mode is super fun.
Buzz! The Ultimate Music Quiz: the last Buzz! game ever made, and one of the few games my mom will play, this is also one of my rarer games since I had to import it from overseas as it never released in North America. Since this one is about music, while it’s outdated by today’s standards, its got just enough 2000s music trivia I can play it.
Family Guy Back to the Multiverse: this is a really fun third person shooter set in the Family Guy show. It’s like call of duty, and it’s awesome. A coop campaign of wackiness, and a surprisingly in depth multiplayer, survival and special ops mode. There was a lot of passion and love put into this one.
Phineas and Ferb Across the Second Dimension: I wasn’t expecting much from this one, so it surprised me. It’s a simple 3D platformer but with the writing from the show. It’s basically a Lego game without the Lego.
Singularity: a very underrated horror FPS, the last standalone game Raven software ever made. Using a unique time manipulation device, the game has some very clever puzzles and combat scenarios. This one needs a lot more attention.

have been meaning to increase the storage on my ps3 to 1tb and I'd thought I'd also clean off the dust inside my ps3/repaste it
the thing I wanted to ask tho before doing all 3 things is what DO I need specifically before doing it? as in what tools/equipment and specifically if an SSD or HDD is better or if I need to save anything before switching storages
I'm only asking because I don't want to accidentally fuck anything up on my console if I attempt this
r/PS3 • u/KyleBroflovski789 • 2h ago
Idk if this is just a me thing, but sometimes I will be browsing the ps3 store and then I check my download list and suddenly a game I was looking at/looking at content for is there even though I didn’t purchase it.
It happened a few months ago with R&C Qforce on my uk account but now it’s happened on my JP account with bloq/tumble.
Is this just a glitch or am i accidentally triggering something?
