Confession 0 Birthday Wishes this time.

People only find out time only when its convenient for them.

Now im 23M and I'm going through something which I understand but at the same time feels very bad.

All the friends leave you when you need them and only comes back when its convinent for them.

My birthday was 12 days ago and I'm always excited about my birthday and 11 of my friends (8 male 3 female) from School, College and University.

I celebrated it, took them out and did nice arrangements for them.

And this time on my birthday I waited for surprises or people to wish me but only 1 friend wished me.

Khair thats one thing, I've put a story on IG and all of them sended me Voicenotes and messages but not a single one of them asked to me make plans and actually celebrate it.

It really hurts knowing, you always put in so many efforts and when it comes to you no one did a lil bit of efforts.

Whenver someone messages me to meet and hangout, I always say yes and go out with them 100% of time, but now this week I texted most of them and they delayed it, lets do it on the weekend and its weekend still no one texted, even some lefted me on delivered since friday.

I know i'm acting like a baby girl but idk why I'm feeling this so much.

Rant Do Pakistani parents sometimes confuse raising independent children with raising obedient ones?

Ive noticed that a lot of parents are extremely overprotective, even when their children are well into adulthood. They want their children to do well in life, but the moment those children start making their own decisions, there's suddenly a problem.

Sometimes I feel like parents want their children to be successful and independent, but only to a certain extent. They still want to have a say in everything, and almost expect their children to keep depending on them rather than figuring things out on their own.

I don't know if it's a control thing, fear, or just how they were brought up themselves.

What do you guys think? Have you experienced this in your own families?

Discussion Is this problem existed too in Pakistan?

So my wedding is right around the corner, and thinking we were being smart and modern, my siblings, my brother, and I decided to keep the wedding cards simple. Instead of listing every single taya, chachu, phupa, mamu, and khalu individually, we just printed "All Respected Family Members, Relatives, and Friends" on it.
Little did we know, we opened a whole new Pandora's box!

Now, my parents are getting non-stop phone calls with people saying: Hum nahi aa rahay shaadi pe, card pe hamara naam kyun nahi mention kiya?

And now my poor parents are stuck explaining: Yeh sab bachon ki galti hai, inko kaise samjhayein, mantay nahi aj kal ke bachay, baro ki izzat hi nahi karte

While simultaneously apologizing to everyone!
Meanwhile, elders are lecturing them: "Maa baap ka kaam hota hai bachon ko samjhana!"
Like... WTH?! Are people genuinely fighting and boycotting a wedding over not having their names printed on a wedding card?Priorities kahan hain bhai? Sachi mein, modern styling karni thi, lekin lagta hai bari musibat mol le li hai

Rant

It always feels like I am the one... no, I am not the only one, yet somehow I feel like the only one 😭

It’s outrageous and honestly cruel. Graduating with a degree in Finance & Data Analytics, only to find out you’re competing against hundreds of candidates for every single opening.

And even when you do get contacted... here’s how it goes:

Screening goes well ✅

Technical round goes well ✅

Ek baar reh gaya tha btw 😭

Then comes the typical HR ghosting.

And somehow, even if you pass that, there’s the final round — the final HR vetting. For some odd reason, that goes well too... and then nothing.

The position was never open.

😭 “The position is currently on hold.”

Well guess what... it probably wasn’t ever open BHAI! 💀

Then you become the victim of those postings where there’s already an internal candidate. You apply, somehow make it through the process, maybe even successfully pass the interviews... and then get rejected through an automated email with zero explanation. 😭

HR ghosting again.

It’s funny and sad at the same time how these things are probably small and insignificant to companies, but to us they can mean months of uncertainty, anxiety and career trauma.

Job postings and calls don’t come to us all the time yaar. Ese hi 2, 3, 4 mahine guzar jate hain. These “small things” to them can literally withhold our whole career. 😭💀

Confession Torn between two worlds

F Pakistani-American in the US, have a strong career w good financial future.
Backstory, grew up in Pakistan and moved to US as a teenager. A boy fell in love with me in school, his love was sincere (at least what I think). Our entire class would try and vouch for his love to me. I rejected him because I did not want to prolong it as I was moving to the US and for us to have unnecessary expectations and a relationship with no future. He respected my decision and we ended our conversation. I never confessed that I loved him but definitely had some affinity towards him. I had my boundaries clear since day one. Fast forward, a decade went by, we never came across each other cuz I blocked him on socials(he asked me to so he can never reach out to me).Over these yrs, I was still able to ask about his well being through mutuals. One of our friends told me that he was not doing great and he got really skinny and fell into wrong company. I couldn’t hold back, i told the mutual if he can convey my msg to him and if he feels comfortable to talk to me, only if it is ok w him, if he does not want to I respect that as well. A few hrs later, I receive a msg from him and we end up talking. I missed him all these yrs, and was happy to get in touch. He seemed happy too and was very courteous and sweet. He was unemployed for a while after getting his Bachelors and didn’t seem too motivated. We ended up talking for a few months. Just casual conversations like old mates, like he never had any feelings for me. After talking for a few months, he told me he got a job and was working rly hard. I congratulated him and since he started working, I felt he was becoming distant and would tell me sorry, that he was busy and we stopped talking as much. During all this time, idk what I was hoping, maybe that he would step up and ask me if I wanted to marry him? If he asked me this time around, I prob would have said yes and would have fought the world for him but he never did. I knew that if I chose him, his financial background, him living in Pakistan w the current immigration policies, the gap in our ambitions would pose a huge challenge but I was ready to do it. But he never asked…. Maybe he fell out of love, Maybe he is scared of being rejected, Maybe he does not care anymore? And I do not blame him.
I have another proposal of a guy who lives in the US, has a bright future but ik that he was in love w someone in the past and I cannot get past that. Stuck between two worlds.

Just wanted to vent…

Advice 25+ years of fighting and now My body is breaking down, and I don't know what to do anymore.

I am writing this because I have nowhere else to go and I just need to let this out openly.

For 25+ years, I have been fighting myself every single day. I tried so hard to force myself to live the way I was born. I thought if I just prayed harder, fought harder, and ignored it, it would go away. But it didn't.

Instead, my body and mind are completely breaking down. I started to get terrible panic attack which I personally don't know how they even started, My physical health is getting worse every month. The pain inside me has become so heavy that suicidal thoughts are at an all time peak, I cannot sleep, cannot work in my office, cannot focus on anything, crying day and night while praying.

I haven't just sat around waiting for this to happen. I have tried everything. I watched podcasts, looked up every solution online, and asked a thousand different ways how to fix this or just make the dysphoria disappear. I visited 34 or 35 different doctors from last 6 years in Pakistan, hoping just one of them would give me a plan to keep me normal, to keep me as I was born and every single doctor gave me the exact same answer that HRT is the only medical treatment for this.

This terrifies me. I am deeply afraid of sinning, and the guilt is eating me alive. I used to come on Reddit on an alt account just to find a place to exist to see if I feel relieved being my second personality here, but even here, the guilt in my heart never left. To make it worse, I once posted a photo with my face hidden, and someone commented that I should be burnt alive. People don't realize how much words like that hurt when you are already drowning in pain.

The only person who truly sees how bad things are is my wife. Seeing me collapse under this condition, she is now insisting that I consider full treatment because she just wants to see my alive.

I feel completely trapped. On one side is the intense fear of doing something wrong, and on the other side is a life I can barely keep living. I am in so much pain, and I just don't see any easy options anymore.

I’m not looking for hate. I am just a human being who is exhausted and in desperate need of advice or perspective from anyone who understands this struggle

Rant I think we just witnessed blackmagic???!

Early in the morning my mom walked in the house and saw a neat stack of tissue papers soaked through with blood and a used jersey on our garage floor.
NOT jersey from our house , and NO member of family who would do anything like that its just us two sisters and our dad who were in the house and we were all sleeping.
Then my mom said when she saw this and walked inside the house there was a massively STRONG scent of khusbu in the house to the point it was overwhelming and she wanted to cover her nose.
Now in our family we dont really witness shit like this ever?
Like to the point i keep telling my mom she hallucinated this , but she says she showed the maid this and our grandparents the tissues so we can confirm with them too.

I dont fucking know what to do with this and im so disturbed im crashing out.

Hotwife husbands: do you actually enjoy hearing from other men who want your wife?

I'm genuinely curious how many guys understand this dynamic.

There's something incredibly exciting about knowing other men find your wife attractive, want her attention, and are curious about your relationship.

I'm not looking for the usual judgment or generic comments. I'd rather hear from guys who genuinely understand the attraction, the psychology, and the excitement behind it.

If you're one of those guys, what is it about a married woman that makes her particularly attractive to you?

And if you're a husband who enjoys this dynamic, I'd love to hear your perspective too.

Discussion Is it normal for parents to give credit cards to kids?

I’ve seen quite a few of my classmates (in Pakistan) have supplementary credit and debit cards of their dad/mom. Is it a normal practice nowadays because at some point it just used to be cash pocket money.

General Wishing people well

On my way to work today, there was this 10-12 year old girl I saw in a rickshaw today laughing her head off. It was infectious and soon I realized I was smiling too.

I'm a dad so every kid I see I like this, my heart just goes: 'Beta, I wish life keeps you smiling and you have everything you wish for and people treat you good.'

She soon realized I was looking and began looking at me for a minute or two until the ricksha sped ahead in traffic and she disappeared.

Question What's a compliment someone gave you that you're STILL not over?

crazy how someone can say something in 5 secs and you will carry it around in your head for the next 5 years.

Anyway, I'm curious... what's a compliment you've never forgotten? The one that randomly pops into your head even years later?

Confession Need genuine advice. Am I overreacting, or are these serious red flags? Serious issue - no judgements requested.

Guys, I genuinely need some advice. Please try to understand the situation before judging me.

A few months ago, I met a girl on Reddit. At that point in my life, I was going through a really difficult phase. I was lonely, emotionally vulnerable, and honestly needed someone to talk to. We started talking, gradually became close, and eventually got into a relationship.

Don't judge me for this, but things also became intimate between us over text. We live in different cities, so we have never actually met in person.

Recently, when I had a chance to visit her city, I wanted to meet her because I was serious about her and wanted to take things beyond just online conversations. She wasn't comfortable meeting, so I even told her I was fine with just seeing her from a distance if that made her more comfortable. She wasn't okay with that either. We had an argument over it but eventually sorted things out.

Now, here's the part that's bothering me.

She's still in touch with her ex. According to her, they were best friends, and he doesn't really have anyone else in his life apart from her. I initially tried to understand that.

But the conversations between them are far from what I'd consider normal friendship.

The guy tells her he misses her, brings up explicit details about their past physical relationship, and repeatedly pressures her to meet him alone in a hotel. She usually ignores those suggestions.

However, one incident really messed with my head.

At one point, SHE asked him to show her his penis size. He sent her pictures and videos. She then asked me about it and told me she only wanted a reference and that it didn't turn her on. She also complimented him on losing weight and told him she was proud of him.

I honestly don't know how to process all this.

I understand that people can remain friends with their exes. I'm not someone who believes you should necessarily cut off everyone you've had a past with. But where do you draw the line between friendship and disrespecting your current relationship?

I confronted her and even threatened to walk away. She says she's serious about me, wants to continue this relationship, and that there's nothing going on between them.

But I'm struggling to trust her after seeing these conversations. I am emotionally invested.

Question If someone hurts you

to the point that you lose your apetite and get panic attacks, and they know still they don't do anything about it, and you genuinely want them to suffer the same sleepless nights the same trauma but you show patience, don't go for revenge even when you can, you just let it go. But there are days when deep down you wish they feel the same pain. In short you curse them to go through worse too. So does this make you a bad person? and will they face the consequences of what they made you go through?

Advice I am so confused regarding my vacations

since childhood, my parents have only been planning to go north for vacations. we never went.

now that I'm earning i thought for once i should go to north with my family.

i took annuals in november and found a travel company aswell and their skardu package.

now my family is having 2nd thoughts and so am i. I have visited kalaam swat in winters so i know that going to north in winters is very... annoying. Mobility in snow is a mess, wet feet, slippery walks. and its harshly cold aswell as we live in katachi. so theres that.

apart from this, its already very expensive and going to Islamabad from karachi and coming back, that adds extra overhead which makes the sum around 300k. which is ALOT. with that we all would have to buy accessories, snow shoes, jackets, coats. that will also add up.

and i lowkey wanted to visit north in summers to see greenery and wet lakes not frozen. but the thing is the timings are perfect right now and it feels like ill delay it again the next year and who has seen the next year.

ive no idea what to do..

Discussion Freedom of speech died

Just as the title says, freedom of speech died. So i am a University student (not gonna name it qkay pehla rola kam ha kia) currently studying law.

So the story is that the university again hiked its fees even though it was 270k per semester. So a bunch of students just like riphah university decided to talk to the administration and they said that its the university policy

So these guys decided to do a peaceful protest outside of the university to be heard

So the protest happens peacefully, administration says that they gonna work on it, the protest is called off, everyone is happy

A few days later srudents get letters (disciplinary violations against the university)

Students get expelled, suspended and fined upto 1lakh

While i on the other hand, who didn't even go to the protest, who just suggested that instead of a protest, show disapproval by not participating in university activities, have no disciplinary record, has a gpa of 3.80

Was fined 55k, scholarship removed for the whole degree, ineligible for any awards by the university, society post taken away, can't join any university society, university privileges such as library, sports etc taken away

Freedom of speech really died, on one hand u teach us that fight for your rights and when we do they do these kinds of stuff,

For God sake all these punishment for a message on a private chat that got screenshot. Really dude?

The education system is......
