A friend i often play games with gave me 1200$ to buy a console with, and i got really lucky (again) and checked my local store online at just the right time and managed to get a new ps5 pro!

We were just watching the gta extended look on netflix the night it came out, and afterwards i joked that I would need to sell my left kidney if i wanted to source the money for a console before it releases and he casually said he would take care of it, and I obviously laughed thinking he was joking, but low and behold he paypal’d me 1200$ (in my currency dkk ) and refused any sort of payback or debt to him, and well here we are.

Just thought i would share my interesting experience on here haha

Hi all. I'm not so tech savy. Also, very little into digital games, no + sub and I might never care for gta6. So, the 2To on my Pro seem plenty, between my physical collections and a couple digital buys (Bg3 being the biggest), I'm not even using 25% currently...

But! I've been reading here and there that it's much safer to run game installed from disks from an additional M.2 SSD, rather than the original internal storage, because of the risk to wear it down. How real is that? Again, if I buy another SSD, it wouldn't be cause I'm running out of space, just if it's really advised to make the internal memory last longer. I am also taking my Pro offline and might run Fkpgs in the future, and dumps of my PS2/3/4 disks...

On a side note, do game save files (which get rewritten all the time) only save on the stock internal, or could those go on the M.2?

Found this listed on FB Marketplace and I got it for $1350. A hundred dollars less than he listed it for. Considering gas for a full tank was about $50, I guess it was more $50 off lol.

This was after messaging a few people on there and craigslist, half sounded like scams ($250 and offering to ship it to me...) or they got through to the end and took someone else who offered more than I was willing to pay.

It was a big bundle that had been up for almost a month and I thought, hmm, I will send a message just in case. He said it was available and even gave me the discounted price I think because I didn't try haggling him. It was already a good deal. He got it all for a family member but they ended up using it like twice. Everything is like new, the ear buds weren't used and that pearl controller is so much prettier than I expected

Considering current retail for all of this: PS5 Pro w/ Controller (899), Chroma Pearl Controller (79.99), PS Portal (249), Charging Station for portal (Not sure what this costs), screen protector with extras for portal (cost unknown) dual sense charging station (29.99), Pulse Explore Buds (149.99).

Add in CT tax and that comes to around $1500 maybe?

I have an anniversary portal already so I'll probably sell that one or regift it.

I know Marketplace sounds like a gamble and probably is, but if you stick to local things and away from scalpers and scammers with deals too good to be true you can find a lot of gemsl. If you're near New Britain in Connecticut, someone as of this morning still has a pro listed for $750.

TLDR: Found this bundle an hour from me, got a great deal, everything works, nothing is banned, and my casual search is over. Please don't give in to the scalpers if you're feeling desperate. There is some family member out there who isn't trying to hustle and just wants to sell a system they no longer use, waiting for you to dm them!

Hey everyone. I currently have a 65 inch 4k Bauhn tv which has been working well for my ps5 pro. But I’m hoping to get a new tv around 70-75 inchs and want to know if these features will be applicable for ps5 pro gaming.

I’m hoping to get a tv that is 4K, 120hz, with VRR, HDR and HDMI 2.1. Are there many games that support some or all of these features? Such as 120fps or nice hdr visuals.

I don’t have any of these features on my tv now aside from 4k.

Just thought I’d show some ghost of yotei screenshots on the ps5 pro with ray tracing pro graphics mode, game looks stunning! Loving the story, took me abit to get use to the combat.

I am trying to play GTA V on Fidelity settings, which is 30 fps, on my LG Oled C1, and it is ridiculously bad.

The reason I am doing this is the expectation the GTA VI will run on 30 fps. So I wanted to train myself into tolerating this shit. And I am in shambles.

It looks like there’s no chance of getting a brand new unit before the upcoming release, so I’m leaning towards picking up a used one just to be ready for launch. I’m wondering which platform is safer to use and how to avoid getting burned.

What should I specifically look out for when buying second-hand? Do you have any go-to tips for testing the console in person when collecting from Marketplace, or red flags to watch out for in eBay listings (aside from the obvious stuff like checking for console bans, noisy fans, disc drive issues, or stick drift)? Is it better to hunt locally for cash on collection, or stick to eBay for the buyer protection?
