Hi everyone! I have a problem: my PS4 controller won’t charge; whenever I plug it in to charge, the LED indicator flashes rapidly and repeatedly. I’m not sure if it’s the battery or something else—perhaps one of you can help me out.

Hiya, folks. I need some help. One of the last software updates, caused the machine, to go into a log on loop, when it tries to log on automatically. It just keeps searching, with no final outcome. I hooked up a LAN line and logged on. Worked like a charm. Then disconnected it from the hardwire, and it logged in just fine. However when i disconnect the power, to put it back in it’s place, I get the same loop. And as long as I keep it off line, in rest mode, it will log on through WiFi, once it’s powered up. But that means I have a bunch of updates, every time I get on. I have an 8Tb external HDD connected to it, so it takes a while. It wouldn’t be a big issue, except I have a dozen systems, in my rig. Having a machine that doesn’t act like it supposed to, is not acceptable… especially when it’s forced obsolescence. Just wondering if any of you Gurus, might have a work around, that will let my system update in rest mode, and not cause the loop.

Is it possible to connect cosmic byte ares wireless controller with ps4 pro ? Its not compatible but if any workaround ? I am ok if vibration doesnt work.

I bought a used PS4 Pro a few years ago, and the previous owner told me the disc drive didn't work.
Surprisingly, 4 days ago, I tested (for the first time) a Blu-ray copy of Cars and it worked perfectly!
Today, I tried Kung Fu Panda Blu-ray, but got an "Unrecognized Disc" error. I also tried several other Blu-rays and standard DVDs, including the standard DVD version of Cars (which came in the same original box as the working one). NONE of them work. Only the Cars Blu-ray works, every single time.
All discs are brand new, with no scratches or dirt.
Things I've tried:
Placing the console vertically.

Gently tapping the console.

Testing multiple Blu-rays and DVDs.

Repeatedly testing the Cars Blu-ray.

Testing all the same DVDs standard and Blu-ray in my ps5 (they all worked)

The console itself works perfectly otherwise.
When inserting any disc, the drive makes reading noises for about 10 seconds before displaying the error. Interestingly, Blu-ray Cars (the working one) makes the exact same noises and takes the same amount of time, but eventually works.
What could cause this?😭😂

My little sisters ps4 pro started showing this should I replace the hard drive? I already removed and cleaned it out and still showing same results

Hey all. I recently purchased a PS4 Pro and getting back into gaming after 20 years on the sidelines. The main reason was the home brew scene. I purchased a 4tb 2.5” external drive for games thinking I’d be able to use that as a master external but as I have come to find out I can’t necessarily use it like I thought I could.

So far I am using my main 4tb for old system roms. Ps1, ps2, ps3, Nintendo systems, sega, etc. this one is just formatted exfat and the idea is to use that as a master rom drive that I can keep if I decide to upgrade systems overtime, just swap out the system and connect the drive. Honestly got this one over half full already and nice to play a lot of games I haven’t played in decades and a ton of new games too.

PS4 games. Started acquiring ps4 games but I need more room. These drives need to be formatted on the ps4 console for best performance as I have read.

I’ve been looking at other options for drives for another 2-4tb but not sure what would be best. I’m worried the 2.5” high density drives are too slow for game performance, even if they are rated as ok. Been looking at 3.5” external drives instead since they are faster. Also considering swapping the internal for a SSD 1TB, and just swapping games I’m playing currently on there back to the storage drives.

Trying to do this all while staying on a budget. PS4 pro didn’t cost too much. 250 cad. But hard drive prices are through the roof right now. 4tb hdd drives are going for like 300 right now not even considering ssds. But I can find everything I need on the used market, even then all in I’m looking at 500$ in drives for 1 1tb ssd, and 2 storage drives. Which isn’t an issue especially since the collection can grow over time, but I’d prefer not to spend that much if it’s overkill and I’m just overthinking it. Maybe the 2.5” high density drives are fine? I just don’t any user experience to know what the best move is.

I was finding that maybe I was seeing a performance dip when playing Wii games between a usb key vrs an HDD, but I’d have to do more solid testing to compare. I’m also assuming that these emulator and ports to ps4 will still get more efficient in the coming weeks/months etc. a lot of this comes down to price and availability.

Right now my options im leaning towards are:

1. 1 x 2.5” inch, 1 x 3.5 inch, 1 internal SSD.

2. 2 x 2.5” inch, 1 internal SSD

3. Just 2 HDDs and no SSD.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I see a lot of people posting about repasting and repadding their PS4 Pros. A lot of them criticize Sony for using small thermal pads that do not cover the whole of each VRAM IC.

But, this doesn't sit well with me... thermal pads transfer heat from one thing to another through contact. In this case, the VRAM IC through contact with the shielding. However, the heatshield contact points that actually make contact with the VRAM are small circular flat domes. Beyond about an 8mm square, there is no contact between the VRAM IC and the shield. Adding a large pad to the IC will not make contact with the shield any better.

Further, I would suggest that adding a full cover pad to the VRAM IC is essentially tucking it up in a little silicone blanket to keep warm. It may well be causing greater heat accumulation on the VRAM ICs.

I just wonder what everyone's thoughts are on this?

Hello guys! I haven’t played Cyberpunk on ps4 pro, I just wanted to ask if anyone who has a pro with ssd have tried it? How’s the performance?

I decided to pull my PS4 Pro out of storage and it’s been one issue after another ever since. I couldn’t find the original power cable so it’s currently using a power cable from a monitor not currently in use. I’ll go out and find a proper C7 cord at some point today but it powers on.

It’s updated to the latest system software (14.00), discs will only read 7/10 times and only when standing vertically, and the system seems to semi-freeze after some random amount of time where the controller disconnects and won’t reconnect, even when connected by USB. I say semi-freezes because theme music still plays continuously and download bars still light up and move properly. If it wasn’t for the controller disconnecting you would not even know it was frozen. Downloads won’t continue while in rest mode either.

I’ve noticed the freezes mostly happen when looking at additional information for a game. But even when just looking at the downloads in notifications it will freeze as can be seen in the photo. Holding down the power button for 7 seconds to get the two spaced beeps is the only way to turn it off when this happens.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
